Assuming all goes well we've only got what? Less than a month more to go? Can't wait for the EA. Seeing and experiencing the development of this game in real time will be super interesting.
Man oh man, I just found your series on Spelljammer and WOW! Instant sub. Fantastic content and delivery. On to Ravenloft. I hope and pray you'll do a series on Planescape, Dragonlance, and Wildmount. THANK you for your work!
No fire right, so how do dwarven forges function if they are not using heat & flame? "Well now young 'un. No dwarven crew has returned from their maiden voyage - yet- so they are obviously keeping all that gold and all those gems for themselves."
For the sake of brevity, most folks refer to the area between spheres as The Phlo. The politics in Spelljammer tend towards the more fluid, so working with Illithids, a lawful race, can actually be profitable. For a fun and tough adventure that shows this off, I suggest SJA4 Under the Dark Fist. No spoilers, but it shows off the potential Spelljammer had. If you are a fan of Farscape, Under the Dark Fist has a bit of a Farscape feel to it.
There are some "rules" for spelljammer helms at the near-end of Dungeon of the Mad Mage. If I remember correctly, it is stated that you can maintain a speed of 10ft. x your highest unspent spell slot while attuned to the helm (as a magic item), without having to actually spend the slot.
@@JazzyBassy thats not if you're spending spells to move. That 10ft. x unspent highest spell is the fastest possible speed you can go WITHOUT spending spells.

It should be mentioned that in Tome of Foes, that the "helm" from Spelljammer has been mentioned when discussing the Githyanki lore, and navy. I am glad you broke down the Nautaloid for us, I'm definitely planning on getting B.G. III.
5e spelljammer is everything I want right now. I really hope that's their big reveal for the anniversary. In the meantime, I'm obsessing over spaceship designs for it.
There are somewhat made rules for a spelljamming helm in 5e with the Helm of the Traveler within Dungeon of the Mad Mage, which is like a weaker minor helm given how slow it moves (still relatively fast compared to a lot of dnd travel), but it doesn't actively burn spell slots to use.
Pretty dope video! Being a greek the word you mentioned is "Φλογιστρον" or in latin characters Flogistron! And in the modern days it means something like a blowtorch!
My Wizard has a Nautaloid as a mobile base. This reminds me of a character I played for a one shot. He was a male Drow Noble (a third son) of House Ablodra (known for Psions) that secretly give male Drow to the Mind Klayers to go threw the transformation in trade for weakened larva that the females could host and control. He is using a ring of mind shielding to slow or stop the transformation he is not sure. But in order to use any of the Illithid abilities he has to remove the ring and being mentally attacked by the larval Mind Flayer.
Apparently it wasn't Baldurs Gate that was being attacked, but a different city entirely, or one of it's neighbour's at least. According to one of the producers anyway, I believe.
Have you done a video about the Selunian/leiran lore, with them living on the forgotten realms moon Selune? I could barely find anything about them online and it's a shame because they are the perfect race to interpret as the Lunarian race from Japanese mythology.
I get their idea was to combine different settings this way, but personally I don’t like settings being planets, I think of them as dimensions, so a space campaign wouldn’t go through settings, a setting would be big enough to contain space in my mind
R.I.P. Krynnspace... obliterated by a well-deserved, albeit destructive lawsuit. No more topknotted Kenders with hoopaks in space! (::wonders whether to cheer or cry::)
Here’s my question which I want a second opinion on they did say that the evil campaign you lean more on using the powers of the tadpoles you don’t think that means that your character hast to become a mind flayer full-fledged to do the evil play through do you just because I kind of find that limiting in my opinion no offense to the designers but I kind of would like to stay as the character instead of have to be tentacally when I finish the evil play through I plan on doing with friends.
When Spelljammers came out, I dismissed the whole idea as ridiculous. It just didn’t fit in to my “traditional” D&D setting. Now I’m trying to find out all I can about this aspect of the universe because it is very interesting and creative.
Wait, I don't think the city it attacked was Baldur's Gate, was it? It's symbol was two towers with a sword between them, and the town guard wore the same instead of being Flaming Fist.
Athus the planet in Darksun is unable to be accessed by a spelljammer. Or more specifically IIRC no one knows how to get there and no one knows how to create a spelljammer on the planet. Ravenloft is also inaccessible by spelljammers because it does not exist in a crystal sphere.

Awesome!
The original 2nd edition boxed set explains how this works the best. "It is magic, and even worse. It knows it is magic."
Geezer here.....
Druids in space. Just happens to be a base line in my campaign world.
Game on.
Their ships would be colony ships, complete with internal ecosystems or the combination of a water sphere and a gaint tree.

A warlock can get spell slots back very fast, also there is the great old one pact. Together you get a very nice h.p.lovcaft kind of game in space.

I wonder where the Nautiloid came from that's in BG3?
