    Very nice! Thorough and methodical. Keep up the good work.
    The stripped holes on the front of the engine are never a surprise. I'm doing head gaskets on a friend's EJ253 and all three idlers were cross-threaded... a "repair" shop did a timing belt and water pump 4k miles ago.
    Anyway, you're making good progress.

    @road patina, the thickness of a standard zip tie is perfect for the crank and cam guide thickness. So you can stop using folded paper. 😎

      Haha it was folded cardboard measuring 1mm!

    I just wanted to say good job, man. I’m in a similar position on my own channel with a JDM Impreza Type R build. I have no clue half the time but I just crack on and Google stuff and do my best. After a bit of a lay off I’m hoping to get back into my project in the next couple of weeks. Your series has really inspired me and given me a bit of motivation again 👍🏻

      Thanks a ton! This means a lot to me. Motivation does not come easy. Keep at it, do your research, and plan that everything will need to be replaced 😂

    Alright, man! So happy this is progressing. I really hope with all this work you’re putting in, you already changed out the oil pick up

    • @RoadPatina
      @RoadPatina  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wait what is a pick up? JK! Yes, Killer B pick up and baffle went in long ago when I first purchased it. Good lookin out 👍

    Maybe I missed it in your bio or something, but how do you know how to do all this? I'd like to consider myself a DIYer but when it comes to cars... clueless!

    • @RoadPatina
      @RoadPatina  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahha just a DIYer myself! I started working on go karts and dirt bikes at a young age using manuals, guessing, and asking questions. Now, with the internet we can research how to do just about anything! Start small and work your way up. I started with oil changes!
