You can cover your seedling with tulle fabric to keep the chicken from eating your baby plants. Once the plants mature the chickens will bother them less. I love the new weird chicken house! It's a perfect match of weirdness.
For the pigs: 1) Use some sort of feed, either their daily rations or treat grain to spread out in areas you want them to focus their work, like where those canes remain untouched. This will help you direct them to work the problem areas earlier rather than later. A good way to keep them evenly working a paddock as well rather than destroying the good parts totally before working the areas you want them to. 2) Be good to get some free choice charcoal and kelp in there for them, especially if they went after that old campfire spot so quickly. Good for their guts and overall health.
The weird chickens look so much happier having so much space to peke and scratch at! Yeah, when you first opened the door, there was a moment of confusion, but then, they saw they weren't in that same tiny yard....it was the giant veggie garden they had watched from their old coop!!! Lol they had only dreamed of eating all the bugs and veggies in that garden...now it's theirs, finally! ❤
Be careful about piling wood long term and then setting it on fire. Animals like wood piles to hide their babies. I just watched a warning video from a cat rescue about a little kitty they named Arson that was hiding in a wood pile and got severely burned before they realized he was there.
I used to volunteer at a hedgehog rescue. In the UK we have bonfire night 5th November, right when hedgehogs think about hibernating, we had a number of burnt hogs brought in, unfortunately being so small it rarely ended well. In the spring/summer they would come in with strimmer injuries. Thanks for highlighting to take care. 💜

Abby always licks her chops when she watches the goslings. Not the most sisterly reaction, but she clearly understands that you have forbidden her to go through with the bite. I can see why you don’t trust her alone with them. Toby’s reaction is quite different. I love the contented sounds the weird chickens make when they are strolling around looking for bugs, worms, and tasty plants. I wonder how long it will take for them to figure out how to get into the Weird Chicken House and whether they will be motivated to do so. I’m sure you already have Plans B, C, D….t

Thank you once again Mr. Morgan farmer for the reintroduction of your weird chicken chronicles and your dedication to leaving no farm animal (and beyond) behind in your daily conquest of a robust ecologically balanced environment.😊
I signed up for the TobyDog book! The new baby chicks are too cute, as always. Happy that they are healthy. It makes me very sad when even one doesn't make it to maturity. Very sad. Abbydabbydoo is so pretty and gentle! Getting rid of that estrogen really calms a female's attitude. She is so sweet & only happy to make you happy. Loving the new weird chicken house. @@LeLeD662 it’s called the “Omlet chicken coop” it actually seems to be a very good chicken coop and it seems to be very secure according to what people say! It also seems to last quiet a while. Toby has always been the perfect bird gaurd dog. He's just so calm and gentle with them. The best protector. Also, I want to say the weird chicken house is raccoon proof, but considering the war that cities are waging to keep them out of garbage cans, I have my doubts.

So a good idea to have is try burying some treats underground while they're busy eating and eventually you'll see they'll start digging. This can be because they're young and they take a bit of time when they're young to uproot things. But once a bit older they'll work faster and burying some treats may help speed up that rooting habit.

I can't tell already the small chickens New Coupe needs a proper ramp. The steps leading Up to the coupe are two far apart for any chicken to want to navigate up and down daily. Have you thought about placing some sturdy permament fence post out in some corner places? and then just run the temporary fences between. That way you can put higher tension on the wire and when they are not in use you can hang saltlicks/ cowbrushes etc on them.
Sprinkle some of the pigs food really lightly over all of the places that you want tilled and turned up by the pigs. Just do it one section at a time like you do your other animals.
New goslings are looking great! I need to get my folks an incubator. The geese lay, but something gets the eggs and sometimes geese disappear in the spring when they are sitting. Coyotes. We have focused on just getting males, they don't sit and stand less of a chance of getting got.

It’s nice but they only have 3 or 4 chickens.
Morgan do you let your chickens out during the day to just roam the whole farm and eat bugs and other things and then lock them in the coop at night? We had chickens when I lived in NH and they would roam the whole yard/ 13 acres of land and they would automatically go back in the coop before dusk and we would lock the coop to prevent predators from getting them. If you want to clear overgrown parts of your land consider getting a small herd of American Bison they will eat every bit of brush they can reach. Bison meat sells at a premium price and is even more delicious than beef. Bison do not need a barn, they are very hardy in winter.
I’ve been meaning to tell you how healthy you look now. When you first started the channel, you looked unwell and older. Farming was the right move for you.😊
Adorable weird chicken coop, which I realize is not the primary reason for acquiring it, but still adorable. One concern, any danger of a high wind storm tipping it over or is its metal frame sufficiently heavy and balanced to prevent that from happening? This question comes from someone who both habitually drops things and had to retake physics during summer school, so consider that question's relevance accordingly.😉 Also, I am very impressed with the girls remembering the "fresh grass" chant or is that the magic of editing?😆
I have the Omlet portable fence for my adult geese. Makes it easier to contain them with fresh grass access. If I try to free range them, they just go to my Mom's house nextdoor and poop on her porch while hissing and charging (since it's breeding season for them still). I thought about their coop, but it's too small for the amount of chickens I have.
I really hope that you do good with the production of the Toby dog book. I would hope to see in the future if you could make a graphic novel about the farm and the animals. That would be the coolest thing.
Is it weird I would be happy to see a live stream of the weird chickens all day, like a 2nd channel. I bet it would take too much bandwidth or power, but I would be cool

I hope that the next farm meeting is soon? I'm in need of 90 minutes worth of farm stuff to chill with. 😊
I think next Wednesday
@Barbara Bigelow Thanks Barbara 😊
Hey its 6/14/23 at 1:23pm and your on TV, ABC to be exact. It was very cool
Good morning Morgan. I look forward to your new videos. I watch here and Facebook.
It's been ages since I managed to catch a video as it came out! Ready for some dopamine. Hope you are doing well Morgan :)
