Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami can be honorable mentions..The surrounding areas outside of New York State..They all have their own major food scenes, and Texas bbq of course.. Queens is heavily populated by Asians with both a C-town and K-town.
Refreshing to see a whyte person (haven't heard of him before, I may be ignorant) give praise to Asian cities (Chengdu is fire and Tokyo has so many gems) and Queens (so many enclaves in the same city) There's not much French food in Vancouver but otherwise we do have a quality food scene (albeit expensive)
Andrew Zimmern used to be a host of a food traveling show called Bizarre Foods. If you have HBO Max, you can watch all of the episodes on there. It's a fun show.
Having been to 4 of the cities in the top 5, haven't been to Mexico City yet, I totally agree with Zimmern's top list. My top two is exactly like his, NYC and Tokyo. I've been to Spain many times and ate some great tapas and some not so great. I think people needs to go to a less touristy city in Spain. We're in Malaga and Marbella and the foods there were amazing. Other cities that I think have great foods are Las Vegas, Chicago, Singapore and Los Angeles.
Chengdu is fantastic both for visiting (esp the pandas) and for eating. Am a little salty Paris is so low, but eh c'est comme vous voulez. I would put it at least Top 3. You have to find the right food, there is obviously also tourist traps so knowing the real cuisine is great, and it's so varied, like we have everything here from so many different cultures, especially good Asian food. Try the gastronomie here, it's incredible. Hmu Fung Bros, would love to show you around some great local food places here
Food in Britain in the last 15 years is so much more than bangers and mash and fish and chips. We have cuisines from all over the world and the quality is very very good.
Considering a large portion of Italian food is derived FROM Asian food, specifically from China, yes…Asian food is so much better. There’s so much more variety, flavors, techniques, textures, etc., etc.
Don't really like Sichuan/Chongqing cuisine I think the Mala flavor is overrated and rather oily. I think Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Guizhou cuisines are all underrated and people should try them more instead of Sichuan/Chongqing cuisine.
Lima, Peru absolutely needs to be mentioned. There’s a good mix of Asian, European, Latin and indigenous cuisine. Currently the world’s top ranked restaurant, Central, is in Lima.
If you have visited 20+ countries, I will respect your opinion. If you've visited 10+ countries, I will listen to your opinion. If you've visited less than 10 countries, your opinion holds no weight.
You need to know where the locals eat in wherever you are! One of the best meals in my life was in Madrid! Other impressive meals I had were in Tokyo, Rome and Paris. Paris is definitely the best for fine dining and patisserie, and Vietnamese! For Chinese I much prefer Cantonese and Yunan cuisine! I’m surprised Hong Kong isn’t on the list as it’s got the best from every part of the world eg. Zuma (japanese) is the best among all cities. NYC is definitely impressive and diverse but I feel everything just got heavier and bigger portioned in the States 😂 never been to Mexico but I did hear good things about it, although the Mexican we have in London really isn’t that great! London’s gastronomy scene has definitely gone much much better, with some impressive restaurants scattered around and obviously none is British 😅
Chinese Italians Koreans Greeks Indians Phillipos Japanese all live and queens and IT ALL THE FOOD HITS. Wanna see more combination restaurants or I'm gonna cry.
Omg so many thoughts…Vancouver is way better than Toronto for Asian food (seriously!). Paris may be overrated or at least heavily skewed French/European and some Asian (eg. Vietnamese, French but not great Chinese ). Tapas in Spain is amazing, I wouldn’t compare it to tapas in the us and southern Spain has some of the best, freshest seafood. am still a bit skeptical of Mexico City though one of my good friends keeps telling me there are lots of Michelin restaurants. I am also skeptical of the Michelin brand for ethnic foods , especially Chinese. And not surprised by high density of Michelin in Tokyo~ fair number of foreigners there and they know how to play the Michelin game. Whereas for chinese, some of the best food is a hole in the wall that would never be discovered by Michelin “inspectors” ( these Restos would probably violate osha and food safety rules too 😂). Pro tip for Paris: about 10 hrs ago there was a French backlash against using the Michelin rating (parisians adopted an alternate rating , forget the name now, that was still highly foodie based )
Chegdu is most likely his shock pick. Let's just say that Szechuan food on its own is absolute fire, but what about the rest of the international cuisine there? Is it on par with cities like HK and Singapore, both of which also serve plenty of Szechuan food of their own?
@@UtotheJA house is not cheap, but if you want to rent all your life, then that is your decision. I purchased my house in a good neighborhood for $400K and it is now worth ~$2.5M. Unlike a Kia or a Hyundai, my used Porsche 993 has not depreciated in value over the years.
I'm always disappointed when I eat Sichuan food. One dish is the explosive chicken with a pile of dried chili on top of the dish you couldn't even see the chicken. Are you supposed to eat all that chili? The spicy fish with chili oil, half of the dish is chili oil. Are you supposed to eat the oil with rice? The Shredded Pork in Spicy Garlic Sauce is all salt. It's so salty that it burned my tongue or crystallized it. Maybe I came on bad days but I've seen many people there enjoying it.
Rome Milan Florence Italian cuisine is somehow my Achilles’ heel and i lives there. I love asian cuisine but I never been to any asian country. I love french cuisine I love cuisine créole I also love Indian cuisine
i mean i think both italian and asian is good just depends how the food is made
I think there needs to be more emphasis on China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and The South Asian subcontinent here
I'm half Italian & i agree Asian food is far more tastier & complex. BUT, Italian food has AMAZING deli meats & cheeses that are unbeatable.
Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami can be honorable mentions..The surrounding areas outside of New York State..They all have their own major food scenes, and Texas bbq of course.. Queens is heavily populated by Asians with both a C-town and K-town.
I am lucky.
Been to all those cities
on expense account

So basically not English/British
@@lulc4694 yes like in most countries. New York doesn’t just sell burgers. We have food from all over the world, and it’s excellent.

Central is a little overrated

Yeah, it's better. It's a whole continent versus an empire broken thousands years ago.

Lol, it’s still the opinion of ONE guy who may not have the same taste as you.
No doubt Sichuan food is tasty...until you wake up the next morning and sit on the throne for 30 minutes in agonizing pain. 🌶🚽
You can get non spicy Sichuan food. Just the Sichuan peppercorns

Anything spicy is my favorite. Anything bland ain't good at all.
Asian food just have more variety. When I think of Italian food, all I think about is tomatoes, pasta and cheese.

Yeah Chengdu! He knows the shit!
I was guessing Bangkok for 1st then he says nyc and Queens lmao
Wow, no Hong Kong or Bangkok?
BS list. Los Angeles, Bangkok and Seoul should be in top 5.
Bangkok is good, but nothing in LA and Seoul is original. Especially Seoul, they just stealing culture from everywhere.
ain’t no way y’all speak of SEA food but not mention Malaysia
Depends where you from, every countries like different thing
Bangkok, Houston, New Orleans

Save your money and invest in financial investments. Eating exotic food all the time is not cheap.
Asian food is not “exotic”.
You should buy a tent, a house is not cheap… While you are at it, you should walk everywhere since cars are depreciating assets…
