- In this episode, we feature this fabulous full body-off restoration / modification of a 1972 FJ40. This Land Cruiser features a Cummins R2.8, a Toyota H55F 5 speed transmission, and a new split transfer case. It's got tons of exclusive PRLC gear including our custom front and rear off road bumpers, a PRLC family cage, our shackle reversal, and a 3 1/2" wheel base extension. Check it out! This 72 is one of my favorite’s that I have seen you do love it.
I've watched all your videos several times and have followed you guys for about 3 years now. I am "resurrecting" my '79 fj40 and am constantly checking my work to PRLC standards. I've worn out the play/pause function on my remote to pause the videos and take note on all that you guys/gals do. Awesome work and another awesome 40!

I would love to see a video of these landcruisers with the 2.8 doing a drivability.. I want to go with the 2.8 but how does it compare to the original 3B diesel?
There is no comparison. The 2.8 is much better. Episode 51 (not out yet) has some of what you are looking for. Also, because you commented on this, our 50th episode, you are eligible for a free t-shirt. Email the shop to coordinate.

Love the 40. Great job as usual. What color is it? Cement Grey?
Thanks and good question. We started off thinking we were going to go with Cement Grey, but changed our minds because it would have been a little too light. Plus, Cement has a lot of pearl in it. It's almost too modern looking for an FJ40. We developed the color we used in house. It's a little darker than Cement with no pearls.
