    This is the second home in which th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

    My doorbell is mounted to the area to the right of where you installed yours. How would you mount a Ring doorbell to that tiny surface area?

    • @vinnierap
      @vinnierap  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question.... I'm not too sure to be honest. It all depends on what material is behind that section. You could always try longer screws through the back of the bracket. Or maybe you could mount it to the brick.

    Good job! I’ve got the same “tunnel” type doorway. I put in angle wedge like yours with an additional wedge that points the camera up a slight bit. Great solution for doorways like ours.

    Thanks for the video. I’m buying an angle mount for a friend and wanted to see how they need to install it. Pretty simple. My only question is why didn’t you screw the two pieces together first? Seems like it would be easier than doing it on the wall, especially with such small screws. Also, for anyone first installing, don’t put on the cover until you sync it to the app. You need to press the button that is under it to reset it. :)

  • @paulsilva3346
    @paulsilva3346 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I installed the Wedge first, with 2 med. aftermarket screws. THEN I used 2 of the LONG Screws supplied to mount the ANGLE piece. I ALSO USED SOME #10 STEEL FLAT WASHERS instead of just the funnel-shaped screw headed screws. NOW I'm waiting for my battery to finish re-charging before I use it.

    Considering the location on the door frame I would be concerned when moving furniture (or other large objects) in and out of the house since it seems to protrude past the plane of the door frame.

    Thanks for the video, i see there are not just 1 set of mounting holes for the back bracket, there are actually holes on the sides too.......my existing door bell is on a very narrow platform that's why I didn't consider Ring because there is no way I can install over the existing bell ring holes. But with this mount, I think I can do it by mounting the bracket with the holes on the side (not the middle), the bracket will stick out but that's okay.

    Great Video, but this just looks dumb. Ring doesn't have another way? My house has brass fixtures, including the doorbell. If I install a wedge kit, it will look really dumb and hacking. Ring (Amazon) doesn't have another way? (e.g. Wider angle lense? Being able to rotate the lense instead of the entire fixture. etc...)

    It's unnecessary to turn off the breaker. For those, like me, who haven't a clue which breaker it may be, that's a relief. I touched the wires extensively and didn't feel even the slightest tinge of voltage. I measured it at 17V AC, which is apparently not enough to do anything.
