I saw this strategy years ago from Crank, but it was on a map where you had a second base behind your main and could wall off the entrance to your main. Never dreamed of making it a 1-base rush at the time!
Since you already got a lair, if your early zerglings survive you might want to oviedrop them somehwere annoying so they don't notice your nydus. It's only 25/25 if you already have an ovie in place.
yeah the guy that did it to mee did that and it actually did lots of damage even as slowlings! Definitely something I'll add in next time I'm doing this
NICE! I actually use a 1 base nydus and can get 5 or 6 Roaches with a bunch of lings to back them up, and usually I can pop it in 3:15. It DOES melt peoples minds when it works. While I attack I upgrade Roach speed and keep loading roach/ling into it. It gets nasty.
I wonder if you could turn this into a more serious ZvP build by finding a good transition if your opponent doesn't go forge after they see the spawning pool. Switching into a different early aggressive build w/ more focus on traditional units - or if there's any other build you can think of to punish the lack of forge.
Origins of 'brick shithouse' : Back in the days before indoor plumbing, people would sometimes dig holes in the ground and put a seat on top, surround it with walls and a ventilating roof, and call it an 'outhouse'. As architecture evolved, the material used for these moved from wood to brick. Thus, brick 'shithouse'.
He also didnt try to drop "hidden" nydus worms INSIDE Pigs base because the whole point of swarmhosts is that locusts can fly so you dont have to put the worms inside the enemy base where they can be killed. You just put them outside and fly the locusts in. If youre not doing that you may aswell just put normal units into the nydus..
@@matth1005 filling the worm with lingsand roaches instead of swarmhosts would "add dps" too. Thats not the point of the build. The point is that with swarmhosts you can beat people even if theyre good about scouting worms in their base. Risking having the worm killed just so you can get 2 queens worth of extra dps is stupid
@@Hephera overlord has longer vision than anything in their base so if I put it under the overlord and I can't see any buildings or units I know they can't see it. If I thought they'd shut it down I'd do it in a more conservative position. The closer you are the more time your locusts get inside the basee doing damage so its key to be as close as possible. GMs will often just run away from the first wave, wait for them to run out and go back to mining. So every second in there to do damage is key.
This build honestly looks surprisingly close to my old 1 base infestor harrash into broodlord build, love it as thought all these one base builds died without infested terran to distract!!
Also, you could try to optimize this Flo style, by setting some sort of insurance in case a game starts going like that ZvZ, and even summon Starlord to add a new entry to the Book of Filth. Like having a drone far away ready to set up a cheeky outpost instead of taking the natural (sending it as you are about to place the 1st Worm seems like a good time). Then, if the opponent manages to avoid critical damage and things turn into a base trade, you can immediately start using the Nydus to transfer and/or evacuate if needed. Maybe take the 2 extra gases right away or try to cut 1 SH in those scenarios, just to be able to squeeze the appropriate tech for the finishing transition. Place the tech out on the outpost or even under a hidden pooping Overlord (for extra style points if the expa happens to get scouted). Tap into your inner sewer mermaid, mate! Pool first for quicker Ling Speed, keep scouting and keep track of your surroundings with well placed Overlords. You can leave some of them patrolling the area where the 1st Worm tried to pop and/or place a Spine if you are prone to F2ing. Also, set up a hunting control group so you'll have an easier time killing the next Nydus attempts.

The thing is that it works because opponent sees the early pool and starts turtling, which is terrible against swarm host. Yes it's easy to defend if you know what's happening, but the build itself tricks people into the wrong reaction
