baneling nest and 2 banes would delay nydus by 100 gas, defeating the point of fastest nydus challenge edit: you're also investing 150 minerals, plus a mining drone... :\ so you're slowing down your 2nd queen, delaying zergling speed, and not for much value. Games like this really show you whats so scary about a really good zerg player. Turning that economy into a 5 base hive tech economy that fast while still applying massive pressure constantly. Insane to watch. Inspiring.
The zerglings started running across the map because you were still hotkeying eggs into your main army. So when you issued a command after the zerglings came out of the nydus, all the zerglings and eggs that were hotkeyed were told to run across the map lol. I used to do this, and now i just rally the eggs into the nydus and not hotkey them.
27:10 you got both of their names right (almost). at first they were the wet bandits, because they would leave the water running after they would rob a place. then in the 2nd they were called the sticky bandits because they used double-sided tape to steal money from donation buckets.
Marv, when Marv kept getting hit by bricks and Harry was still encouraging The Kid to throw them. I pissed my pants laughing at that scene. Just say no to throwing bricks, kids!
Also, Roach/queen Nydus early has worked better for me on ladder than ling/queen nydus just do queen first as soon as pool is done for inject. depending how quick you do it, you can also squeeze in a started plus 1 range dmg in a evo chamber.
The "take, for example, Belgium [...]" joke was the funniest thing I heard in the last two-three days (and I've been watching other StarCraft TH-camrs constantly in the background).
I got a zvz build that i came up with 2 years ago... 1 base do the extractor trick at 14 with 150 minerals to get 15 and 16 drones. Cancel extractors. Build overlord then pool by your gas. 2 more drones. Double extractor and fill asap. Get queen asap and at least 1 spine preferably 2. No lings until after you get 5 hydras. Spread creep immediately towards ramp. Evo block the ramp with 2 evos and move a spine to the hole in middle. As spon as queen hatches build lair. If enemy is bane busting more spine back and replace with evo. As soon as lair finishes build hydra den and then lurker building. Build 5 hydras. Once lurker den is done morph 3 lurkers. Make sure to build nydus asap before lurker den hatches. Then nydus their main if you can or between 3rd and natural. Enjoy 75% win zvz. 😎😎😎 Before nydus is done have at least 2 extra drones and load them in nydus right after a few lings. Then lurkers. Once you get a nydus in their base unload. Prioritize building spores with drones and spread lurkers out. Attack drones, pool, roach den or their ramp. If you cant get a nydus up you expand and tech to hive. You will need vipers because they almost always go mutas... or mass roach ravenger. Its such a fun build and you skip the annoying ling bane wars. Hahaha

So.. NoRegret had a mean arse nydus rush a few years ago, I think he qualified for GSL Rd32 with it if I remember correctly. You open the same as you but you stop making drones at 19, and your natural is essentially a fake that never gets workers and is only made for lings. You hit when you have 2 dropper lords and 32 lings all up. 8 in each dropper lord, one hitting the main and one hitting the far side of the natural, the other 16 hit the front wall and then immediately sprint back to your nydus in your main and why this is happening you spawn the nydus at whichever of the the two dropper lords is less defended. It was really strong and I almost never lost, I only stopped playing it cause I'm not really a cheesy player and it felt like it was just giving me a fake higher mmr then my skill was really at.
I like Harstem, and I like cheese. I expect I’ll like these videos a lot. But I gotta say that I did have a moment of disappointment when I realized this was not, in fact, a video about Has. There is a truly high bar to be reached, but I have faith in you, Harstem!
Wondering if your bane detonation on your drones at 30:14 was intentional :P Also, I wonder if vs zerg it would be better to rush nydus and then fill it with banes instead of lings. Sneaking a bunch of banes into their mineral line seems pretty decent. Or at least as one other comment said, put a bane or two in first so you can immediately detonate them on whatever is trying to defend the nydus (esp if they worker pull to defend)
nydus worms is one of the worst designs, it would take like 50 minutes for the coders to make pathfinding use nydus entries as part off the calc and auto use them as pathways, making zerg mobility truly awesome and making creep much more worth, allowing for P to not be so weak (yes i said it, thefk is up with protoss the strongest, most advanced, most badass race ever getting demolished fighting same or lower numbers off enemy from Zerg late game.. thats just absurd, collossus 14 range, double shield hp, 50% increased dmg or something like that... seriously protoss high tech units should be monstrous to fight; not something you viper pull into instant death, its so dumb... ... also who the hell thought air units should stack? air units use up space same as ground units; you can't stack 30 vikings on top off each other at max range and expect the top to hit where to bottom can... it also utterly breaks the balance between units... sry, rambling bc it bugs me how bad blizzard have been at managing the setup and balance off sc2.... also biomass is what zerg need, they are basically a copy version off tyranids which honestly is cool as fk, so why are they gathering minerals, why is there no mechanics for them getting resources out of killing on creep or dragging dead bodies, animals, trees etc. back to the base, using maybe nydus for safer resource gathering but needing a much wider area for drones to split out to gether from natural spawning biomass resources... dreamed off the sc2 that should have been, or the sc3 that surely will never be :P

Game 1 was such a massive disappointment, you HAD IT. The times when you have one of these silly ideas that just immediately pops off in the first game is so satisfying. I was totally OK with it having not worked out immediately until you pointed out how many lings were behind! (Yeah, I clearly have no handle on the economy of this game.)
Yes it does, that means every created drone will automatically go to the minerals. That's what you need to do for two reasons. First it allows you to saturate your bases efficiently, allowing you to get 16 on mins exactly before starting to rally to a new base, secondly it means drones don't transfer between bases in the earlygame, this is extremely important against adepts and oracles. If you look at any high level game they basically never individually rally worker outside of into gasses in the earlygame or later to not have to think about it.
if by chance you see this Harstem, can you tell me your EXACT in-game graphical settings so that you can still see burrowed and invisible unit blurs? cuz i prefer the low-grade graphics over the ultra even though i can run it at max graphics and still pull highest fps allowed.
Quick Question. I’ve noticed that pro players don’t use traps so are they really that bad at the top level? I’ve never played Starcraft 2 though only the first game
What is a trap? If you mean stasis trap, then they absolutely do get used at the top level. Common in PvP vs batteries, defensively, in PvZ with oracle gateway style to protect against lingflinks, later on against banelingrunbies and against terran to stall pushes.
Just look at the game lol. How would he ever have a single spinecrawler survive even half the duration it's building if he has 8-12 lings less and he still lost to banes.
I love how the closer you get to game 200 it's turning out to be a situation something like "will the cheesiest man alive barely finish with a passing grade or not?" 59% and get an F? Just above 60% and get the passing D-?
I'm like a 900mmr. So you probably should pay me no attention.. That said, I used to do this build like 10 years ago. The trick, imo, is to just keep chucking more and more into the nydus. I also like immediately going into banelings and keep sending them in. It becomes an attrition match at that point. The point is not let your opponent recover from the 1st hit.
The fact that you immediately go into banelings means that you did not play this build. Nor was this even possible 10 years ago because you started with 6 and not 12 worker.
@@mothrahlurker788 yea, it's called you build more workers.. It's a nydus rush. Not really a difference between a nydus rush now and then, perhaps it came like a minute later.. but the principles was the same.
