White line disease resection on a horse hoof

There is a variety of reasons infections like this plague horse hooves, the tough part is finding out what those reasons are, the fun part is the hoof wall resection. This dressage pony battles white line disease in this same location on the same foot at least once a year. I have many times before on other horses. This horse isn’t a candidate for power tools, he’s a little skittish to them.
