- The awesome Sto-N-Sho NO DRILL license Plate mount, keeps your Hellcat legal without putting a single blemish on your front bumper. At the time of this post March of 2019 there are 31 states require front plates while 19 only require 1 rear plate. If you are lucky enough to live in one of those 19 states, this product is NOT for you …and know the rest of us are a little jealous.
For me, getting around this law is not an option, I left my Sto-N-Sho off once and was immediately stopped on my commute home from work. Something to consider as well, we are putting an officer’s safety at risk, when they have to get out into traffic just to issue a warning about a law we are fully aware of. NJ fines for a missing plate are up to $100 and for those of you that like to sport “Euro Plates” this is considered displaying fictitious numbers which carries a fine of up to $500.00
The Sto-N-Sho is my favorite solution after using the lower mount for almost 4 years on my Challenger Scat Pack it was only obvious, my first mod for the Hellcat was the Sto-N-Sho mount centered on the bumper. Don’t forget to get a set of NJ legal License plate Frames to finish off the look. We have a plate law in Washington but I love my front plates. My challenger came with front holders that I love because it holds the plate tilted downward which with my custom U of W purple plates and custom license of the name of one of my dogs who died it looks exceptional. The tilt downward of holder makes for a very aggressive look.
That’s a great option for the ability to have a front plate and not having to drip holes in the beautiful front bumper! As alway GREAT install video brother!

I bought the same model for my HC and I love it. I don't need the front plate right now but every time I go back to Texas I put it on. I also used a smoked lens cover for the front plate as well.
Sadly that smoked cover is a nice ticket here in NJ.
good move. i put the stone n show on mine, too. i just beat up my plate a little, but that's my fault bc i hadn't gotten used to it. i like being able to take it off, whenever i want.

Ordered mine yesterday from Amazon got it today. Works great looks great. You can mount the plate in the middle of the bumper or off to the side. Looks like the plate it floating. Pretty sweet. . I’ll tell you guys though. You’ll need that star shaped screwdriver head to get the screws off your car bumper. And a small socket wrench 🔧.
Ouch on both cars I was fortunate enough to buy out of state cars so my bumper was not drilled 🙏

Just discovered these mounts recently when someone with another car demonstrated it out here in California. A little pricey, but it's terrific functionality and the bracket hides away really well. Great install video. Also, discovered that these are not universal fit LOL. Looks like they cover most makes and models though.

Contrary to a lot of car enthusiasts I actually support front plate laws. I've seen way too many videos of ppl w/o front plates hitting and running cars.

Just a heads up for those of us with Adaptive Cruise, this top mount version DOES WORK with adaptive cruise. This has been confirmed by Sto-N-Sho. The correct part number is sns1e.

I had a Sto-n-Sho on my scat for 2 weeks. The metal plate that the rods slide into were soft soldered instead of welded. I hit a bump, the solder seperated from the bracket and the plate and rods fell off with me running over the plate assembly. I was fortunate to not cause damage to my tires or undercarriage. If they would switch to welding instead of solder, I'd consider re buying again, but not until then.
Sounds odd I’ve rammed the plate into the ground a few times without issue. Got pics to send to them?
I hate frontplates. But im in Ohio we trying to pass a law to get rid of them
Same for NJ, we have tons of petitions. The problem is the state cars have plate scanners that capture and ID plates as cars pass. It's a great system to find stolen cars, outstanding warrants, expired tags, etc. I don't see them giving up the ability to do this especially in a vary heavy traffic state like NJ.
Only a few more weeks, bud! We won't have 'em! I'm getting so excited for it. XD

My state does not require a front plate. Old Honda had one, new Honda does not. Thumbs up for the respect for law enforcement.

In the front plate states it sucks, but the Sto-n-sho has been a great solution for me for 5 years now.

It's an easy fix I live in New York state and they require it too so all you do is use 3M double-sided tape

was wondering if you can flip this around so it's more downward. Also mounting more off center as well. I think that would look better than in the very center. So off center pointed down.
From the looks of it and the hole spacing it appears that this can be done.

I know this video is a year old, but I just viewed it. Last week I purchased a Challenger ScatPac and am dealing with front license plate issues. My question is; Can this mounting system be installed so the plate hangs downward and doesn’t sit in front of the bumper? My bumper has a dodge decal that’s centered and I don’t want to block the look..... Thank you for reviewing this product and showing the installation.
Yes, BUT you will need to score the oppossite rod. When inserted there are grooves on the right rod that catch in the spring pin to lock the plate in place. If you flip the sto-n-sho upside down you will need to create the grooves in the other rod. Also note this model is for the hellcat front bumper. There may be different mounting options for the scat.
This makes is so easy for people to steal the license plate. Somebody stole mine a couple years ago. Now, the only way to steal my license plate would be to rip apart the front bumper or steal the car.
Great review on the Sto N Sho. I have a 2020 Scat Wide on order (same front end as you) and was looking for a great solution to stay legal in CA but options for easy off. This is it! How are those simple black frames holding up to weather and wear? Was looking at something similar but in real carbon fiber. Additionally what bolts did you use?
Definitely a great product. I used the nylon bolts included with the Sto-n-sho and the frames are holding up well. (note: I don't drive the car in snow, ice)

Glad to help, I can't go more than a day or 2 without a plate before I get pulled over, this was a perfect solution.

It's a nice solution. Only part I don't like is that now my plates can be stolen simply by depressing the pin. So now I have to go through the trouble of filing a stolen plate report
Yep you need to get a solution that suits your needs. I don’t park in locations where the plate would likely be taken.

@@WorkPlayDrive Ok cool! I am not a fan of having a front plate at all... BUT I'm the event that I'm driving my long road trips, I think it's a good way to not have to deal with the cops... Especially on that level. When you took it off, the bracket was barely visible...if at all! I'm gonna jump on board n get this. We will see how good that stow plate looks in between the push bar when I get it. Thanks again!

Sadly mine had holes out of the dealers. I got a $15 ticket because it’s a “hazard” (had it in my window). But now I just have it ziptied on the lower grill and looks way better 👍🏽

The active cruise ones mount off the the side as to not block the all seeing eye.

The one in this video fits all standard and widebody challengers with the Hellcat front clip (i.e. no driving lights) the one I show on my Scat Pack is for the other front clip style with lights.

I haven’t use them personally but a lot of people say a product called “bumper plugs” works great
Body shop and paint you won't notice you had holes at all
In europe we use 3M car tape and directly stick the plate to the bumper
It works for the long term, but I remove the plate often, up to a few times a week during peak show season.
that jersey plate is pretty good lookin..like the colors better than ct where i live.
I envy Texas and CA with their sweet black plates.

Correct, the mount in this video is for the hellcat front bumper only (2015+ No foglights) The one I show at 1:33 is what you need for the 1320.

Based on your video, I bought the Diablo's and Bumper Plugs from Scalia. I have a 2019 Challenger RT and the Sto and Sho site on Amazon stated it would not fit. Can you confirm that? That sounds strange to me.
If you have the 2019 R/T with the fog lights the cent bumper mount will not fit. It only works on the hellcat front clip because it have screws on the lower grill. The under the bumper one should work and if you are unsure you can always call Big Mikes performance parts to ask them.

How were you able to remove the toggle bolts when you used that method?
It was a pain in the butt, that method is more of a permanent solution. To remove you need to let the back end fall then remove the maintenance pan to pull it out.

Yes however you would just need to file a notch in the other leg so it locks in place.

L, Na It looks as if the shaft is just notched, would it be possible to notch the other shaft with a dremmel?
The shaft is notched on one side only, so out of the box it's not possible. Even if you notch the other side, it does look a little weird with the bars now being visible from the top down.

No unfortunately the SXT grills do not have screws like the Hellcat grills. The SXT would require the lower mount.

I'm in Ontario Canada, I have a big ugly ass front plate mount drilled right into my bumper. Its definitely cringe worthy.
Over the winter, I'm taking the car in to my local collision shop and having them pull the bumper, fill the holes and repaint it...I hate it that much.
This plate setup is perfect. The only thing that I know will drive me nuts is that fact that the plate will shake and bounce around with every bump you hit. I'm wondering if there's any way to stiffen up the connection or even add more bumper material to have the plate rest on the bumper for more support.
I don't have any issues with rattle, even at low speed on bumpy roads. I don't feel you need any reinforcement.
As you may have seen from other videos I cannot stand stray rattles or vibrations and have gone as far as removing my entire interior out to fix them ;)

Is it legal to place the plate on the inside of the front windshield on lower passenger side?
I would say no, while it's not written into the law for NJ it is clear that the plate needs to be between 12" and 48" from the ground on the front of the vehicle. While you can assume the windshield is the front of the vehicle, friends have been ticketed for putting their plate in the windshield.

Scat Pack - it depends on what state your in. In Texas you can’t. Cops will say it’s a hazard or it obstructs the view 😑. I had to pay a $15 ticket because of that

You dont have to worry about putting officers lives in danger, if they dont want to risk it for the high pay, they can quit. Not to mention Bergen county cops are jerks in general. I know where that picture is in the cliffs, which is part of the reason why I left the county. Mercer county cops are MUCH better. Had my scat for 2 months and so far no one has bugged me yet. Im sure a couple days at the shore will change that.

Yes car wash will do much more damage to your paint than it will to the sto-N-sho
9:22 It rattles around too much and those new flat plates (non stamped ) are the worst. Three different fonts.
