    Thank you sir you made my concept very clear even in 5 years in B. sc or M.sc I actually didn't have a clear idea about Spinel we only used the lengthy calculation of CFSE of both A2+ as well as B3+ both in tetrahedral as well as octahedral geometry

    But in a/c to CFSE IT will be high spin.

      Yes, that would be high spin as O is weak-field ligand

    thanks your video helped me alot. I have another question. there are 2 spinel structures CuFe2O4 and MnFe2O4. which has higher magnetization? how do i calculate the magnetization for spinels?

      MnFe2O4 should have higher magnetism, as it has greater no. of unpaired electrons.
      Cu one is the normal and Mn one is mixed spinel

    Sir in this method CoCo2O4 is become inverse spinal. But in books it is mentioned as normal spinal. How can i explain it?

      co +3 always form low spin except with halogen , NCS-,S2-.

    sir you told that in ACr3O2 ,Cr has max CFSE;but in pracence of O2- ,CO is d^6 Low Spin then Co^3+ has maximam CFSE in octahedral fild because in t^2g has 6 electron,CFSE=24 dq of 1Co^3+ metal

      Bcoz Al has bigger size as compared to Fe that's why Al undergoes octahedral void... & Fe in 1/2 octa. 1/2 tetra void....
      & in this case as sir says.. It undergoes normal spinel

      Co3O4 as we cn write it as CoCo2O4...Here Co2+will be taken in High spin n Co3+ wl b taken low spin (Co3+ always form low spin except with halogen,-NCS,-S2)..

    As the size of Mg²+ is larger than that of Al³+. So how can it get fit into the Tetrahedral void respect to it's size?

    sir in book its written that if B(+3) cfse is in octahedral is greater than A(+2) cfse in terrahedral then its norml.spinel......but u have mentioned cfse in octahedral in both d cases

    O is a weak ligand therefore sipnels are high spin not low spin complexes

    Hello sir... in that... chromines u told no bivalent is having greater cfse than 1.2 but what happens instead of the weak ligand i.e., Oxygen if we put strong ligand like co automatically the d orbital spliting becomes low spin then it should occupy the t2g then it will be more than 1.2 if for ex d5 low spin in this case cfse is 2.4 then what happens...

    Sir what will be the case for VCr2O4? Both V(II) And Cr(III) has same CFSE in octahedral field. So is this a mixed spinel or anything else? Help me please..

      If the cfse is same ,its normal spinel as both the elements are transition elements.

    Sir what about nicr2o4. You said that cfse of cr3+ will be great than cfse of ni2+. But both have cfse of 12dq in octahedral field

      Will it be due to fact that cr is in +3 oxidation state and ni in +2 oxidation state

      In that case we have to consider Td field CFSE value which is 0.8 in Ni 2+ and hence lower than Cr3+

      I think ZnMn2O4 is spinel. CoAl2O4 is inverse spinel.
