    I think dithiolene should contain a double bond.....plus is there a necessity that MLCT ligands should contain pi electron to have this metal to pi* transition to take place???

    A question here. The electronic spectra of [CrF6]3- shows three bands at 14900cm-1, 22400cm-1 and 34800cm-1. the delta not(10 Dq) value is? Sir how to solve this

      i think answer will be 14900 cm_ .it is cr(+3) high spin system i.e d3 system hence in orgel diagram we will get three transition
      1) v 1= A2g(F) _ T2g (F)=14900 cm -1
      2) V2 = A2g (F)_ T1g (F)= 22400 cm-1
      3) v3 = A2g(F)_ T1g(P) =34800 cm-1.
      and it is fix that the energy gap betn A2g - T2g will be the delo or del t .
