    My dad Collects Diamonds and pearls..
    He said he found a Spinel under the Ground of The mountains
    It was Like a Fire Orange Spinel And it was shiny
    Afterwards, We Met a Expertise That we might know If it is a rare Gem or Just a common one.
    It took Months And The results were Very High
    Means it’s Rare
    The expertise said, “This cost More than millions of dollars”
    We payed Him and We kept it On a safety bank.
    It was Our luckiest day of our life

    -1.2 > -0.4 , what about the minus sign? really confused

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here negative sign indicates how much the energy of system is lowered that inturn is related to stability. Greater the lowering of energy, greater will be the stabilization. So dont take the true mathematical meaning here. Just take the absolute values otherwise.

      Yes. You are right. And according to rule 5, there are exceptions to all the rules.

    Sir if both A2 & B3 have zero CFSE then what will be spinel? 🤔

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So no dependance on CFSE. Both are acting like d0 or d10 or simply like non transitional.

    why is Fe 3+ high spin? in the NiFe2O2 example?

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is high spin, that means the ligands must be weak field. Here the oxide is normally a weak field ligand unless the metal ion is very small and with high charge density like Co3+.

    Can you please explain Co3O4

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look at Co3+. Greater charge and small radius. Hence even though oxide is a weak field ligand, the Co3+ ion is low spin ion with high CFSE. I think you got it. If not, please go through www.adichemistry.com/inorganic/cochem/spinels/spinel-structures.html

    Fe 3+ is always high spin?????

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      high or low are relative terms. In case of Fe(III) too, there are two states among which one is with more spin than the other. For example, in presence of strong field ligand, there is only one unpaired electron while in case of weak field, there are 5 such.

    how about Mn3O4?

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2) Mn3O4 is a normal spinel since the Mn2+ ion is a high spin d5 system with zero LFSE. Whereas, Mn3+ ion is a high spin d4 system with considerable LFSE.

  • @tanaykundu1998
    @tanaykundu1998 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How about Co3O4?

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Co3+ has more charge density and hence it is a low spin ion. Now you can decide.

    • @AdiChemAdi
      @AdiChemAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even in the presence of weak field oxo ligands, the Co3+ is a low spin d6 ion with very high CFSE. It is due to high charge on Co3+. Hence all the Co3+ ions occupy the octahedral sites. You will find more at: www.adichemistry.com/inorganic/cochem/spinels/spinel-structures.html
