    Thanks for all the work, from you and the Tasmota community in general. Your description of the "old way" meant I could still use that even through the current firmware is semi-broken. (The bug is filed, and they're working on it. Unfortunate that it was not working over the holiday.) Regardless, thanks to your simple guide, I have a happy working Sonoff Pro. Hours of re-linking, and it's all back and happy (plus a few sensors I couldn't add before), and the old Sonoff (non pro) flashed to the router firmware to extend the range of my system farther.
    One bit you may want to include is how to backup the firmware on the router before flashing the new firmware on for the CC2652. Always good to have a backup, just in case you want to revert to factory later.

    Good video. I just got my zigbee bridge working. I spent hours wondering why it didn't work first time as I didn't run cc.flash(). It wasn't in the video and I listened to the video after a few hours of wiping the config and starting again and hear the magic words if you have run cc.flash command. Also in your documentation it says and you don’t want a coordinator backup, run: cc.flash() which to me means I didn't want that so I didn't run it and now I know why nothing worked. Anyway I got there in the end thanks to the great video. Thanks

    The link in the blog post for the firmware doesn't work. I tried using tasmota's own web flashing tool but it installs the incorrect firmware when you get to the cc.flash() stage.
    I'll work this out later, but we need an update either from tasmota or from someone in the know.

  • @skywalknotpossible

    apologies as this might not be the best forum to ask, but is this still necessary in 2024 to flash the rf bridges (sonoff / broadlink ...) to connect the devices like you have? I have the BF-315 for all my blind motors, and honestly I'm feeling confident going down the flash route unless I really have to. Thank you!

      If your automation works, I don't think there is a need to do anything about it. People like to overdo things, when sometimes leaving it as is makes more sense - I love new tech and protocols but it's all about usefulness and moderation

    Hi
    I have the sonoff zigbee bridge (Not the Pro) and flushed it with Tasmota. Verry happy.
    I was so happy and as I have 4 of the bridges, I started the next and flushed it as well, only to find out that I can only have one in ZHA 😢. Is there another options for Home Assistant or should I revert to SonOff, sadly I do not have the original sonoff firmware?
    Help please. 😁

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need original firmware to revert. Without router firmware you can only use it in coordinator mode. ZHA isnt inaccessible just a bit more annoying to use than Z2M (my personal opinion) perhaps sell these locally or gift to someone and get either Sonoff dongle or pro version once the router firmware is mature

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have slightly different way of interacting with z2t having built in some basic automations. as long as you can pass the details from your sensor to Nodered it will work just fine

    But when flashing, I have this error :
    The firmware binary is invalid (magic byte=FF, should be E9)
    In your web page, you explain that now we need to flash 2 times because tasmota32-zbbrdgpro.factory.bin is too big.

    Nice tutorial, everything went through without any problem, my sonoff bridge pro was switched to tasmota bridge and it works. Unfortunately I have a problem after some time sunoff (tasmota) stops working does not respond to ping, it is still connected to the AP receives signals from the sensors, but the IP address it received is not reachable, this happens after some time and stops responding, only restart helps and it will work for a while. Have you noticed this issue with yourselves?

      Try different firmware revisions. Also make sure your power supply is good. Try another usb charger and cable as they can cause instability by voltage drop especially if you are using a longer usb cable

    Hi I have exactly the same board, but I am not able to flash it, better to say not able to get even chip_id answer. I have connected all pins as you did, through the soldered header, powering via USB port while keeping the GIPO0 grounded, but I can get COM running. looking through scope the TX from the board sends very faint distiorted signal, when the request via RX line is received. To me it looks like very strong pull-up. Any idea? thank you for helping / sharing.

    Can you as an alternative option also reconfigure it as a Zigbee Router instead after flashed it like that? It was mentioned on In the linked GitHub discussion that a Z-Stack 3.x.0 ZNP Zigbee Coordinator ZNP stack can be configured in router mode in Tasmota by using a fake 0xFFFF PanID flag but not explained exacly how to do that and then how to pair it as a Zigbee Router?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As the instructions I read about it weren't clear I don't know yet. I assume that you will be able to push the router firmware eventually as you would with other cc2652s but we will wait a bit longer for the hex file that can be pushed this way.
      There is a button on the device so we could in theory use it to trigger the pairing mode.

      The most common issue is not enough current from USB port. This is down to your FTD not providing enough? This would be my first take, then I'd double check the wiring and that the GND is actually pulled on GPIO00

    it doesn't work in any way neither with the nspnel nor the factory version nor from the web interface. The last step always fails: the flash of the controller does not give errors but only that it started the check remains from the log but then nothing happens.
    Maybe it's not compatible with 12.3 anymore?

      No errors indicate timeouts. I'd check if you are correctly connected with the device.

      @@notenoughtech This is the most problems I've had with Tasmotizing a device, and I have quite a few different Sonoff devices Tasmoized already. With this Zigbee Bridge Pro, I had to try 3 times before succeeding. Anyway, I found a Tasmota command that can change the Zigbee channel: ZbConfig {"Channel": 20}. Simple as that, but do it before you have any devices connected so you won't have to re-pair.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not possible as the firmware contains the MAC of your unit and if you don't back it up - it's lost
