    Nice! It's more fun if you don''t let it pre-heat so it just spit streams of flaming fuel, haha.

    No nauseating and pointless narration and gurning at the camera, just clear and speedy camera shots and lighting. Great sound too. I am about to buy one of these old tin cans.

    Great Restore Martin as always. Bit undecided on the silence as you impart so much knowledge as you go along. There's always banter which is good. All the family enjoy watching your videos, and tbh we will always watch your videos with or without sound, whatever you choose. Just keep making them as you have an avid following.

    Hi, my Dad had one of these, with which I used to keep the driveway clear of weeds. They always grew back though. There should be a metal cover which hinges on the two brackets sticking up on top of the burner shield. Once the burner was up to temperature, the cover was hinged up and over the top of the burner to cover the flame shooting out of the front and contained the generated heat over the ground being treated.

    I always love your videos, I've said this before and you've always thanked me but they are so relaxing to watch. Also on a side not its too bad we dont have more of these in the states. Im 37 and never seen anyone around here use them. With the massively contaminated rivers, from the chemical weed killer run off leading to high cancer rates, ect. Its to bad we dont use this technique more often. But then again im just a guy from Iowa so what do I know😉. Anyways great video sir thank you.

    Bloody beautiful ! I remember as a little boy in the 60's watching my dad using his "Baring" flame thrower.
    What are the two lugs on top of the burner muzzle and do you think the decals would have been handed so they both pointed forward
    Mike

    • @onewheelnut
      @onewheelnut 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The LUGS are for fitting an optional "hood" which help keep the flames in a narrower area when a little windy

    We use ours on the allotments, paraffin is way too expensive so we use kerosene (heating oil) way cheaper. We experimented with Diesel but it was too difficult to keep running. Next thing we knew we were asked for advice from another allotment holder who had one......."Can I run mine on Petrol??"... 😱 It's a good job we like him and quickly said "Only if you want to die!" LOL 😄

  • @Cubrider

    When I started watching I thought Christ he's gone too far this time, he's never going to get that working. But credit were credit is due. I would have like an explanation how it works though. I'm guessing that was a sort of wick but do you have to keep pumping the pressure up and what's the coil for?

    • @RetroHax
      @RetroHax  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The coil is there so it can heat up a lot of fluid around the heat source just like in a hot water tank.
