    I had to look up this music to confirm it does sound bad because I thought my gameboy speaker was going out when I played the moon level. Luckily it was just bad music.

    all 2 game boy games already beated my girlfriend has nearly all european game boy games and this and part 2 are included when she was 5 years old (1990) and in september of that year the game boy came out every 2 weeks she goes with her father to stores to buy game boy games

    Why does the music in this version sound so bad compared to the NES version? The NES version doesn't use the PCM channel at all, so it should be possible to port the music to the Game Boy exactly as it sounds on the NES. In fact, if they really wanted to, they could have made it sound BETTER. The only thing I can think of for why they didn't just port the music is cartridge space, but that's a bit of a stretch.

      It doesn’t sound that bad. Just some orchestration that could’ve done better, in particular the vibrato effects and the noise channel/drums.
