Pitstick Farms - John Deere DB90 Planter

- Operator Curt of Pitstick Farms, drives a John Deere 8345R tractor that pulls the planter, rigged for transport, onto the next field. The rig is extended and maneuvered into the corner of the field. Later, at the next field corner, the DB90 is backed into position where the electronics in the tractor will place the seeds while minimizing any wasteful overlap.
My appreciation to the folks at Pitstick Farms for their cooperation in the making of these last three videos. Thanks Richard, Dale, Mike, Curt, Tom and Gary. Check them out on facebook. / pitstickfarms - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I remember when my grandad used to farm those were the good days . I used to like going to the shed and see all the john deere equipment laying around .
Bee keeping
Bill, another great video!! Keep them coming please!!
What a great planter! Increadible
Yeah I agree. This technology is very expensive up-front, but in the long run it is amazing just how much money it saves you. I know a lot of the old-timers find it difficult and confusing to use, but when they see more money coming in, it makes them reconsider.
Those Bauer Bilt planters are manufacured about 12 miles from here in Paton Iowa. They were just sold to John Deere.
Hi. 36 rows, I believe. Thanks for watching.
Bill
Really is. Thanks for watching.
Bill
Nice setup there
Dumb question based on many years' observation. Are the new high tech air planters any more effective at avoiding bare spots in rows? Growing up on the farm it was always sort of "hit and miss" at times with row crops. That was 30 plus years ago and I miss it but I followed different life paths. My hats off to the American Farmers!
This is the best farming video I have ever seen. Amazing how he maneuvered that huge seeder around. And I'm really happy to see a video at last where ridge markers are being used. I was beginning to think that ridge markers were an invention in the fertile minds of the creators of Farming Simulator 2013. But, now I know better.
Been around longer than any FS. Going back to the days before GPS. "Fertile minds" ...ha. I like that.
Wow, that is some contraption!
Why two solid rubber wheels closing? 1 spiked side seems to really improve the germination rate
That, my friend, is today's farming:)
Good !fantastic from italy
Thanks for nice comment.
Bill
I need a job can I hellp me
Nice planter and tractor. I think the field is a little too small for such a large planter.

Ah ok.
But don't you have to record the first round in the GPS to calculate the rest ? (if you know what I mean :-) ) The GPS has to know the size of the field, no ?
oh,very nice,jd n°1
We have a 8320R on our farm planting cotton.
that's some serious material :o
is that tractor the right size? or can you putt a quad trac on there and it will work fine.
8345r john deere
Awesome
Amazing
Why not use the Greenstar? Its antenna on tractor.
Whats the point of a ridge marker? i dont get it!
Holds much seed the hopper?
You have a job for a Brazilian on this farm ?
Jolismar Wagner
.
He's planting the headlands, most people don't use the GPS for that.
show!!!!!!!!!
do u have to put the tractor in neutral when unfolding the planter? great video
elviss13 Yes
Interesting. Looked a lot like how we unfold our 90' harrow. Back up the tractor to spread the wings. Should known JD has it fully powered
@Christopher Carlson All brands of folding planters are hydraulically folded
I will also take this sowing machine
Yeah, you're right. The GPS still logs the path of the tractor and maps the perimeter of the field even though autosteer isn't engaged.
looks good! Do yall put one pass or two on the headlands?
An I thought a 12 row kinze was big.

That just looks cumbersome....
Why start an endrow like that? At least make it easy to start with the combine.....
Hey
yaxshi zoʻr
i still see people doing that up here too,, South Dakota,, im amazed at the guys that have all this tech stuff in their cab,, but don't use it.. I have a tech business , and thats what i do. handle their data, and show them what all that money they spend can do. teach to set A/B lines an use them the next year. Make Maps, and try to keep them moving.
how much horse is that tractor?

Ever notice most these farmers are ashamed of where they live. Not all but a big number of them are.
