It would be great to know more information about the size of equipment that in the video. I am a retired farmer but still have farming in my blood. It amazing the size of the machinery that is being used on today's farms.
Could I ask a question of someone more knowledgeable than me? Why are they going through this process if they're gonna run a planter over it later. Does the cultivator loosen then soil so the planter can function and do it part easier? Always lookin' to learn.
+bodgaard Cultivation has various objectives, some of them are: Mixing in crop residue so it will start do decompose. Loosen the soil and remove compaction so root can grow better. Remove old crops roots and kill weed and other plants so the don't mix with the main crop. Creating a fine soil "Seed Bed" so seeds can germinate. Sometimes cultivation is also used to bring moist soil into the surface, but I doubt that is the case here.
Why don't you have weights on the front of your tractor? It may reduce the power hop you sometimes see. Also why not no till the beans into that field instead of working it and letting the sun dry out all the moisture? Im sure you are gonna put a pre chemical down anyhow. No till conserves moisture and cuts your machinery expense.
Most years in northern IL the growing season is fairly wet so drying out the soil with a cultivator is not much of an issue. Also working the ground will warm up the seed bed and potentially allow faster germination with higher soil temps.
+Craig Lambert Note the ring weights mounted inside the wheels. Front axle has slightly less to account for engine weight. Very little weight transfer to be seen. These tractors are set up perfectly for this task.
If you don't know, then it's not for you. :-) jk. You can find it on the JD website, try 'build your own'. I believe it cost somewhere in the neighbor of 300k.
Thank you for this. Although the tractors are much larger and fancier, i still brings back a lot of fond memories.
*This is the finest video of the 9560r I've come across.*
this is the best video I have seen of the 9560r
Great machines for very big acres. Is it to discuss the advantage tyre-chassis against a caterpillared gear.

Very impressive. Especially the GPS steering.
Two beautiful pieces of Machinery! (-:
The cultivator is a John Deere 2210. You can find more details on their official website.
Good videos of big John Deere's at work. Many thanks!
The 2210 cultivator with five sections is 43 or 46 feet wide depending on the size of the mainframe.
Nice. Always good to see the big Deere.
Congratulations, it's wonderful ! What are tire mount ?

K aww a as I’m m m lmzz a z
cool, i think with the double tires it will drive much better through very deep mud, havent seen yet a video testing that.
How wide is the cultivator that the 9560R is pulling? How many acres does this farm have to plant?
Why not vertical plow, it would drain off excess water but still kepp the soil hydrated for dry summers, this doesn't
how many acres are farms that use tractors this big?

Always lookin' to learn.
My seeds are blown in the ground by compressed air
