    Ooh, I did L2B in 2018 - I did it with British Heart Foundation back then and the route was very different! I'm signed up to do it with Ultra Challenge this year, looking forward to going a different way ☺️ not looking forward to the pain 😅

    Currently training for one of the Action Challenges, and just wanted to say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this video.
    Formatted really well, and kept my full attention throughout the whole video - very informative and has given a real idea as to what I can expect. Thanks!

    Thanks for posting this. I was also there, albeit walking, so it was good to see the course again. Also since that's the only ultramarathons event I've been on, it's very interesting/ encouraging to hear your positive opinion of the organisation. Thanks!

    Superb video. As I consider this race I noticed you encountered the dreaded fearless animal .....the 🐮 cow. Where there lots of fields with scary cows and were they all ok🤔

    I hoping to do this one in the next year or so.. great vid. I know you said there was good course markings, but was there any point you was worried about losing the course and getting lost.. as this is my biggest fear.. getting lost and walking around in circles lol..
    Also.. what kind of training did you need to do? Thanks for any info you can give.

    First off great video. Always enjoy your stuff. This event looks amazing! Absolutely beautiful. Could definitely be my next big one after Comrades. You mentioned “the money that you pay”. What was the entry fee? Need to consider costs having to come from SA.

      Hi Shaun, thanks for the comment. I think if you book really early its about £125. The nearer it gets to race day the more I think it goes up in cost (I booked last year.) Not 100% on that but I think so. There was an American ultra runner that flew over to do this race. I spoke to her briefly and she seemed really pleased to have done it. Hope this helps.

    Hello Rocket Runner. Fantastic video and documentation of your experience on the course.
    I've got a few questions about the race. Would you mind if I messaged you directly? What platform would be best for this (email, social media)? Thank you for your time and consideration.

    This is absolutely incredible! You are a legend... how did you train?
    I did the 25km yesterday through London and it nearly killed me... but I’d love to complete London to Brighton.. x

    Do you have to be very fit to do this ultra marathon? I'm thinking about doing it but I'm not sure I'm fit enough.

    What were the aid stations like for savoury snacks? I’m hopefully doing it this year but suggest with lots of sweet things

      I ran the South Coast Challenge with them in '16. The selection at the aid stations is excellent and you are fully catered for savory snacks. They also provide hot food at the major stations and a selection of gels and performance drinks.

    Awesome vid! I would probably die if I tried to run 100km! In retrospect, do you think the Ultraboost ST's were a good choice for this event?

    • @rocketrunner4381
      @rocketrunner4381  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for the comment. Good question, and yes I do. The reason I think the ST's were good is because I didn't get blisters. Yes my feet were hurting a bit towards the end but that's to be expected with that distance. There were times more grip would have been nicer, and I knew that grip would not be great, but I decided to go with foot comfort over grip. Hence my choice. I saw a lot of people suffering with blisters so I think my choice was ok. Now I am wondering what to wear for next big race :-)

      That's good to hear! I actually bought a pair of the ST's in no small part due to your review. On a side note, I went ahead and shared this video on Reddit. Here's hoping you get some more views/subs!

      I hope you enjoy your STs. Mine have kind of become my go to shoes for long grindy runs as they just seem to work. Thanks for the share

    Hi, Great video. I am from Slovakia. I have a question. When you ran 100 km. Did you run all day ?. And no sleep?.

    • @rocketrunner4381
      @rocketrunner4381  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Andrew, thanks for the comment. I ran a chunk of the day. I walked most of the steep hills for example. I didn't run at night, I walked through the night at a brisk pace. No sleep. Come the morning, I had no running left in my legs apart from a short dash for the final 100 yards to run across the finish line. I hope this helps.

    Nice one! I am doing the cotswold challenge at the end of the month. Which shoes / pack did you use on the day / night if you don't mind me asking?

    • @rocketrunner4381
      @rocketrunner4381  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Luke, good luck with your race. For the pack I used a Hoka pack which did me well: th-cam.com/video/AHL-Bc7kXlo/w-d-xo.html
      For the shoes I used the Adidas Ultraboost ST:
      th-cam.com/video/lXOCQYW7sWk/w-d-xo.html
      For shoes, I would say wear a shoe you have used that really looks after your feet for long miles. I have shoes with more grip than these, but I wanted comfort over the long miles and in this regard, the ST's worked well.
