Comparing Manjrekar’s batting and commentary to Dravid’s batting and coaching is like comparing a pocket calculator to a supercomputer-one occasionally gets the job done, and the other redefines the entire field.
It's fun to read the comments of those who probably never even played club cricket in their lives judge the knowledge and experienced of seasoned international players. Give credit where it is due. Of course Dravid is a proven great, but it was nice to hear Manjrekar open up candidly at the cost of getting slammed by the hoi polloi.
Such a broad minded player and person; Rahul Dravid has been. Never reacts badly on the field nor does he give any bad comment later. I recollect Alan Donald swearing at Dravid after being hit for a 6 and RD never spoke about it. For him the nation and team comes ahead and this was reflected in his playing days as captain too.
He is a commentator it’s his job to speak criticise but guys like Jaddu shami acts to over smart specially shami who speaks too much.a player’s job is to reply through his performance not words
Exactly, I hate this kind of behavior from players and also their toxic fans. This is the reason Australia have so many world cups, as their fans and board don't worship players or individual performance.
Sanjay - why don't you analyse your career. You were the star in 1989 - 90 in WI - bouncy tracks - 4 man pace attack, Pakistan - the second best bowling attack. What went wrong - Australia, South Africa - bouncy tracks? Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman pulled the carpet from below your feet.
Forget Paddy Upton. Forget BCCI head. Forget every cricketers parents. Sanjay Manjrekar is the greatest motivator of Indian cricketers. He is like the worst teacher in school that you want to prove wrong. Let him continue his service to the nation to motivate our players.
Nothing wrong in criticising Rahul Dravid (if GOD can be criticised, mocked and called selfish then Rahul cannot be an exception)…Rahul is a great cricket player (one of my favourites) but he did have a selfish and jealous side as well in his days.
Average of 30 against Ambrose and Walsh? He only played one series against them where he averaged 72. That was the second highest in the series from both teams and that was in West Indies. He played equally well against other great bowlers. He belongs to an era when our batsman started putting a strong challenge against top bowlers in overseas conditions.
He is a commentator and cricket expert .His work is to criticise when players do not perform. So does harsha and other commentators like Simon Doull, Jeoffery Boycott . Simon Doull even said that current Indian players are not good players of spin they are just as good as other foreign players. Virat Rohit are not up to the level of Dravid and Sachin. Earlier player used to understand that they are doing their job so they use to make cordial relations with commentators. Saurabh Ganguly despite being a friend criticised Dravid after cwc lost . Players were and are going to be criticised and applauded for their performance. Dravid Ganguly Sachin VVS all have gr8 relationship with Harsha , Manjhrekar, Shastri despite being criticised by them in their time.
@@prp3778 dude i have seen all commentators..but Sanjay is the worst despite india winning the test against australia he downplayed despite many indian players playing well he downplays them, he has the diarohhea of negative thoughts
@patilnaveenkumarreddy4059 He always favours Mumbai players for sure. I am not denying that but this is not particularly about him . Today's generation of players can't take criticism at all like Kohli. He was taunting Harsha bhogle in an interview in IPL i guess . Today's generation players can't digest the fact that they will be criticised when they will not perform. A great player like Dravid was criticised after wtc lost and was egregiously criticised by his good friend and once a teammate Saurabh Ganguly. Ganguly even said that your team is not playing like champions they are showing mediocrity and even said that your coaching is not as great as the player you were. Dravid didn't threw tantrums neither he hold any grudges. Even the legend Gavaskar was mocked by Indian fans when he criticised Kohli. What today's cricketer wants is to crave positive things out of a defeat . That will not going to happen . If you play well you will be appreciated and if you will underplay then get ready to take bullets. Kohli Sharma and team India performance in odi and test since 3 months is not up to mark. They are getting thrashed by local spinners in their home ground. What will they expect. I think India's good time had gone the moment Dravid left .
The difference between Dravid and Sanjay are there for the world to see, I don’t think you need to explain it to anyone. That’s why he took your place in the Indian test side.
You were a flop player in your playing days. Why you didn't you apply your so called expert advice to improve your own game to prolong your career. You have no qualification to advise great players like Kohli who has achieved thousands times than what you have achieved.
He averaged 37 and 33 in tests and ODIs respectively plus he averaged 55 with 10000 runs in first class. I know he is the son of Vijay Manjrekar and also tagged as next Sunil Gavaskar, but did not succeed that much. I don't call him a flop cricketer though!
U can't label a player "flop" if he/she represents india even once. Sanjay manjrekar played many matches for India. You can perhaps say he didn't reach the heights he was expected to reach
Sanjay manjrekar was probably a much better batsman than a lot of indian batters from last 10 years or so. He was touted as a heir descendent of sunil gavaskar and was pretty good during 1989-1991. But failures in australia tour and rise of Sachin by that time not just took the limelight from him but also he was never the Sanjay manjrekar of 1989-1991 ever. He was in and out of the team after a disastrous SA tour in 1992 and emergence of Vinod kambli during that time made things even worse for him. He would still somehow get to play until 1996 before he hit his rock bottom (the times when Dravid,Ganguly and laxman made their debuts, which was the last nail in the coffin)
The question is can a commentator be a critique??... commentators dont write blog posts and columns and defend why they say what they say. So they are just comments and opinions...
This guy criticised all the people in the world except himself.
very true man!
No wonder, he is "Verbal Diarrhea" for a reason!

One of the cleanest and understated legends in world cricket. Rahul Dravid.
0:15 is very good and the reason I love such commentators.
Rahul Dravid: A true gentleman of the gentleman's sport

In short, Dravid said i don't care 😊
One of the best player of modern era
Rahul Dravid The Legend
Indeed Rahul Dravid is one of the most respected cricketers not just in India but across the world
Who would care about the opinion of a failed cricketer like sanjay
Everybody has opinion.. if you don't want ignore
Manjrekar is less of cricket commentator and more of media content creator, I can any given day be a better cricket commentator than Manjrekar
Nothing wrong in criticising Rahul Dravid (if GOD can be criticised, mocked and called selfish then Rahul cannot be an exception)…Rahul is a great cricket player (one of my favourites) but he did have a selfish and jealous side as well in his days.
Are yaar 😅
GOAT OF Cricket Rahul Dravid 🏏

Sanjay is by far the worst commentator. Always negative and repetitive. Can't imagine any cricket audience actually liking him. 😢
Sanjay Majrekar a wonderful batsman, but never contributed solidly for India. He should not criticize anyone.
Tu karega 😂
Rahul😊😊 😊😊😊
The commenters here are such idiots😅

I want Manjrekar to be the advisor in my life. I will find everything else to do except what he says.
Mangrekar should volunteerly resign from commentary for the benefit of Indian cricket and fans
Who r u to judge other batsman . U r not even a good batter . Only because u r from Mumbai u got chance in Indian team

Its been so good not listening to you in the commentary box for almost a year. We also won the world cup. Please don't come back to commentary box 🙏

Manjrekar criticising Dravid is like a first class cricketer crying for not getting selected for the country job.
At which level you played cricket below.
