I wish every review video would be this relaxing AND informative at the same time. Great job man, not to mention, you make me want this lens so much :D
My goodness that was SO much more enjoyable to watch than your average in-your-face youtube jock. Thanks for bringing some dignity to the internet. Also, good review!
I like this review. Excellent model to reveal the beauty in the lens via a beautiful woman. I like the style of the video shoot, editing, and script. Thank you
I recently picked up this lens in a GH5, Oly 12-40 Pro and Leica 25mm 1.4 combo for $650 AUD used in mint condition. Though I've had a lot of experience with various Olympus lenses. I've yet to do so with the Leica 25mm but after watching this. I'm excited to see what kind of results I can get. I actually feel a little reassured after seeing this wonderful video. Keep up the great work Paul!
Thanks for the perfectly informing video! I was looking for a good prime lens to create the best bokeh for my Lumix G9 and this lens came up. Your video pretty much reaffirmed my desire to get this lens. Keep up the amazing content! You deserve more subs!
I don't know if it's the grading or my expectations, but the P4K footage has a certain look that the Panasonic footage doesn't have. It seems to have less of a digital edge, maybe due to better highlight retention and shadow detail. It's subtle but noticeable.
Thank you for this video ~ !!! I really, really like your presentation style, and you have a nice, relaxing narrative voice. I have this lens ~ ! (And by the way, your photo model is very nice too)!
One of my favourite m43 lens is the 25mm f1.7 but I bricked that during a lens firmware update in my em1 body today. Considering get the 1.4 instead and found your video.
For about 3/4 years the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 was the lens I had on my GX80 for about 90% of the time for everything, with the other lens being the 14mm f2.5 which was also fantastic. Both lenses are arguably perfect, small, fast, quick AF, silently AF, and close focus distance. I've since sold all my Lumix gear and switched to a Fujifilm xe3 with viltrox 33mm f1.4. Without question though, the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 is perhaps the perfect standard lens of any system when you consider the quality and insanely low price. You can find them used for £99.00 I've seen in some places.
@@jyexe525 only used it for photography - the 25mm f1.7 is good if you want to get shallow depth of field and like the focal length. It's also like a semi-macro.
Wow, the color grading is spot on, new subscriber here. Could you make a tutorial on how you approach your grading? i have this lens and i wish i could hopefully do something as good as you.
I just found your channel, immediately subscribed, very nice videos! I have the cheaper Lumix 25/1.7, which I think is still pretty good, especially for its price. However I prefer the 20mm focal length over the 25.
All the scenes look beautiful! I'm curious... Did you use any filter with this lens? What was the software you used to upgrade the colour? What was the camera you used?
I have the 20mm 1.7 with my GX85 with the 25mm 1.4 on the way. I started using 50mm again a lot on my S1H and it made me want it on my travel camera again, your video helped convince me. Thanks! Also can I ask what color profile you're using on the GX85? It looks great. I've really been struggling to dial in a good color profile for travel video on it
hahaha you make me wants to buy the 25mm .. i'm more of a video shooter than still photography, one thing that hold me back from buying it is because there is no ois on the lens.. but you make me reconsider it again after watching this video and see your video shoot result..
Nice review. I love this lens. I am not the most experienced photographer. But when you take impromptu casual portrait with this lens... it frequently produces shots that take your breath away and look far above the average. (Oh... and I hate that far-too-big-and-ugly lens hood!)
I would go with the 25mm f1.4. 50mm equivalent FOV is more practical to cover more scenario than 60mm. And the color from the 25mm is more pleasing to me
i like your review thanks good job ... i Have a question anybody here have experience with this lens on Panasonic Lumix dmc gx7 ? please i would like to buy it for video ( steady cam ) and also for photography pls share you experience if's there any ...regards .
Hi Paul your videos looks awesome! Do you prefer the 25mm 1.4 over the 17mm 1.8? I'm trying to decide between these two lenses! I would just like to walk around and shoot photos and videos in a similar style to you. Thanks 😊
Your lens reviews are so interesting to watch - it's like watching an ASMR video, but for photographers!!

With this video you made me fall in love with this lens (and focal lens). Now it has became my favourite prime lens out of the very few lenses I own.
Another great review. Thanks Paul. Please update frequently. Especially about MFT.
Absolutely loved this. Need more Panasonic MFT content from you!
This was so inspirational, I want to start shooting video instead of photos now
Thanks Paul. I was thinking of buying this lens Version ii.
Thanks! It is nice review from your personal experience. I may bag this lense soon for my GH6. Keep up!! Cheers!
Love this video mate.. such nice realistic dof and field of view test for this lens... thanks!!
Thanks for the video. Really help me with my final decision. It's will be my next purchase. Thanks and keep going
Cool review. Just bought the 35mm so here goes for a lot of practice. Thanks for upload.
The observatory spot is so good for night photography, with fast lens
Great lens fantastic images thanks
Paul, great footages. 👍🏻 Enjoyed till the very end.
Glad you enjoyed the video John!
great review for filmmakers, thanks a lot for talking about af, bokeh and showing us samples.

Very nice footage.
just snagged a used one for me gh6. looking forward to it

It is one of my fav lenses along with the 15mm I think probably my two most used

But the Leica is better ? I have just the lens kit 12-60 on my G80 for now
@@jyexe525 The Leica 25mm f1.4 has much better colour and contrast but s longer minimum focus distance, hence why I never bought it.

One suspects when paired with 135 still it would make for some interesting results. Cheers.
Would love this lens on the Panasonic gh5s
I bought mine in a clearance sale from John Lewis for under £125 (153 usd), a bargain! Great lens.
Thanks 😊

i had this lens but hated it. probably because of my noctricron. But i want a 25 mm again and i'm going to get the 25mm 1.7 this time.
What Panasonic picture profiles do you like?
Hi, I used natural color profile
chromatic aberrations are problem with this lens, I realy wonder how is Leica 50mm Summilux M lenses
Compared to Sigma 30mm F1.4 which one would you choose and why (if the price was the same).

Nice video Paul! Can I ask if I need to buy speedbooster to use this lens on my Bmpcc 4k?
Hi there! It fits directly on bmpcc4k
Would love to pay these settings to the Panasonic S5
Paul how have you been hope you and your loved ones are well

@@PaulUSCEE That is wonderful
Beautiful review! New sub! What do you think about the 12 mm focal length and Leica lens?
12mm can be quite a versitile wide anlge for MFT. I think Penny Leica lenses are all quite good, even better if you can find a good used sample
Sir suggest me good video camera in low light lumix g100 with f1.7 lumix lens or sony zv1

@@PaulUSCEE thanks so much for your reply! 😊
Is this a focus by wire? If yes, do you use autofocus with the phase detect enabled to make sure you have your moving subjects in focus?
Yes it's fly by wire system. The camera has contrast based autofocus though
Hi Paul, can I ask you which profile you used for photo?
Thank you
Hi Cris, I shoot RAW for photos so it doesn't apply any profile to the photos
