Make sure to check out my friends, Outdoor Auto, Toyota World Runners, and Venture 2 Roam! These guys all have their own perspectives on this trip and caught a bunch of stuff that I couldn't
8:33 @venture2roam… Justin at Factor 55 is going to be upset you didn’t have the HitchLink 2.0 made for soft shackles ready to go! Gave Nate a perfect opportunity to pitch the competitor lol 😂
I'm very glad you could make it dude. Come back after the snow falls a little more, and I can show you the epic snow quality on the west side of the mountains 😁
Ive been using that same Factor55 hitch link for years with my soft shackles! No sign of wear or stress on the shackles. I do agree the yankum one has a more pronounced curve, but the F55 one is 100% suited for soft shackles and is still better than 90% of whats on the market!
That Disco is one of my all time favorite builds. I mean, the attention to detail is freaking madness, and one of my favorite parts is the wire loomn coming out of the fabbed rear quarter glass. Epic build Nate!
Saw you and the guys at a gas station in Ellensburg the other week, didn’t get a chance to say hi. Love the content keep up the great work! Prays for you and your families going into the new year.
I love snow wheeling l, but ngl …I’ll never get over how funny it is to hear what sounds like drag strip audio mixed with vehicles going 3 miles per hour 😂
I love the way this disco sounds! But the bean conversion rate is off a little bit. It requires a lot of beans to use and doesn't seem to create the same amount of beans worth of power 😆. I think some of the beans that are consumed are used to generate noise and not power. At least, that's my best guess 🤷
On a "good" snow year we've taken all day with rigs from Toyota's and Samis on 42's to 3klb buggies on 47's to get to the lineman shack. Cold, dry Eastern WA snow is nothing like the go anywhere, wet Western WA snow...
An excellent episode being viewed from South Africa, where we actually have some pretty darn good heavy snow trails too. Great to see you push it to the limit on the route - nobody learns anything from the easier trails, even though they are a lot of fun to play in after trying the other route. Basically a perfect trip with both experiences. You're definitely showing off how good the Discovery is in snow Nate.
Sorry but I had to give up on this one. It's the music you see. Mostly I rarely hear music in videos (other than actual music-video) that enhances what I'm watching. The other thing is I have a difficult time separating music from the spoken narration, it's a hearing thing apparently.
Marvin/Flex, Rocks, and Roll Overs and Nate/Dirt Lifestyle together…best of the best together. I’m excited to spend Christmas in Moab again this year, right when Marvin is releasing the latest 24 Hour Hell and Back.
Amazing video and a snow wheeling trip! My fav, love to see local 🇨🇦Toyota World Runners on another fav channel! Need more of these! Can you snow wheeling near Mt Baker at all?
It was fun seeing you bring out TWR, I've seen you in BC before while camping (gave you a wave, didn't want to bug you) I've also seen TWR on the island 😂
Such a cool trip. Def not for folks not used to those conditions. @DirtLifestyle How well do Eaton TruTrac style diff's work in the deep snow like that? Would it be prone to the sliding out on off camber sections like a locker? I have one in the rear of my truck.
Dude I'm dying to know what radio you have that handheld radio with a big long antennae can you please give description on all the specs of it so I can purchase one thank you
How much does your discovery weigh? I'm sure you've mentioned it in past videos but I can't remember. Maybe you mention it in this video I'm only a few minutes in. I'm just trying to get an idea how my new build may do in deep snow I love deep snow. I'm a little on the heavier side I think from my original plans I haven't weighed it yet but I think I'm like between 5.5-6.5k pounds. I was shooting for 5k or so including gear but that became impossible once I realized how much my crate axles from ECGS actually weighed plus everything else. Plus Hutchinson rock monster wheels are heavy my tires aren't the lightest available and I have a lot of armor and cage and beef and accessories. Anyways I love snow so much. This is in my neck of the woods. Edit: later on in the video you said 7k plus pounds that's impressive. Makes me feel a little better. I have lots of gearing choices with my atlas 4 speed and I have front and rear lockers. I can't wait to play in the snow. I was happy I chose a lower axle gear ratio than I originally planned because of the extra weight it worked out good.
The weight adds up quickly! This disco is a little over 7k with me in it. It's a HOG! But the aired down 39s give it just enough floatation in the deep stuff. And I have a theory that the fact that this has more weight on the rear tires than the front makes it easier to glide over snow 🤷♂️. This thing works really well for some reason, and that's the only big difference between this and other 7k lb. trucks that don't perform as well.
I think my Cherokee xj is actually quite similar to your Discovery. I think I have more or equal weight over the rear axle. It's so far from a regular Cherokee it's heavy lots of frame stiffening more than a standard kit I stripped it to a bare body and removed all the factory seam sealer and stitch welded the chassis like a race car then stiffened/plated lots of stuff taking from experience of many years running/building Cherokees then I went back with 3m 2 part seam seal and dynamat and closed cell foam and a thicker carpet kit it's so crazy to drive it's way different plus huge brakes and hydro boost it's sort of hilarious a Cherokee can drive and stop so well on 37s I worked hard to set up good geometry. It's more of an overland/recovery vehicle type build maybe rock lander, I built it to fit 40s but I'm on 37s I like 37s but I can go up later if needed. I have a stupid heavy rockhard brand tire carrier I'm a little pissed off that it's so heavy especially with mods but I really like it plus gear and everything I'm fairly certain the rear is just as heavy or heavier than the front. I also have a rear winch. What are you getting for mileage like on the highway and in general do you know? I know it varies widely depending on conditions but I'm just curious what is normal or acceptable for most people. I've never paid attention to mileage too much until recently. I got a car scale you put one under each wheel so you can get from and rear and corner weights. I haven't used it yet but I thought that would help for suspension tuning. I'm still running rear leafs but with fox 2.5 reservoir shocks with the adjusters. So far I like the leafs they would be too stiff of a standard xj but they are working good for me. Then I get a free tune on my shocks so after I get things everything how I think it will stay and weight figured out I'll send them back to be tuned but they do pretty good now.
Not comfortable enough for a trip this long, lol. 3.5 hours of hwy each way plus living in it for the 3 days of snow wheeling. The little rover is super capable, but this disco is probably the most comfortable snow rig I own.
Make sure to check out my friends, Outdoor Auto, Toyota World Runners, and Venture 2 Roam! These guys all have their own perspectives on this trip and caught a bunch of stuff that I couldn't
Has anyone ever tried paddle tires in this snow🤔?
8:33 @venture2roam… Justin at Factor 55 is going to be upset you didn’t have the HitchLink 2.0 made for soft shackles ready to go! Gave Nate a perfect opportunity to pitch the competitor lol 😂
Thanks for showing us the best snow we've seen! Stoked for the next one 🤘🏻
Happy you had so much fun
Nate - Thanks for always pushing me... Had a ton of fun on this trip.
I'm very glad you could make it dude. Come back after the snow falls a little more, and I can show you the epic snow quality on the west side of the mountains 😁
Man that looked epic! What a trip. Bummed I couldn’t join but thanks for the invite!
Couple of my guys heard you on the radio across the valley. We were SW of you up in the hills. Damn decent snow for this time of the year!!
Ive been using that same Factor55 hitch link for years with my soft shackles! No sign of wear or stress on the shackles. I do agree the yankum one has a more pronounced curve, but the F55 one is 100% suited for soft shackles and is still better than 90% of whats on the market!

That disco V8 sounds sooo good!
It sounds better than it is 😁. Not a ton of power, but it's makes the freedom eagle noises or British equivalent...
Saw you and the guys at a gas station in Ellensburg the other week, didn’t get a chance to say hi. Love the content keep up the great work! Prays for you and your families going into the new year.
Loved seeing the collab with Toyota World Runners. Two of my favorite channels in one video. So sick!
A 12v heated mattress pad under you made the biggest difference for me in my RTT. Doesn’t use much power either.
Practically raised on Clockum pass and it's no joke in the winter. Love that area and my hometown of Wenatchee
The Rover v8 sounds goooood
Agreed!
I'm glad we are getting so many trip videos. Thankyou
I love snow wheeling l, but ngl …I’ll never get over how funny it is to hear what sounds like drag strip audio mixed with vehicles going 3 miles per hour 😂
2:58 Send air support😅. You guys are braver than I am. Well done guys🙇♀️.
This looks like a total blast, and definitely no shame in calling it safe on that narrow spot. Can't wait to see more man.
That was a fun trip to watch...that LR sounds very nice when you give it the beans.
I love the way this disco sounds! But the bean conversion rate is off a little bit. It requires a lot of beans to use and doesn't seem to create the same amount of beans worth of power 😆. I think some of the beans that are consumed are used to generate noise and not power. At least, that's my best guess 🤷

It's definitely the cold. Idaho snow is like that too 👍
The Disco performs as usual. Beast of a rig.
Oh that looks like fun! I may need to get out again this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration
Get out there dude!
That was awesome and looked like a lot of fun too. Thanks for the video
Such a great crew. That Rover of yours is so impressive, I love it.
That disco was eatin, Motor was sounding so good. 🫡
The best video to watch while recovering from knee surgery. 😊😊
Picked up a '97 disco and am taking some inspiration from your build! It's crazy what you're getting out of the stock 4.6L with all that added weight!
ahhhh man i love your disco so much !!!!!! love those vids my dude !!!
Looked like a good time!! Great job and that rover does sound legit

Toyota world runners is one of my favourite channels as a Canadian myself. So seeing him on another one of my favourite channels is amazing
Yep! There are little trails here and there near baker. I just search around on ONX to find what I am looking for 👍
Snow, lockers, off chamber, yikes! I’m glad to hear that others know that this combo can have major issues. Looks fun!
25:20 the land cruiser looks awesome with that hood painted Toyota racing colors. Obviously, I miss all the stickers, but Toyota racing is the stuff
God Bless and Merry Christmas 🎄 😊
It’s 5:30 PM EST, Dec 13th, and it’s 78 degrees. This snow wheeling is so unfamiliar to me, and so intriguing!
Time for some 46's !! CHEERS AND SAFE TRAVELS Steve h.
Okay look. I live in Michigan. We have snow on the ground. You boys are crazy!
More Snow-Va-Caine . Looks like lots of fun.
Lol I love "Snow-va-caine"
Can't wait to see the new land rover go snow wheeling....
I have another trip planned for the little rover tomorrow 😁
I haven’t watched the video yet but I wanted to be the first to say ‘man your crazy’ 😁
Your in my back yard spent alot of time up there. Bummed I missed ya
by definition of the Juggernaut. once in motion
I recognized will immediately ha
I wonder if we can make this in a stock Ranger Raptor. 😂
sick !
I'm a simple man. I see Disco 2 I click like and comment.
Ibreally wish you would try our trails in eastern washington, central washington gets all the love but i think your missing out!
Where should I go? I'll hit up my Buddy Dave and hit the eastern wa powder 👊
It was fun seeing you bring out TWR, I've seen you in BC before while camping (gave you a wave, didn't want to bug you) I've also seen TWR on the island 😂
Matthew rocks! What a great dude and great channel 👏
@DirtLifestyle absolutely!
I love the episodes. Love to see them artic tires on that terrain. Question, what lockers do you prefer for different environments?😊
That’s easy stuff
Man I would love to join you guys on the next one
Washington, NH is the same way
Should have taken the little artic yeti you built
I wish! 3.5 hrs of hwy each way and 3 days of snow wheeling... the little rover is not comfortable enough for a trip like that.
Such a cool trip. Def not for folks not used to those conditions.
@DirtLifestyle How well do Eaton TruTrac style diff's work in the deep snow like that? Would it be prone to the sliding out on off camber sections like a locker? I have one in the rear of my truck.
You’re making me late to work with this Friday video Nate!
Jealous, we have no snow here in Ontario, Canada currently to go snow wheeling in.
High revving engines with slug like movement. What can possibly go wrong😅?
Lol, 4 high looks hilarious in this Discovery. Exactly what you described 😆
How do you install the Maxtrax on the back of the Disco? Thanks!
It would have been awesome to see the Yeti here bro. Any reason you didn't use that?
Cool that you know the TWR guys too.
Do you have anything with twin stick transfer case? I wonder how good front wheel drive would be when your rear keeps slipping downhill like that.
Common issue with the D2. Almost a maintenance item.
Dude I'm dying to know what radio you have that handheld radio with a big long antennae can you please give description on all the specs of it so I can purchase one thank you

what are you using for snow tires?
What kind of transmission temps?
Why does no one use chains? We do it alle the time here in Europe. Are chains not a thing in the US?
You run ko2?
Why not take the yeti
Oh yah 22:20 mins in that looks super sketch. I know these WA trails are bad then add weather elements to them lol
no views? first?
93 views 4 minutes later
Yep. Friday mornings aren't super busy on youtube 😁
8:44 that’s one expensive useless hitch
why didn't you bring the real land rover
And you didn’t take the rig you built just for snow. 🤦🏼♂️
Still love the content. I need to get my bronco out in some deep stuff like that and see how it does.
Not comfortable enough for a trip this long, lol. 3.5 hours of hwy each way plus living in it for the 3 days of snow wheeling. The little rover is super capable, but this disco is probably the most comfortable snow rig I own.
