I am a pilot and I find these cab rides fascinating! I am into aviation but my second love is the railway and as a pup spent many hours on Kings Norton station (B'ham) spotting. I still have my Ian Allen books!! Great stuff and thank you.
Many thanks for posting this journey from Bletchley to Euston. I have now watched both parts at least a dozen times and find it absolutely captivating. I doubt whether I shall ever tire of it!
Traveling by train here in Brazil, today is something very rare. You British built many lines. The main one was the Railway or SPR. Today there is only freight trains. A pity. So thank you very much for giving me the joy of travel, even for images, but you feel like sitting in a chair and just enjoy the scenery. My thanks same. Cheers to you, and who knows if one day I will have the pleasure of traveling on a Pendolino. A big hug. Alvaro. Sao Paulo - Brazil.
That's so strange sitting over the left running rail as oposed to the right rail in most cab rides. it reminds me of the time I drove 47714 Gillingham to Sherborne in 1992, watching this I had the same sense of almost fear of not screwing up.... great vids part 1 and 2.
Going to be on this line next week, love the sign comming out of Euston that says "Euston station one mile" wish theere were more signs like that around
Great Job! I love these long in-cab vids, I find them strangely relaxing and calming. That probably wouldn't make me a good candidate for a driver though!
The ramp is and AWS or automatic warning system it tells the driver the colour of the signal through noises that way the driver can tell whether it green or not. Hope this helps
Hello , i'm Roberto from Italy Siena , watching your videos , i wanted to know a few things : 1 line speed , 2 voltage range , 3 in the second video you can see on the right track other two are on the London Underground ? 4 and last question , how fast Virgin trains go ? thanks and hello again . Help with google translator .
Not sure exactly what the speed is here, but the voltage is 25 kv AC, they are London Underground trains on the tracks on the right south of Harrow & Wealdstone, I think, and Virgin trains go up to 200 km/h.
How about saving a few £billion: 1) Removing all Overground and other stopping services from the WCML south of Watford Jcn (use Bakerloo, run all OG via Hampstead Heath Loop) 2) Close Kilburn High Road and Hampstead Stations as a result (tube stations nearby) 3) Run selected WCML services into St Pancras (reinstate 4 track North London Line between Camden Rd Stn and St Pancras diversion, Extend St P eastwards over Camley Street. Thereby reducing congestion on Euston Approaches and removing need to expand the station and build crazily expensive approach tunnels for HS2.
I think this makes me a really really sad person but I have a track atlas and I like to follow the route of the train in it. Is that sad? Yeah it probably is.

MAGNIFICENT ! so well done with details of speeds, stops, switching, stations, junctions etc.. excellent, like a trip to England.
Brilliant! I very nearly even got up to exit as we rolled into Euston!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed that! thanks so much for posting!

Great video,enjoyed watching it
This is so enjoyable!
One more Q:) Who controls the switching of junctions, and when?
Sorry so many questions but i'm interested, and thanks for uploading in full.
Amaaaaaaaazing!!!!! Very nice video and if you're the driver very good driving! :)

Termination of the tempoary speed restriction, this applies across the entire UK rail network whenever TSRs are slapped on any track.
Cool video dude :)
Hey Matt, If the signal is red, the ramp that's under the signal for safety reasons makes the train come to a emergency stop
Very Nice!!!

Alvaro, maybe they'll need to put in more rail services for when the Olympics come to Rio?
Great video :)
I know they have to have the Pinging Noise in the Cab but can they turn the Volume down or is it set at that Volume.
londons a mess for old/new rails! nice vid :D

Or coupling two class 390 units together.
***** Making 22 car trains?
AndreiTupolev which would then cost 300-500 million in platform extensions
Sorry, I meant the 9 coach length trains to make 18 car long trains.
+glitch4465 Making 18 car trains
Like the 2 tone horns
Nice Ride!
Great vide
No, they cant, because that sound is important. They can silence things like the vigilance etc.
2 tone horns very good
I'm guessing it would indicate the end of the TSR
He seemed to stop the train too near the buffer at Euston station! Yikes! :/
look clean on the outside but quite often very dirty on the inside a lot of people don't know how to use bins.
Lol, didn't know railworks included bugs on the window.
I think this makes me a really really sad person but I have a track atlas and I like to follow the route of the train in it. Is that sad? Yeah it probably is.
I think desiros are better replacements than pendolinos.
Speed restriction terminated.
Trespasser at 00.46!!
