**** 2nd Update **** The new 3 Level 12V Sabot Heat has the same amount of energy as the 6 Level - both state 90 Watts. I was able to cook the pasta with the 3 Level in the same amount of time as the 6 Level!.
I have had some email discussions with the manufacturer. The reason they changed to 3 levels was based on customer feed back. FYI - Level 1 is 40 W (similar to Hot Logic), Level 2 is 60 watts, Level 3 is 90 Watts.
      -----------
** Update ** The Sabot Heat that one of our viewers ordered was delivered with 3 settings for the 12Volt instead of 6 as I described in the video. Even though I ordered this just a few weeks ago and received the 6 level, it is different at this moment. I have reordered both the 12 volt and 120 Volt to check what they are delivering at this moment! The Amazon description says that level 3 for the 12 volt will be at 90W. If true, being able to cook pasta should still work with the 12 Volt. I will provide an update within a couple of days of receiving the unit.... It currently shows a Saturday delivery - I am not sure how long it will really take with Prime Days ongoing. The 120V looks like it still says 6 Level... Just wanted to let all of you know in case 3 levels versus 6 levels would matter to you on the 12Volt version... -Katy

Just a thank you… I’ve gone mad trying to identify a simple, safe, & efficient electrical cooking/re-heating device for a mini vehicle camper (when not using outside woodstove) and this 12V version just may be it. And your videos (including that of the Instapot) helped very much. Your videos are so well done, so concise, very refreshing in this sea of junk videos.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! I really appreciate your kind comment! I try to make videos that would help me and ones that I was looking for.... Just the facts and none of the fluff!
The Sabot Heat comes in and out of stock especially holidays. Sometimes they have the 12V, sometimes the 120V and sometimes both.... I have both and both work great!
I appreciate you taking the time to comment!

@@KatysCampKitchen Hi Katy, thank you for the reply. Just an FYI towards the Sabot vs. the HotLogic (which seems the original and most popular of these mini carbon heatplates) that I’ve discovered… the Sabot has wattage & time controls but no temperature control while the HotLogic has fixed temperature control (165-180F) at fixed wattage and runs indefinitely. Each has pros/cons but I think the Sabot is better, though I wish it had adjustable temperature control as well… oops, I just watched your HotLogic video and you detailed it very well. I think there are good applications for both.

Katy, Great video. I'll have to take a look at that bag cooker. I wonder what I can cook in it. I can't eat pasta; I miss a lot. I can't eat rice, but I sure miss stir-fried rice. Well; I just zipped over to Amazon and bought a 12-volt version. I think maybe I can cook my beloved smothered burritos in it. I'll have to find a Corningware that has a lid.

      Hi Kevin,
You can definately cook meat - chicken, beef, etc. and heat up any prepared meals you have. The great thing about this oven is that you can cook / reheat slow or faster in it depending on the time you have before eating. I am planning to do a lot more testing on the oven and do a comparison between the Hot Logic and Sabot Heat. The Hot Logic video linked at the end had some items that I cooked in that video including chicken - this can cook anything in that video. I think it could really help for being able to have a meal while away from home so that you can control what is in it - and be able to eat on your schedule. The equivalent setting would be a 2 or 3 on the Sabot Heat.
I definately think you will be able to cook the burritos!
I ♥ Corning Ware! If you are ever in NY state, the Corning Museum of Glass is fantastic!!! There is a blog called Corning411 - great information if ever looking for Corning background, history, and recipes... So fun! Let me know how the burritos works out!
FYI, for the fried rice.... Whole Foods sells a great cauliflower fried rice in their frozen section. I just put it in a pan (while frozen) with a little oil and cook it just like the package says (maybe add a minute or two to dry it out a little more.. It is really good and satisfies the hunger for fried rice.
      Thanks for your great comment!

That looks like the model I should have purchased. The two that I have are ok for reheating, but terrible for cooking.

I was amazed at how hot they got - 186 Degrees F for a bread experiment that I did (it was a fail, but shows promise). I was shocked it cooked rice (needs 70 min) and the pasta @ 60 min. Even though we have a great well, I hate all the water that boiling pasta takes!

@@KatysCampKitchen I ordered the 12v model with the knowledge it was three settings with a max of 90watts. Can't really go higher with a cig lighter style, as the wiring in cars is too small for higher amps.

I'm cooking with it now Katy. I have a small pork roast I am hoping to make pulled pork. I tried my Pecron E1000 and it failed to function. It said it was overloaded on the DC side. So I got the trusty Bluetti EB3a and plugged it in and it runs it fine. I am outside and I hooked up my 120 watt BlueRise panel to it. I'm using about 43 watts and am taking in about 55-60 watts. I can't hardly read the controls. I think I am on level 2 for 188 minutes; don't know for sure. I'll let you know how it does. I opened it briefly and it's cooking. On a side note, I sent off a dispatch to Pecron support; we will see if they know.

I called it at 7 PM and put it on the BBQ to finish. My 12 volt model only has 3 settings. I think the meat was cut up it may have worked. I kinda think it’s a good reheater and not so much a cooker. Maybe good for cooking egg dishes or maybe a pan omelette.
