In many ways is refreshing to hear a guy that doesn't sound like an excited 3 year old on every car review

2:59 that Montenegrin road is epic. Pleasure to see lot of shiny Jags tested these days in this small country.
Jag has been near genius in their strategic efforts and have delivered a compelling value proposition.How many people are buying these for racing at the track or point and go acceleration? A third of the orders are already female,exactly as Jag hoped.The segment cares more about creature comforts and sportiness than Nurburgring lap times. The Jag is the best handling vehicle for the type of conditions in the UK and is big,spacious and comfortable for their main US market.The Porsche will handle best around the track.Huge difference. In fact Jags biggest problem is the huge waiting list given the record no.of pre F Pace orders.They are already beyond full capacity and have had to purchase a new plant.
i have the F pace and believe me, it is an INCREDIBLE car.

Choosing this or a Macan is a matter of personal taste really. For me, the more aggressive Macan suits me better

I'd have the F-Pace, as a closet Brit. That said, I'd probably buy neither and have a normal car instead.
+MTC0316 Macan has an Audi Q5 look about it. It's because they share the same platform. This is bigger and far prettier. The front of the Macan is off, the lights dont suit this car but belong on a 911. The Macan is sorta ugly, saved by the badge in my opinion

911 headlights have to be round, that's one of the reason why the 996 was hated by purists

I love almost everything about this cars besides the exhaust pipes and rear bumper. It just dont fit the car that well, and i think it looks like half assed work, like the designers just ran out of time and desided it was fine. Both the AUdi and the Porsche have WAY slicker design on the endpipes.
I saw a car carrier full of these today. Now starts the arduous process of trying to convince my wife to trade in her car for it.

The color and the smaller wheels look amazing. I'd spec it with white leather interior and the V6 Diesel.
I've just clicked the video and I already know the answer: Yes... because it's British... nothing else to be expected from a British Magazine.
As much as I love bhp, I can't see much point in having a high revving petrol engine in an SUV. I think the V6 diesel with its meaty torque would suit it better.

Even though the quality may not be up there with the German rivals, (I refer to Macan) it is good looking car and it's even better to see it on the roads adding a bit of diversity together with Lexus which stands out of this blind Germanish crowded world.. Well done Jaguar!

macan S 3.0L turbo engine, 340bhp, 0-60 5.2 seconds, F-pace 3.0L turbo engine, 370bhp, 0-60 5.1 seconds. sounds about right.

+Viking Power Agree totally. The Macan gets far too much kudos simply because of it's badge. It's proportions are off, the front lights don't suit such a big car, the grill is weird. It looks like an Audi Q5.

I'm told that in cornering on the inside front wheel of the corner there is some extra bias kicks in to pull it into and around the corner.... Someone more in the know might enlighten further.
It doesn't make much sense why the 3-series and E-class sell way much more then the XE or XF, hopefully the F-Pace won't get outsold +10 to 1 by the Q5.
On the other hand, the F-Type sells fine compared to the 911 or Boxter/Cayman. Land Rover also sells well in the SUV segment.

I love my v8 range rover but the super charged 3ltr jag would win me over, love a supercharger.
Only thing holding it back is the monumental depreciation Jags suffer over the Audi/Porsche equivalents

Not as sporty as a Turbo Macan. Interior not quite as well screwed together, too many plastics, but the Jag does look a little bigger overall. Macan is tight for space especially in the back, not that you will care when you are driving it!
agreed, if the f pace was quality all over the interior it would be #1 on my list. Having cheap plastics on the bottom of the doors is off putting
The Porsche has cheap plastics at the bottom of the door as well, the only difference is that they come in the same colour with the interior. Most cars in this segment have plastic in them, i have even seen plastic in the new Benz GLS and we all know what that car costs compared to this. If you want some other material instead of plastic i'm sure Jaguar would be willing to equip the car with whatever materials you want at an additional cost.
Just feel that the overall quality of the production Macan beats the production F Pace for now. But I would admit these things tend to be subjective!
My brother apart from the plastic mentioned by the lower door there's really no flaw with the F pace. The infotainment system on the Jag is far better than anything on the macan. I have seen both systems extensively and the Jag prevails effortlessly, the jag even has dual screen capabilities where the driver is seeing something else from the front passenger. The touchscreen system on the Jag is just on another level and that for me is key if I'm to chose BTW the two.
The cheapest Jag F Pace in Norway costs like 96k usd. :(

I opened the video to see a F-Pace and saw a road and the view of the same road, with pieces of a car in the video....
On paper it sounds like a lot of car for the money. Fast, handles well, better utlity than the Porsche, good looking, comfortable, and priced under $50K.

All JLR cars, right up to the most expensive have hard plastic around the door bins and around the ankles, where stuff is likely to get scuffed...

Looks great, sounds good, but what were they thinking when they named it? F Pace, really. It almost makes the K900 name, sound acceptable.

In the time when we need to sacrifice some aspects of real perfomance cars in the name of limiting polution and decreasing fuel consumption , these obscure "sporty" SUVs seem to be on top of their popularity. Who the * buys a SUV like that when you can have much better, faster and agile car for that money?
+SRAMEK Exactly the way I think... Why have a "sporty" SUV compromised in the first place in terms of driving dynamics due to the high center of gravity when you can buy a saloon with much better driving dynamics? The world makes no sense nowadays...

Tell that to the people on the long waiting list, with an extra 60k laying around waiting for one, that's who. these sport SUV's may make no sense to you guys but with all the bad roads out there it take a harder toll on cars, but SUV's seem to be holding up better than sports cars especially with these huge pot hole in these roads after a rainy or snowy week. (hint hint) maybe that's why SUV's sell more than cars today. never thought of that.
nicandlucian I don't think that people won't actually buy them, but I just don't see the reason to do so. I've driven the Evoque with dynamic pack for example and the comfort was merely the same as for example the m550d, which is 4wd as well and it will crush even the F-Pace. Plus there are much faster and better cars than the m550d.
SUV makes sense to me. RR, Land Cruisers and many others cope with bad roads well and you can take them in some serious terrain, but sporty SUV loses much of its capabilities and is not very sporty after all. Yes, it can hit 60 mph very quickly, but in corrners it can't keep up with real sportscars, it devours fuel but it doesn't deliver the thrill.
Whiles that maybe true to you and many others by I drive 100+ miles to work every day and I've seen just about every SUV and sports SUV on my way to work with idiots driving them like sports cars ready to run people off the streets to get by and I can tell you it doesn't matter what price or make it is or how it handle in performance they drive them all like sports cars especially as most of these SUV's are over powered, I live in the US, (NYC) and I can tell 90% or should I say 97% of these trucks will never see off road in the US, most go to work or the malls, its more of a status thing not purpose anymore here. I buy Vehicles for purpose not status, I own A Audi Q5 I bought it for its handling in the winter and its easy for my wife to drive.So I have yet to find someone here that bought one of these SUV's for its true purpose and believe me most of my friends and neighbors own them and I have asked

Less of a review, more of a narration of the press pack handed out - seems like a wasted opportunity for a first drive of a much anticipated model. If you're going to fly out there and get the drone up, then we're expecting a bit more opinion albeit a first impression. Looks good in the flesh though.

I'm from Montenegro,and I was driving this road with my friends in Renault 4,old for about 30+ years.The point is that we drove this road faster than this guy...Way faster..If you are thinking about the real driver car,you have to be "a real driver"..

This reviewer is missinformed about the AWD system,it can in fact vector upto 90% of torque to the front wheels not 50% as he said so is not inferior, as he intimated, to its German opposition.

+Steve Allen what for? Its an SUV for gods sake, not sports car! I really don't understand the market for these... Either you want a comfortable, big, safe car (tank), or something agile and actually something that a driver will enjoy. And sporty SUVs are great for guys who cannot drive but have enough money to show it off.

Really the other guy is so much more bias in his preference of cars, although rather plain he is very neutral. I guess controversy is what everyone likes because then you guys have something to complain about. Can't win hey. Poor Autocar changed the commentator because you guys kept saying he was so bias and now they bring the complete opposite and you complain again!
Best looking SUV out there I think. But I still really don't like the plain-Jane Toyota like dash design of all their latest models (with the exception of the F-Type and XJ) Why did they go with such a characterless non-Jag like design?

The front of the car looks handsome but the rear is terrible, like Range Rover evoque. The exhaust pipes are too small and do not look aggressive enough. The taillights look cheap in design
