As the sole dealer for Lifestyle in the US, this was an excellent video for me to add to my resources for reference. Thank you, friend, and good luck on your next adventure plans.
That's a very fair reason for selling. Lot of funds tied up in a specific use asset. I was worried something major had gone wrong with it! Only 4 months until ours arrives, so we wait patiently. Whoever bought it got a well sorted setup I reckon.
For sure, it is certainly a lot of money! Don't worry, nothing went wrong, still incredibly impressed with how well this thing performed over our travels! Not too long now! 🤞
Well I did expect it. I even mentioned it in a previous post. A similar van was for sale on Market Place. Makes sense. My style of touring is to have a well kited out car with a tent for remote trips and pay for a motel or cabin closer to town. Keeps the capital cost down and plenty of flexibility…..I do like the UEV490 however!
As they say, "knock me down with a feather". I'm a dumb bugger and didn't see that coming. I figured that beast of a van was so well set up that you would have sold Teagan and the kids before parting with it 😂😂 Knowing you, I'm sure there's more surprises around the corner mate. Best wishes to you all for your future adventures 🎉
🤣 haha. Yeah, it wasn't really the plan when we first bought this but the justification to keep this with its price tag was a little too much. Although I'm sure Teagan and the kids would have brought in more funds 🤣 I know I'm on a good thing there 😉 Here's hoping some of the adventures we get up to this year can keep the channel going 👍
Thanks for all your effort with your videos on the R4. Has been super helpful to us as we decide on our camping purchase. You've possibly mentioned this, so my apologies if I've missed it but curious your thoughts on tandem vs single axle on these units? Many thanks, Steph & Chris
Thanks so much for all of your content. We are awaiting our Lifestyle Reconn R2SE and will be heading off for full time travel middle of next year. I hope we can do half the job you did to showcase the camper as there just isn’t much out there on them. Can’t wait for your next adventure.
Thanks mate, I'm glad the content could keep you guys entertained until yours arrived... I know that feeling of waiting... and waiting... but it's worth it in the end! If you guys are planning on heading to the west at some point, keep in contact, would be great to meet 👍
@@XploringOz yeah I am getting very impatient and Leisa said just today I am the most impatient man on earth 😂 We will definitely be heading to the west as I have not been since I was a kid and Leisa has never been. Will definitely reach out for some locals advice and would be great to catch up. Maybe at some secret locals camp spot 😂
@@filthyoffroadadventures Haha, well you are forgiven with the huge wait time from Lifestyle, but I can confirm its worth it 👍 For sure, keep in touch.
Have a good look at a new off road caravan “off-road grit” arguably the best off road van on the market. We have ordered our new van which will be available in October..
Thanks for the update. Look forward to a different style of adventure from you and your family. Think you may settle in the middle of swag and van and get a camper trailer down the track?
You're welcome, looking forward to some different adventures without a 3.2t camper as well. Maybe down the track, it always good to see what's available and try different options 👍
I’m a bit behind with all my TH-cam etc. But geez you guys went through alot of dust. I’ll search through the vids but what airbox did you have on the lap.
We used anything and everything we could find. From social media pages (including Lifestyle forums and Lemon Caravan forums), other customer experiences, caravan shows, private forums, independent reviewers, sponsored reviewers, web forums etc. After researching everything you end up finding that middle ground and taking it all into context to find an overall 'feel' and user experience with the trailer 👍 The door was never really an issue. I know the R2 door is definitely shorter, but I'm 6" and didn't find it a problem 👍
Selling makes a lot of sense, must've been tough to see it go. What now? Another more basic/cheaper hybrid or pop-top, or do you think you'll move to a full height van and forgo the off-road options in favour of comfort?
It does make sense, doesn't mean that we miss it but everything has a place and time. At the moment I'm going to enjoy not towing for a while. Got some good trips planned this and next year that we won't be needing trailers for, but saying that you never know what might happen 👍
We had a fair idea of what we were doing. Even if we were 100% certain on sale at the end, we didn't have to invest very much into the trailer aftermarket and it held value very, very well given the current lead times. It worked out perfectly 👍

Love the no nonsense approach to things mate. Happy camping

Glad.you got so much enjoyment out of the reckon, I know I did watching the vids.
Thanks for sharing your travels.
Cheers

Sounds like the best thing about the Reconn sale was....getting rid of the Safiery gear ;). Thank you for sharing. Cheers
Straight forward and honest
criminally under rated channel mate, keep up the great work
Thanks mate, I appreciate that 🙏
Good choice of words mate! 😅

How is the motor going after having been dusted. Any plans for a new donk
Your simply great review of the Gentrax 800 unit was through and informative.
BUT HOW DID It Go On THE TRIP?
Thanks for the update. Look forward to a different style of adventure from you and your family.

Great endorsement and well spoken
Geez that must have been a hard decision to make!
Looking forward your next set up and vids!
Yeah, it wasn't easy but there's always the right time and place for everything and this worked out in the long run for us 👍
Cheers mate
Thought you sell on return…… very exspensive ornament otherwise if not using, though if you have the money… it’s not !!
It would be interesting to see what resources you used to choose your caravan. How was the low entry door, did it cause headaches?

It was a ripper setup mate. Gave me lots of ideas
Thanks mate, appreciate that. It was an awesome camper for sure! Wouldn't change much about it if I did it over again 👍
@@XploringOz I’m getting a hybrid in a few weeks and this got me bloody excited. I’ll be interested to see what you reckon
@@firetofork Awesome mate, I'll be keeping my eye open for that episode! Will make life and camp on the road so much easier with the family for sure!
How many places did you go that you honestly couldn’t have got a say 20 foot full size van into? Not being smart, genuinely interested.
Nice footage as always! Good to see that it fulfilled its purpose for you guys and there are new owners enjoying it now. Cheers mate! 🤙🏼
I thought you might sell it after your trip. I figured that would have been cheaper than hiring for a year
For sure, much cheaper. The trailer even after everything we put it through retained a lot of value 👍
Farout that adventure went quick.
Tell me about it, can't believe we are back in a regular working routine already 😢
Solt thd Recon to plan the next trip?
We do have some more trips planned this and next year... all in good time 👍
Thanks for sharing...,
No problems 👍
Fkn trurh spoken. So much respect.
What happened to the witi video?
Yeah, WiTi happened... Not everyone appreciated that episode 🤔
Looks like you guys just bought it for the trip and werent thinking longtime😅

Sponsored
🤣 ... care to explain further? If I was sponsored I wouldn't need to sell it right!? 🤦♂️
@@XploringOz yes,but I can see you pushing sponsors very soon.
I gotta get one of those shirts mate!!!!!
For sure, we'll get something sorted 👍
