Had the pleasure of seeing Samantha play last night along with Tab Benoit and Tommy Castro. What a great talent she is! Good singer and she more than held her own when playing guitar along side of the two more well known blues artists.
Wow! Just diescovered her by accident (I was looking for the Yardbirds version of Drinking muddy water). She's amazing. As for any negative comments...they laughed at the Beatles and Eva Cassidy too. Didn't stop them from being the best the world has seen
I liked her earlier stuff like this. Just a trio, no horns, nothing but guitar bass and drums. It’s a tough gig, I did it for years, but it’s the best scenario for a guitar player like her.

Was looking for the backups! Reminded me of seeing Bonnie Raitt and Jimmy Buffet at Pope Joy Hall in ABQ with Jimmy singing backup on a tune. it was a blast! Not just the song but the whole show. Do love Samantha man! she has acquired her own thing and it is becoming quite recognizable. Wish she kept Chris. He and Go-Go seemed to mesh well and he harmonized with Samantha's voice purty darned well! Time moves on.
I enjoy her playing, she has the knack.....but Jesus, her singing is fabulous.! She could make a living fronting a band with just her vocal skills. Couple that with what seems to be a decent personality..... and she has the whole package. She seems like a nice young gal. Good Luck To Her :-)
Can't help but notice she's barefoot, she's usually wearing high heels. Can't blame her, I don't see how women get around in them things. I sure can't imagine how girls like Samantha and Ana Popovic get up there and just burn on that guitar when they're propped up on them stilts. Love Samantha! My ears love that down and dirty blues guitar playing and my eyes.....oh, them legs.
