Prior to this song, I was impressed with her show so far ... but when she played this, one of my favorite songs, I knew i was watching someone special. I have seen her a dozen times since that first night, but never has she played this song again. Makes this recording even more of a treasure. Thanks for watching and your continued support.
I love her voice, it is transcendent. She has complete command of where she wants it to go and it takes her there flawlessly every single time. Susan Tadeschi blew me away when I saw her and Derek one summer, but Samantha's voice, punctuated by a guitar virtuosity that she reigns over like the goddess that she is, leaves me in a place where I can't find the words to describe what she has done to my soul. I just know that when I come back down to Earth, I feel more than alive. I then can't wait to hear her voice again and have my spirit lifted even higher. This is, for me, exactly what music is supposed to do and Samantha does it for me like no one else, with every breath of life that she gives to every word she sings and every note she plays. I've been listening to music for 56 years and I now know that there won't ever be a voice I'll want to hear more than that of Samantha Fish.

what I dig is the pure raw passion and emotion...the little flub she laughs at at around 7:30ish...yet she is still flawless to me cuz it's all about the feel and just "goin with it"...love it all!!!
I think there were 2 flubs actually, she hit a floor button a tad too soon between her solo and going back to singing. You can hear the guitar mute a bit. I think she could have delayed that tap on the pedal a few seconds and THEN sing again.
I love Samantha's "guitar face".That's what we call the open-mouthed, tongue-stuck-out-of-the-corner look a guitarist gets when the riff is really good and they're way into it and she's got it bad. My mom listened to her a lot, shes gone now. I didnt really listen to samantha fish really so i looked through her songs an am pretty surprised she does this song because its one of my favorite tunes. An shes playing in Michigan where im from.
May I say this is one of the best recordings from her that I have heard on TH-cam? I really love her voice but many times it is not clear in other recordings, which is a shame. The combination her singing and guitar playing is incredible and unique.

I’ve got a TH-cam playlist for S. Fish with over 50 songs. This is my favorite song. I get a kick out of her catching and laughing off her slight flub between 7:35-7:45 mark. As great as she is she’s only human. The combination of her singing and playing though is 🤯😎🫨

Excellent clean, crisp, well-balanced job on the board by Peter Jay, and Bluzdedemi go that audio right through the camera in such sweet shape. This has become one of my all-time favorites of Samantha Fish, along with "Mr. Siegal" from same show.
... I'm glad you enjoyed the videos that i shot from that show. Keep in mind the audio runs from my video camera, though the room sounds excellent because of soundman Peter Jay.

@@bluzdudemi I was (pleasantly) surprised to learn that this audio is directly off cam...I would have suspected/expected it to have been taken from the board. As an "old hand" with considerable ball-room experience (Avalon, + Family Dog Productions, S.F., Ca. '70's--early 80's) we always attempted to pirate audio from Bob and Betty Matthews' (Alembic Sound) mixing board. The new digital electronics are superior, of course, but still require a skilled hand on the throttle! (and good vid gear!) Peter Jay has a good "hand" and even tho the "room" has good acoustics, his clear, crisp "grabs" appeal to my "ear." I'd much rather have a "clean" sound where vocals can be understood and the lead instrument(s) can sing out than a "muddied" bass-heavy "thump" which not only "clips" but distorts most of the important higher-ranges of the spectrum. Hats off and kudos to Peter Jay on a difficult job executed well. But I was sure disappointed to learn that Callahan's is shuttering! Maybe someone else will pick up the mantle--it's for sure a good sounding venue!
A Snicker's Bar because she loves that candy bar. Samantha said that when her FaceBook likes hit 10,000 she bought herself a Snicker's Bar. For some reason a guy in the audience had a snickers bar, not sure how that worked out, but he left it on stage before the song.
I got tired of all those blues guitar heroes running up and down the frets just to say nothing but this woman brought back the thrill.
