I understand that it was probably annoying to code all the shadow clones appearing and disappearing around the opponent, so I can understand why they changed it, but it's such a shame. In Storm 2, there was a genuine feeling of difference between Sage Mode Naruto and normal Naruto. Normal Naruto used shadow clones for a frontal assault, kind of just giving himself more hands to punch with. Sage Mode Naruto was clearly using the clones more strategically, making them surround the enemy and bouncing them back and forth. Storm 3 just made Sage Mode feel like normal Naruto again - his movements are a bit more stylish, but ultimately, he's just using the shadow clones for a direct frontal attack. It's barely any different from what all other variants of normal Naruto do. That being said, the animations and camera angles for the ninjutsu and grab are clearly quite weak in Storm 2. Naruto has a very restrained expression, not showing the kind of energetic anger you would expect from someone fighting, and the camera feels awkward, like it's not focusing on Naruto but the space around him... It's really weird to look at.
Personally, I think they changed it because S2 Sage Naruto has no guard pressure (his combo can't continue if the first attack is blocked, since the following hits require the opponent to be moved around by the hitstun). I think a good compromise would've been to make his first 3 attacks the S3 version (stays in front of the enemy and can continue when blocked), but the following attacks move the enemy around like his S2 / Generations combos. This way, he can have his unique shadow clones combos and some guard pressure.
@@Ashcoop Yeah, I realized that too, eventually. SM Naruto is really at a disadvantage in that regard, as the only hit which comes out is the first clone punching, then it just.. stops. That's probably the reason for the change, yeah.
I personally prefered how he used the clones in Storm 2. But for the flow of the combos, Storm 3 takes the cake. Really, they both have something better than the other.
some characters like Naruto or Sasuke and others their movest was much better and cooler and they did more hits and combo in the older storms games and until storm 3 revolution and 4 but it all depends on the characters because some of their movests were reduced and changed for the better and the worst and it's like they got nerfed or buffed
