    Sir Oswald Mosely left the Conservative Party (the Tories) to start and become leader of the British Union of Fascists. He was a supporter of Hitler's Nazi Party and his supporters often marched through the Jewish part of the Easy End of London where they stirred up trouble. The Metropolitan Police often attended those marches to try to keep order. When Britain FINALLY declared war on Hitler's Germany there was a contingent of British Conservatives led by Lord Halifax who opposed that decision. If Mosely had been Prime Minister, he would have led Britain to side with Hitler. The world is glad that such was not the case. I personally lost members of my family in that war and in WWI too. Hitler's war against the Jews and against European nations for Lebensraum was not successful. Churchill was the right man for the job in WWII but the time for European empires in Africa and Asia and other places was coming to an end and never should have taken place. That is one man's view (mine) of those events. Fascism and Naziism and any extreme right wing movement is dangerous to the lives and health of ordinary people. I see little difference between Mosely and Netanyahu of Israel.

    • @nils191
      @nils191 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      He left the conservative party to join labour; where his plan, the mosley memorandum, which was an plan to have the government build up a portofolio by nationalizing industries throughout britain[1] was rejected. Leading to him leaving alongside other prominent socialists, and creating his own party; "New party."
      "After military service during the First World War, Mosley was one of the youngest Members of Parliament, representing Harrow from 1918 to 1924, first as a Conservative, then an independent, before joining the Labour Party. At the 1924 General Election he stood in Birmingham Ladywood against future Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, coming within 100 votes of beating him.
      "
      1. " According to David Marquand: "It made three main assertions - that the machinery of government should be drastically overhauled, that unemployment could be radically reduced by a public-works programme on the lines advocated by Keynes and the Liberal Party, and that long-term economic reconstruction required a mobilisation of national resources on a larger scale than has yet been contemplated. The existing administrative structure, Mosley argued, was hopelessly inadequate. What was needed was a new department, under the direct control of the prime minister, consisting of an executive committee of ministers and a secretariat of civil servants, assisted by a permanent staff of economists and an advisory council of outside experts." (66)" spartacus-educational.com/PRmosley.htm

      @@MichaelJ44 Yeah. Which the Third Reich preferred prior to Battle of Britain. Both Germany and Britain used to live on imports and run their respective economies by importing reources. Except, Britain had their advantage of having an Empire and overseas colonies plus their Royal Navy who protected those trade routes, while Germany lacked those stuff after WW1 armistice. "Hitler wanted to rule the world" is cliche. Germany's interests were in the East, in both the WWs. WW1: Central Asia and ME which is why they allied with the Ottomans. WW2: Soviet Heartland. Why would Germany try to invade Britain and lose millions of their soldiers for nothing? Operation Sealion was nothing more than an opinion that was never put into testing. Britain was never on the list of Germany's interests.

      Churchill, who claimed to love the British Empire, was the chief architect of its downfall. Churchill was by his own terms and ambitions an abject failure. Mosley wished to avoid war as he detested war and had seen friends cut down in WW1. He wasn’t violently anti-Semitic in any fashion. He simply pointed out the undue influence and negative influence at that of certain Jewish businessmen and so on.
