Some remaps will increase the rev limit slightly, but there isn't really anything to be gained. Power falls off pretty rapidly, as the standard cams and inlet manifold are really designed to strong midrange torque, not top end. 4th gear is good for 125mph @ 6500rpm. 5th is 157mph at 6500rpm (calculated; never hit that speed).

Truly agree I had a 307 bhp silver gsi sunroof model and wished I'd never sold it 2 years ago it had the full works from walbro fuel pump to fully forged and c20let fast road clutch plus all the other mods, it's sadly missed.
I bought a mint GSi in standard form then took it to 240bhp and even that was enough to entertain the newest hot hatches of the time! This must feel pretty powerful in comparison, the surge as it gradually increases having such a linear map will feel mint.
Sick bro! This one and all of your vids are all on point the enthusiasm is sick along with the individual owners all have there own personality and reflects in there cars they love!
I get the idea of a linear map, progression etc so as it’s easier to live with etc but I’d rather it pull like a train in a massive surge with lag and be an absolute handful, I’d enjoy driving it more like that

@@HoweDoYouDo1999 The big torque surge you get in the midrange with a Z20LEx is a lot of fun, but being realistic they're not a wonderfully handling chassis (and I say that as an owner of a GSI).
