Yeah, that is something I was afraid of. Gaijin's lack of plans for the implementation of Naval ships right now (coupled with a very cramped BR range) means that they will look at the tech tree and go "ah nice, this nation got a complete lineup in this BR range already and the next BR range is for something stronger, it should be okay if we make this a Premium" instead of decompressing and making gaps in the tech tree that vehicles could fill in over time.
I first got this issue with the IJN Myoko which is more or less a better Furutaka/Aoba being a premium instead of a 6.0 or replacement for the IJN Ikoma pre-dreadnought at 5.7. Probably even worse here since US doesn't even have a complete 7.0 line up.

Honestly I love Naval, it's a nice relaxing change from my usual top tier air Sim chaos of MFD screens, BVR dodging, RWR yelling at me and trying to stop my pilot going for nap time while putting wayyy too many G's through whatever airframe I pick 😂

@@treanttrooper6349yeah but fighting the unkillable scharnhorst gets old. You typically need 2-3 teammates to just repeatedly break its guns over and over and just setting it on fire till it dies.
Because ammoracking it is near impossible
it’s better than all the spawn trapping that happens in the ground modes and air arcade that all only have 1-2 spawn locations in total for each team, that’s for sure!
Naval EC can be enjoyable, "if":
- Its not Denmark map
- u have Battleship or battlecruiser in your line up
- teammates isnt quitting early.
The sheer amount of tracers at 3:40 is just 😗👌
I got the Mississippi because It looked cool, i dont play WT naval, when i ammoracked two people in first match and once unlocked APHE i felt in love with WT naval

The Moffett sank you with 5" SP because the way naval tallying works is the last weapon from the enemy that sinks you to damage you is credited with being the killing blow. What actually happened is his torpedoes detonated your magazine but before you fully went up he landed one last salvo of 5" shells

I think Gaijin should thank you Dollar... I started playing WT again after 1.5 year not playing it. Watching your videos are always great and I finally reached a point that I accept WT's issues a little more than before. Your approach on laughing at the issues rather than my way is making it easier to play.

Is this what a real naval battle would look like? If so… that is the most terrifying and intense part is waiting for the shots to hit or miss. I mean the anticipation alone would be enough for me.
No, the worst part is being on a battleship, thinking that you’re invincible, and then ammo storage explodes sinking you and battleship within few minutes
Absolutely nothing about any part of warthunder has anything to do with how a real battle would go. I don’t mean to sound condescending when I say that either just replying!
@@henrysmith4907demonstrably untrue, go look up about the Japanese battleship the that was night hunting and came upon by 2 American destroyers. It was called the “hei” I think and was in guadal canal. At times they were less than like 50m away from each others and getting so close to the ship is what took away the Japanese battleships big guns. It physically couldn’t aim on the Americans and they were able to batter it.
There is plenty of footage of planes flying into naval formations and the skies plastered with AA. If you pin all this up, you could certainly say war thunder at times does reflect realistic events that have happened.
Is war thunder realistic, no, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sometimes certain parts in war thunder battles play out just like reality could.
While a lot isn't realistic about it shells fired at longer ranges do take a while to land. That being said I think the large portions if crew that can't see the enemy ship, let alone any shells being fired have it much worse. They just have to keep doing their job and hope for the best.

Blame Gaijin, they've made it the hardest part of the game to get into. The maps and spawns are generally bad, you can die within 30 seconds of spawning either from the enemy or crashing into your teammates, and the BR's are so compressed that a full uptier means getting absolutely dumpstered by vastly superior ships even at reserve tier. It can be really fun, but "Gee, I wonder why hardly anyone plays naval?" is a question I often sarcastically ask myself anytime I play naval.
I've been playing naval all december, finally got Mississippi.. It packs a decent punch. 1st game in the mississippi I got annihilated by 3 other Mississippis..
My first match with AP was a foggy match and with my first 5 salvos I killed 3 enemy BB. I never had that much luck before in naval
My first match I ammo racked 3 Scharnhorst. Feels amazing to be the one dealing the damage!
It's a bad time to play with Mississippi. Give a few weeks for everyone to upgrade it fully

It hasn’t even been an hour and everyone is correcting me. I just left this here as a joke for people to read as I only have 500 hours put into it and uninstalled the game four months ago, so I don’t study which shells are better in different tanks anymore.

Curious how the best US BB is an event reward. I wonder if the naval update is coming anytime soon.
Gaijin likes to do this, more than a little annoyingly so. Perfect example is the Baltimore, which came as an event ship more than a year before we got a ship of the same class in the tech tree.
Yeah most likely next update they gonna release the USS New Mexico.

@@DOLLARplays they did that with Newport News and the prem heavy cruiser that they took out of the game. The prem was basically a better Newport News if I'm not mistaken but a prem is still a prem and costs money
I saw this as an event prize and i got very excited. Basically a better arizona with a late WW2 refit. Big battleship, and has decent SPAA. Im glad i got it, and im glad you are covering it.

Had a Naval EC match today with my Japanese ships and there were Mississippis everywhere. 4 on the enemy team and another 3 on ours...

The Mississippi was one of the easiest event vehicle to earn. 40k mission points. But naval has a 2.2 modifier. 18182 total with 2 days to get. 9091 per day. or about 4 missions per day. Just doing my daily/special tasks I got the Mississippi.

1:14 I'll never get over the Kronshtadt with it's Magikal Sekrit Dokument Shells that outperform the *Hood's* 15in AP shells. That are lighter than the Alaska's 12in shells, but with more pen and more TNT equivalent. From guns that, as far as I know, never even existed?
Those shells were made from an alloy of only the purest Stalinium and Copium, which explains their magical qualities.
I want to like that ship, but I just dislike those fantasy guns

Idk if this is just gaijin's overmatch mechanic but huge naval AP rounds overmatch even super thick composite that normally have protection levels exceeding the pen of that type of ammo. It almost seems like ships, tanks, and planes were meant to all play together at some point. Was in a custom and a 14 inch AP round blazed right thru my T-90M's UFP.
I really hope some day we can have official full combined arms matches, especially on maps with coastline.

Btw the negative number on damages is a bug because gaijin messed up the storage type for this stat

naval EC arcade is basically RB with bomb and torp reloads,
the ship speeds, steering and aiming system is RB, also you dont get the bomb drop crosshair

Next battleships for the US tree should be the Colorado class, probably one of the best looking ships along with the Hood. Clipper bow with 4x 16in 45cal Mk5 guns, was a beautiful interwar ship with a lot of firepower. I figure that since the US had so many upgrades and variants of the same class of ship or even single ship itself, the tech tree ship will be prewar and the premium/event will be late war, just because. Unlike most ships from other navies, save the Royal Navy, the US ships went from cage mast, to tripod mast to radar centered superstructures. Even the Mississippi lived long enough to be converted into a hybrid guided missile/gun battleship test platform.

WT naval is definitely much more realistic than WoWs. You should try it sometime, if you’ve been wanting something more realistic than WoWs.
