Doing the video in a 4:3 aspect ratio was an artistic choice to reflect the time when Claw was released. Hope you enjoy the video! 🤍

I remember seeing this game as a shareware in an old edition of Revista do CD-ROM here in Brazil. That magazine was one of the best things of the world in the pre-internet era.
This game was installed on the only computer in the library of my primary school. The few of us who would be at the school after the classes and on the holidays programs would play a lot of this and lego bionicle games. I do remember we took a long time to figure out a lot of areas in the levels. Nobody completed the game obviously :D This game made my childhood and I forgot about it! I'm the market for a remake/remaster of this :D Nice video and thank you for reminding me of this gem!
I also had one Bionicle game, they were really big for LEGO at the time! And yes, I also couldn’t complete Claw when I was a kid, I think I never got through the sixth level 😂 Thanks for the support!
I've played it and it's glorious . A timeless masterpiece lost in time . Every level has soo much detail and atmosphere . Thanks for making a video on it 😊
I had the original CD, not the DVD, but from my research for this video, I think the DVD version only had cutscenes with a higher resolution. The rest of the game was exactly the same, even the in-game resolution.
Another thing to mention is how perfectly smooth and gradual the level progression is in this game. Every level is just a bit harder than the one before it, and just a bit easier than the one that's to come after.
I'm nothing but grateful I was playing this as a child, I remember even getting that massive box that came with the game, a shame it's gotten thrown away in time, but damn this game is fantastic to this day! Glad it still gets videos about them!
@@ghazzmedia Nice! Same! I typically replay the game once every few months. It's a shame the second game never happened, it had some concept of two new bosses and such, but alas!
I'm surprised people are still talking about this lol those speed runs are impressive for such a difficult game. Nice taunts, scallywag/3:21 landlubber, and presentation.
god i remember this as a kid an this game was brutal in difficultly when it came to later stages. plus the games art reminds of those 90 cartoons in the mid 2000s, game is joy for those looking for something new from older games. story wise its at least creative an direction . id say its worth a playthru for those looking for a bit of challenge from the older games.
In Bulgaria we also played that game as kids. Good times I revised the game every 2 or 3 years. I play it since about 2004 this and terraria since 2011 love both the games !!!
Bless the 4:3 ratio, too many players these days play on Stretched ratio and it loses that edge. It's even better if you can manage to play on a 4:3 monitor for that authentic experience 🏴☠

I also have some of those games distributed in magazines. One that comes to mind and that I spent a ton of hours is Pharaoh. Good times!

@ghazzmedia I absolutely did , subbed ❤️
A DVD drive I bought in 1998 came bundled with this and Wing Commander 4, so I played the "Remastered" version of this game.

Agreed! It’s really well done in that department - maybe except Tiger Island. That level is something else 😅

I feel exactly the same. I had the full box as well and it got lost with time somewhere in my house. At least I still have the original CD 😄

Claw will never get old for me
Strangely, I've never played this!
You should! 😄 I even have the original CD
@@ghazzmedia i'll try to track it down eventually.
Now THIS, this is a worthy Mascot Platformer!
That’s something we can agree on!

Old games have a special place in our hearts, and Claw is also one of those for me.

There are some things that just feel better if experienced like it was in the old days!
love this game tbh my childhood
I feel the same, one of the best titles from mine.
LOTS of people played Captain Claw in my country
Where are you from? Curious, because it could have been a place with a good amount of copies sold.
@@ghazzmedia Poland. Everyone played "Kapitan Pazur" :D
From my research, I never found that it actually had a fanbase in Poland, that's really nice to know!
Loved it as a kid, along with jazz jackrabbit this was the best you could get when it came to multiplayer with kinda rubbish pcs
I’m not familiar with Jazz Jackrabbit, I’ll look into it
I played this when I was akid
Hope you had fun!
niceeeeeeeeeeee
