FANTASTIC JOB !!!! I am a Marine Corps Veteran and I want to do this as well . Just acquired a piece of land and now onto getting the hoop house up and the system like yours set up . I wish I were closer to pick your brain for the day 😊
Looks pretty over there but please keep it over there! LOL.. Wayne is the best I tell ya. So many folks have no idea what that man does behind the scenes! Great answers Mr. Wayne! This will help so many folks out there trying to learn this growing and will learn so much from you. You folks are just so awesome! That is all there is to it!! Keep up the wonderful work my friends!
It sure is pretty, but that's the only nice thing I have to say about it. Are you sure you don't want some???lol. Yes, Wayne sure knows his stuff! Thanks so much for the kind words my friend! ❤
I sure appreciate the sharing of your knowledge. Sometimes, I wish I could romp around in that beautiful snowy scenery, but then I go out in our mild cold and that does it. Sure is gorgeous up there.
I have grown Romaine in my basement with led lighting in a similar but much smaller scale setup circulating system. It is pretty easy if you follow along with these videos. I have learned a majority of what I know about hydroponics through these. Thanks for the video... always fun to see what's going on in the lettuce house!
Thanks for the informative video! You guys certainly have it going on up there. Beautiful crops and an awesome setup. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. I have learned a great deal from all your videos. Stay warm!
I have a very small ("three buckets") hydroponic setup at home and did try without anything than sunlight, with "standard light" and with growing lights. Growing lights wins anyday! And when it starts to grow it just explodes in green.
🌶️🌸🌻🥒🍅 good day to you guys !! thanks for answering some of the questions we have about your hydroponic greenhouse !! thanks for the update and adventures on the farm. everything is looking amazing 🍅🥒🌻🌸🌶️
Hi, Is it possible for you to make video about cleaning and maintaining your hydroponic equipment and how often?By the way,I enjoy watching yours videos, and also learning a lot. I wish you very happy New Year!! Best, R.Stajic
You guys are awesome. I have watched all of your videos with my 3 little kids. They are excited to start a neighborhood "lettuce company". We have spent the past year setting up a decent sized NFT operation (15 rails) in our basement with LED lighting. Unfortunately, we have continued to struggle with Pythium on our roots. I have tried the inoculation route with Hydrogard. I've also tried running a sterile system with H202. However, both have resulted in root disease. Each time we shut down the system, everything is sterilized. I'm an engineer by trade, so I'm pretty detail oriented and think I have the system dialed in pretty close to the hundreds of videos I've learned from (flows, ppm, ph, oxygen, light, etc.). However, the frustration is starting to creep in with the amount of effort spent without any decent results. Have you guys had any issues with root rot? If so, any suggestions on how to conquer it? I really appreciate people like you that are willing to share what you're doing!
We absolutely love your videos, and we're modeling our own system after yours. Would you mind telling us where you get the seeds you use and the specific varieties again?
Thank you so much for answering my question as well as others very informative I certainly admire the setup I just subscribed recently I am soon going to start doing this on a small scale due to small budget it's been a dream of mine for a while and hopefully soon will come to fruition thanks again
Hi Patty, Just did a big order with Dubios; thank you so much! It is so hard to find things on the West Coast. Can you please tell me where you got your lettuce pots? You guys are the best.
Hi Folks, your opening shot looks very pretty, but best kept on a postcard. I'm in London Uk and it's a mild 10c & wet. Thanks for the insight, I've been following you for a couple of years and must complement you on your enthusiasm & quality of your produce. I hope the lights won't make too much a dent on your budget but presume that you have done your homework. Keep up the good work & try to keep warm ☃️☃️😎😎👍
Thank you for the detailed information. Can you tell me where you source the root cubes that you use. I'm also in Ontario and cannot seem to find them anywhere.
I want to start my own hydroponic greenhouse and I will be trying to imitate Wayne's setup, very impressive. I believe you recommended American Hydroponics or Cropking for the troughs but I'm in eastern Ontario and as you know, the exchange rate is horrible right now. Do you know of a Canadian supplier for troughs (channels, gullies) and other larger scale hydroponic supplies? Love your videos BTW, I watch and re watch daily.
🌱🌱 Patty & Wayne 🌱🌱I was wondering if you could explain more about the liquid grow material/organic chemicals that you use in the system? I'm seriously wanting to start a system this year and that's the one subject that people on you tube don't talk about or they talking about it in a way that you need a PhD just to understand. Thanks
It looks like the cost for the jiffy pucks are around $0.11 and the oasis cubes are $0.02 each. I think the jiffy picks will require more space to start the seeds than oasis. The yield will have to be 4x’s more the warrant the change. But I am excited to see your results.
1) Hi! May I ask which specific oasis cubes do you use? 2) how frequent do you guys change your reservoir water? 3) do you add nutrients when germination & propagating seeds? Thanks!
I noticed that you guys don’t use net cups and I don’t think I have heard you talk about in any of your videos. Correct me if I missed it. Is there a reason you don’t use them and do you notice any problems with the oasis cubes sitting on the bottom of the channel? Thanks for all you do
Your greenhouse is massive with very high ceilings. Do you think you could have done it with a smaller lower profile house? Or could you double or triple stack your production if you had lights on each level? Also, I have heard that led tubes (day light) 5000K work just as well as the expensive red and blue lights.
Wayne and Patty thank you very much for all the informative videos you put out on youtube! You're the best! I'd love to understand how the plumbing part really works, how are the two different sides of the greenhouse connected? I can see one of the two bigger pipes that originate from the pump going underground at a certain point...does it connect to the other section? and how do you send the water coming from the other section back to the tank? Thank you so much for your time!!!
Hi there. It's Greg from Western Canada here. Wondering on the furnaces in the lettuce house. Is there any reason why I can't put a Mr Heater propane furnace in. It's power vented to the outside. It has aluminized heat exchangers in and someone told me I need to have a Blue flame heater only. With no heat exchanger. I'm so confused. Lol
In one of your previous videos you said you were testing some new grow plugs other than the Oasis ones. Do you have any results? I use the Oasis and need to order more, but if you have better ones I would love to know. Thanks, love your channel.
Just curious on what size oasis cubes you start your seedling in. I know you had said 1” but it looked like there were 11 cubes across so I didn’t know if that was the 104 sheets or the 162? Thank you. You guys are so amazing
It appears that you enter the green house without going through an small enclosed area (an ante room with a door to the outside) if you enter directly to greenhouse would you not get big swings in temperature when people go in and out?
Hi Della, we are planning on building an exterior entrance soon. The temperature really isn't affected by the door opening and closing unless it open for any length of time.
How large of a system that I would need to produce 100 heads of lettuce per week year around? Once I get to that level, I would upscale. I live in North Georgia, Zone 7b.
As far as the light goes are you just extending the photo period or are you trying to up the lumens per square foot? What is your photo period? ty so much.

Thanks Brent! Yes the snow is beautiful to look at but not so much to work in lol. It is beautiful country for sure. Thanks so much for watching!
And we love to help others as much as we can. It makes us smile😀

Yes, we an do that.
That’s one heck of a set up. More than I can do on my property, but neat none the less.

Hi, yes, postcard pretty only! Lol. Thank you so much for following along. Stay dry! 😁
You mentioned the "Lettuce House". Do you have other green houses or grow other crops? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!
you two do a great job working together keep up the good work and want to see how the peat pots work
Thanks! We will keep you updated. Thanks for watching! 😀

You can purchase these through JVK in St. Catherine's.

Great job 👍 I was wondering what a head of lettuce weighs average?from your nft system? And how do you plant your basil? It’s perfect 🇺🇸 thank you ⚡️👍
You said temp is 58 in the wintertime. What air temp do you keep it at in the summertime. Thanks for the video.
First viewer, comment and thumb up 😎

Can you possibly provide a link on where you get the grommets? I checked American Hydroponics and Cropking but didn't see them on there. Thank you!

Hi,
Thank you so much! Actually, I'll do a video on this question today to explain. Thanks for watching!
@@Growwiththelaplantes Thank you a lot guys!!
You're welcome 😁
How long do you leave the lettuce in the nursery trophs before moving to the finishing trophs?
great video

Do you keep your water reservoir at a certain temperature, or is it the same as the air temp you mentioned, 58?

Stick with oasis!! We tried the jiffy plugs, but no success. Nothing beats oasis. We will do a video on this in the very near future.
@@Growwiththelaplantes thank you so much.
love the videos!

There are 12 across with a total of 276 per sheet. They are just short of an inch.
Oh ok thank you so much. And then you use those same ones the entire time correct?
@@ginJAH420
Yes we do, from start to finish. Thank you so much for watching! 😃
I’m from California very cool!
Thank you and thanks for watching!😀
What was in that Jiffy sample package?
Hi guys. do you get pelleted seed or regular seeds when you order bright light chard?
where to buy that oasis foam? i can't find it here in the philippines.
What is the product number oasis you use?

how much propane do you use in 1 winter?
