I heard the smiler one when I was in high school in Brussels. I also learned about d'Ogen a few years ago. We have some really cool stories. F.e.: In Wallonia there is a legend about a monsterous bird who kills you when you go out when it freezes.
I've heard of the buckriders. My grandma told me about them when I was little. She had also told me about the angel of mons. And about the needles. The eyes was something my grandpa told me about.
When she started talking about that murderer from Mons I thought "okay but if you wanted a scary serial killer you should've taken Dutroux" He really had an influence and thanks to him my mom was overprotective

Belgium was founded 1830 but that does not mean there were no people living here before that. We were founded because we didn't want to be Dutch, because we didn't want to be French. Learn some European history before u say anything you don't know about. Google isn't that hard to use

i live in belgium and have an urban legend of my own. well a woman told me this one when i told her where i lived. i live near an abandoned psychiatric hospital and it is said that a woman used to live there because she believed that she was a witch and in order to gain control of her so called dark magic she had to sacrifice other humans. her white cat, as loyal as she/he was, followed her to the hospital the proof of this urban legend is that i can still spot a white cat sometimes near the now-abandoned hospital.
