Everything you do is an absolute joy to watch, it's very out of the ordinary to actually have stuff that's informative and entertaining on the brain drain box.

Thanks for the trailer. I thought it was an old series when I saw it on the TV guide, so glad it’s not. 👍👍👍

I'm looking forward to this eventually making its way onto the (legal) internet so people outside the UK can enjoy this.

It's hard to get these quality British documentaries in the US. About all you can get on BBC America is Star Trek, old movies and Doctor Who. Britbox is slightly better, but it seems to be all drama. Acorn TV actually has documentaries, but they are older and there aren't that many. I just wish I could pay the TV license and get the BBC here. I usually end up on TH-cam or some other site to watch, but would rather do it legally if I could.

@@K_rye If it's proper Star Trek from before Abrams ruined it, that's not such a bad thing.

Dear Alice, not knowing where to put this question, I decided to ask here. Can you recommend some good books on archaeological findings in Mesopotamia and Middle East that are mentioned in bible...but the ones that are not falsified by the authors viewpoint and believe in god. Something like the burning bush from the bible wasn't a miracle but a natural occurrence of plant that has a lot of oils in it, moses separating see is not a miracle but a natural occurrence - a depression in earth, etc. There are lots of them. Something like a discovery you did with a myth of King Arthur. Thank you. 👋

I have been really enjoying this series until this season. There seems to be a very anti-British slant to the script all of a sudden.
Season 3 is very BLM which is ok however it has problems like a brief mention of the Irish famine during one of these moments is like what? The death of 2.5 millions (This is the guess because no one kept count) Irish people gets 2 sentences so we can talk more about how evil the British Empire was which causes the famine so missed opportunity there really.
Also Nelson gets a kicking however the one thing in his defense is never brought up, he had been to Africa so would have seen Africans selling Africans. There seems to be a blind spot in the conversations about the slave trade in that it was an African idea and practice which had been going on for at least a 1000 years and carried on when it was banned by western countries.
Also I am not sure I can forgive Manchester as the industrial Revolution town what does Birmingham have to do to get any love?

Agreed one thousand per cent, Alice does some very good programs, but the British bashing and wokeness of some of the episodes gets very tiresome. I have to record them now and fast forward all the tripe.

Such a shame I was enjoying this series. But if you want a perfect example of cancel culture this episode is it
Nelson despite being dedicated navy man, winning Trafalgar, stopping an invasion of Britain, and sacrificing his life in the process now has to be stripped of the rank of hero as he didn’t support abolition enough and wasn’t nice to his wife
    Poor

It is about context and we should make our own judgements. No doubt I will be labelled as a climate criminal, for driving a transit van. Despite me doing my best for the environment, I am on the wrong side of history too!
