Oh my goodness! I teared up with you. September is my mom’s Angelversary and I was reading this morning in my journal about her last days and the shift that occurred - it became sacred. Grief took on a different meaning. It is not just sadness for the loss, but also love and joy and gratitude. It’s a place holder for a little while until we meet again. Grief is, at times, welcome. It hits suddenly and washes over me. I have made it my goal to honor that grief, feel the loss and all the love I have, wherever I am (usually Costco). And the greatest gift anyone can give me during those times is sit with me in my grief. Let me feel what I feel, talk or not, and honor my mom. Thanks.
