Thanks so much Gavin!! Great to hear from you. The restricted view permission level isn't really that common of a thing to use, to be honest. It doesn't always show up either from what I heard. A custom permission level would be more reliable than these "auto generated" permission levels.

That's correct, because in this context, syncing files is the same as downloading them.
Does this also prohibit users from opening documents in the native app?
Yes, it prohibits that as well.
