From an early age, Rupert Spira was deeply interested in the nature of reality and the source of lasting peace and happiness. After spending twenty years immersed in the teachings of classical Advaita Vedanta, he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, who introduced him to the Direct Path approach whereby one may recognize the source of peace and happiness in oneself. Rupert has written several books and holds regular meetings and retreats online, as well as in Europe and the United States. He is also a noted potter, trained in the British Studio Pottery school, with work in public and private collections.

Emotions are the image of the source itself. The body is the mind, due to our senses we feel finiteness. Human perceptions are half real half created. ❤
Amazing conversation, thank you. I get the understanding that the emotions are contained within the awareness but are perceived separately because they're vibrating at a different frequency (more dense than awareness)? So to 'absorb' the emotion fully it has to adapt to the frequency of the awareness?

Have you considered childhood tragedy? When other children die, it is hard to embrace. But as we age we can integrate it into our being and in old age let it blow like autumn leaves...
This no resistance practice of accepting the emotion as part of awareness is not easy. It makes beautiful sense but it is going to need work on my part.
This is not something that works, but those guys found an excellent way to monetize people's expectations for a better life.
That presupposes freedom of volition. However, it is a demonstrable scientific fact that EVERY motion or thought which has occurred in the phenomenal universe was entirely determined by every preceding action, all the way back to the “Big Bang” singularity event. 🤓

@@TheChopraWell I've been doing visualizations today. Feeling my painful memories and emotions without resistance. It is difficult for me not to resist and I agree that the pain comes from resistance. I will continue to practice this as I found it to be a revolutionary way to deal with painful emotions. I'd love to read Rupert's book and it would be wonderful if he agreed to do a series on it with you!

You may believe that there is an old man with a white beard perched in the clouds, that Ultimate Reality is a young dark-blue-tinged black Indian guy, that the universe is eternal, that Mother Mary was a certifiable virgin, or that gross physical matter is the foundation of existence.
The ONLY thing which really matters is your meta-ethics, not your meta-physics. Do you consider any form of non-monarchical government (such as democracy or socialism) to be beneficial? Do you unnecessarily destroy the lives of poor, innocent animals and gorge on their bloody carcasses? Do you consider homosexuality and transvestism to be moral? Do you consider feminist ideology to be righteous? If so, then you are objectively immoral and your so-called “enlightened/awakened” state is immaterial, since it does not benefit society in any way.
