"Remember! The V3's Torpedos will hunt you down in your own Hangarbay and the Force will be with you...Always!" I don't think the Force is with me if that Happens! O_o
I remember playing TIE Fighter. I always feared a Victory worse than an ISD due to those twin warhead launchers flanking the bridge that covered both each other and the shield generator domes (I know they're not canonically shield generators, but they were in the game). With an ISD, you could fire a few salvos of twin torpedoes from a relatively safe range and kill the warhead launcher or the shield generators, but a Victory would inevitably shoot down your warheads with its own, while making your life absolutely miserable as well. They were just a far nastier thing for a starfighter to have to deal with. FYI, canonically, those domes are NOT the shield generators. They are sensor domes. The Executor didn't lose its shields because one of the domes was destroyed. The destruction simply made them aware that the shield was down. The confusion is understandable, so much so that even LucasArts games used it, but there has been plenty of material since then that better explains it.
Which really doesn’t make any sense because the dialogue used is “Sir, we lost our bridge deflector shields!” Context of “we” and not “we have” or “we’ve” meaning they just lost it. Also- should the ship have told them the shields were down instead of it taking a fighter to destroy it? Nah- I think the mistake is whoever made the cross-section designs.
I would like to see a First Order conversion on the old Imperial class. At least the bridge between the Imperial Fleet Remnants to the introduction of the Resurgent Class.
2:12 wait that was them leaving the Venators shields?!? I thought that effect was them activating an afterburner type thing. It looked like the engines got brighter when that happened too which is why I thought that.
I think the edges are rounded for 2 reasons, first it’s easier for the shields to wrap around, second as a added benefit it’s more ballistics. A rounded surface is more difficult to penetrate because the impact is spreading out over a larger area vs a flat surface and it’s having to penetrate more area for the same amount thickness and material.
I like this ship, it's like the empire created their own nebula and I really like the look of it, almost as if you combined slight parts of mon calamari engineering with Empire technology
I love the whole Victory-class series of ships. It's like the closest thing to the independent 4th rate "Great Frigates" of the end of the age of sail, and the independent 1880s and inter-war Armored / Heavy Cruisers optimized to fight in far flung locations against a variety of foes outside of the traditional battlelines of fleet actions.
I just found this channel and am so impressed on the level of detail that goes into these descriptions!!! Especially with the ships and vehicles. All the descriptions make sense for what they would have been used for and how they were designed. I'm not really a Star Wars fan but find this stuff so interesting
FYI, the "blue circles" around 2:10 aren't the fighters leaving the shields, but the turbo boost effect from the engines, (note the different distance from the capital ship, as well as the engine glow getting brighter immediately before the circles appear)
Though it may a legacy to the Empire Navy it will still feel that the Victory with New Republic combat doctrine. The pure destructive power for combat is truly impressive, but since they can’t hold more starfighters the New Republic will never make it unless it had a much larger hanger.
I'm disappointed you never mentioned the Harrow-class Star Destroyer. The first fanon Victory-III Star Destroyer based on a Victory-class Star Destroyer in canon that is very similar to an ISD in design. Mostly due to artistic license from a comic work. You dropped the ball :P
shields in Starwars don't normally seem to be "bubbles" so much as form-fitting energy cloaks perhaps sharp edges, while easy to make and maintain, make shields easier to break?
Because the cunts that lead LucasFilms and Disney regret their brash ass choice for getting rid of all the content in the EU and now these bitches trying their damndest to make tech and concepts that rival it but all of it is just poor level fanfic shit ! Crystal Star puts their content to shame 😤
I know I'm late to the party here, but it looks like the launch tubes are on the rear end of the ship, with there being armor flaps on the tip of either wing corner. This actually isn't a bad call as it minimizes the risk of detonation due to the tubes being struck during combat while also taking advantage of the unique flight path that the missile would take as it adjusted to a target from a rear launch, which would make it harder to shoot down.
As regards shielding. IIRC from the encyclopedia, there were actually three variants in SW, Ray, Particle, and finally Deflector (which did both). Many capital ships used almost entirely deflector for the vast majority of the vessel with ray particle combinations for things like hanger bays and such. This slowly changed after around 2000 and really started to take off after the first EAW. If you play the X-WIng series you will know, torps/missiles definitely do not go through shields. It's like the creep of in the past there being north of 200,000 SD's at the Empires height now retconned down to 20,000. Honestly for an Empire consisting of millions of worlds (yes millions), 200,000 seems quite low. Before you go saying where are the materials coming from I would respond, look at the scope of planets and other such objects and such compared to say a 1.6km starship and ya, there was more than enough materials to go around. In fact, I would not be surprised that if you took only our star system and converted all usable materials into the Imperial navy's SD fleet (not considering non-existent/undiscovered elements and materials) I would anticipate that the entire Imperial fleet of SD's at 200,000 would hardly put a dent in the total amount of mass in our solar system. Finally a quick note about Mon Cala shields and such. From the original (best cannon, pre-2010 or thereabout), it really depends on when the Mon Cala was built. The first versions which were converted for Alliance use had usually anywhere from 20 - 30 turbolasers on them. Later (with the liberty and such) these came north of 45 typically. Still, nothing compared to the gunnery batteries available on an ISD or IDS2. As for shields, back then the ISD had stronger overall shield strength (by roughly 1/4) compared to the typical Mon-cala, but with the redundant shielding, this usually resulted in much quicker refresh rates on a mon-cala's after absorbing fire. Still, back then it was stated directly from Lucasarts itself that no Alliance commander would ever try a toe-to-toe gunfight with an SD in their cruiser. Lucasarts also specifically stated at the time that the only Alliance ship in the entire Rebel fleet that could toe-to-toe an SD was Home-one and I believe it sat at 80 - 90 guns? The real deal-breaker was its much larger size, hull capacity, and shield capacity compared to any SD at the time. Looking over how things have changed since then, given the Alliance's ability to avoid and strike when they wish, if the Cala's could one v one any SD, why avoid them so much? Also, why call an SD a "destroyer". Technically by our definition given its fighter complement and firepower, that is a battle-carrier. Later on in the timeline, SD's did upgrade to Class 1. It became the standard of military operationS for capital class ships for all factions down the road.
I like how it looks very Imperial but is much more rounded and sleek looking. I would really like to see more imperial/first order ships like this in cannon.
From something I either read or watched years ago the particle shields required less power to run and were always active and energy shields were only activated when there was the threat of energy weapons since space is full of micro meteorites and so on there for the flak and debris would have to overwhelm those particle shields to get through them
Can't wait for that Flak weapon video! I never understood what it was but now I feel like I sorta get it and it makes alot of sense now why in WWII movies I keep seeing TONS of ammunition explode without hitting stuff. I was like "wtf, are those bullets designed to explod3 at a specific range? Why? How?" But now I kinda get it. The cloud left behind acts as a hazard that passively damages anything flying through it. In the Empire at War game, this would be simlar to the Buzz Droids ability Starvipers have except delivered to a target at a distance from a Mass Driver-ish weapon.
The reason the mom Cal have such powerful shields is that instead of two shield projectors they have dozens and they overlap making for a nested extra strong shield
Even concussion missiles and proton torpedos are energy weapons, physical as well as flak would not have the same physics in space and would not work at all.
Concussion missiles and proton torpedos are not energy weapons, the missiles and torpedos we see are shielded which makes them look like energy weapons.
One nit-pick is that as the Imperial Remnant had lost so many munitions production facilities, I would have expected them to move even further away from carried expendable munitions. A few legends sources mention that the Rebels had trouble keeping supplied with concussion missiles & proton torpedoes, & now the Imperial Remnant is in a somewhat similar situation. Still, it's a really cool ship design.
So hopefully you can pin this, since I noticed a small error in terms of who you credited. The design of the Victory III is solely Shoguneagle's for his "Infinities"/Alternate Universe Father and Son of the Suns, he simply commissioned Adamkop for the 3D model. Edit: After further watching, though it is definitely a good explanation of how the details for the FaSotS Victory-III could exist in canon, with some assumedly personal changes, it's highly inaccurate to the story behind the actual Victory-III in the setting, with even points about the stats being different.
I LOVE this design! I think this is the ideal mainline "pocket Star Destroyer" line for the Imperial Remnant other than the Turbulent-class Imperial Star Destroyer. I like to think the Turbulent-class is great for offensive strikes while the Victory Mk.III can do the sniping and weaken Rebel capital ships so other friendly Imperial capital ships can obliterate them. I also think a rapid response battle group comprised of Victory Mk. II and IIIs, a handful of updated and improved Acclamator-class cruisers, and a couple of Venators could keep in pace with Rebel and pirate ships or quickly reinforce key Imperial worlds from enemy fleets before your standard Imperial fleet consisting of Imperial I and II Star Destroyers and cruisers joins the fray.
Those large dots could be housing AG-2G quad or even its octal laser cannon, think of them as the Oerlikon 20 mm cannon, Bofors 40 mm L/60 gun on the Iowa & North Carolina class battleships of the US Navy, these would be manually operated but if you had targeting computer that gave you detail of what is coming your way, this could give you the edge in creating a death field effect, anything flying that direction would be torn to shreds, A secondary system of medium guns such as the 15 cm SK C/28 on the Bismarck & Scharnhorst class, in the form of particle canons, 5-inch/38-caliber dual-purpose canons in the form of either Flack or Mass-driver cannons, The ion canons could also be used to create a ion net wave effect, spreading the shock and frying pilots and incoming missiles,
Rounded probably makes shield distribution easier because every shield generator makes a circle. Instead of a point getting further away from the generator.
You forgot that capital ships have multi layered deflector shields which have a particle shield to prevent projectiles from getting through. Flack missiles are more to deal with fighters since the New Republic is known for using more fighters than the Empire
The victory 3 is from a fan made AU called Father and Son of the Stars, where Anakin Skywalker never fell to the Dark Side and Palpatine was stopped, However the war with the Confederacy continued and many of Palpatines supporters fled to the Confederacy
What do you think of the Revenge class heavy carrier from the IMPS fan films, considering its stats would you consider giving it a position in your own custom fleet
Wow this ship is perfect. If I were a New Republic Commander or Admiral I'd want to capture one and see where the NR could make improvements. Would point defense weapons be effective in countering the V3's missiles/torpedo's.
i think most ships have particle shields so random space debris doesn't rip them apart, but i guess the flak guns and torpedoes could overwhelm the particle shields.
I like the overall design, but I don’t think the stats work well for the Remnant. I’d keep the length the same and for weapons use a combination of the V1 and V2s since that would make conversions/repairs easier and be far better for crew training as it wouldn’t take long to transition from one Vic pattern to another. Likely trade the fighters and ground forces for more support systems or a larger reactor to power everything. Should help boost shield and engine output while being able to run the uprated weapons. Also probably take a couple lessons from the Assault Frigate and strip down the armor in favor of better engine performance. Has the added benefit of reducing the construction cost too.
I don't like how it still does not have at least some laser cannons. Flak cannons are great, so are sharpnel torpedoes. But they can run out as they are expended, where as laser cannons can keep shooting practically forever. But it looks brilliant so all is forgiven.
Great video! I thought this ship was for the FaSotS setting however, where the Republic never became the Empire, so technically this ship would be a Republic warship, not an Imperial Remnant one.
Get rid of the bridge super structure..... compress it into the “steps” and this will be a true upgrade to even the imperial 1/2 star destroyer. Lower profile harder to hit, Use heavy automation to reduce the crew numbers Remember this is a remnant ship they don’t have near unlimited numbers. Place an armour plate over the top of the engine units. Also install at least 2 heavy particle beam weapon turrets like the republic walker versions...... for ship to ship combat they are very effective.
Don't know what the O.G. designers of these ships were thinking. It's Star Wars for Christ's sake and they're in a universe where cults can destroys cities with their minds bruh. To this day, my favorite ship design in all Star Wars will be the Harrower-Class Dreadnaught used by the Resurgent Sith Empire of Darth Vitiate. That thing had everything you needed to damn a world to brutality, swarm an enemy with numerous squads of starfighters, fire a barrage of turbolasers that flanked the low profile bridge, stupidly thicc hull plating, speedy acceleration, and etc. What more could you want from a ship ?
BlackShogun 27 I’ve never been a fan of large imposing ships..... small highly effective well armed pocket battleships are my choice, they are very versatile I liked the republic Venator....... let’s have a venator 2 upgraded weapons particle cannons improved shields armour and get rid of the tower
It definitely looks nice but idk if I like the smooth rounded edges as Imperial. Imperial design tends to favor that battleship boxey look. That grey naval utilitarian design. Making there ships more aerodynamic seems to be like mom calamari got their hands on an imp ship.
2:11 Holy shit, i didn't know that this effect was made by the shields, i always thought that it was some sort of energy burst when the engines of ETA-2s increased throttle
This ship would be more of a Legends “ what if” than Canon, but still it’s interesting if Rendili actually went with this design since they didn’t align themselves with the NR until the Republic SD was contracted .
There's so many great concepts made by fans like Fractal Sponge and this dude. But LucasFilms and Disney have such big ass egos they'd never consider using the actual design of one of these fans but instead make their own that resembled almost everything the fan made originally. Scummy af 😤
In The Ahsoka Show The New Republic Fleet Needs an Additional One Billion Endurance Fleet Carriers, One Billion Nebula Star Destroyers and One Billion Victory 3 Star Destroyers one every 24 hours and have The Victory 3 as Their Back Bone.
man its actually most handsome vessel in starwars history or perhaps 2nd just after armed freighter the brick :D hope disney will purchase it and put into movies
I thought Rendeli Hyperworks was actually owned by Kuat, and was just operated under a separate number to allow Kuat to secretly create the ships and supplies for the Clone army in secret unknown Star system that Kuat had bought? Also, I like the shield bulb placement, I’ve always said that if the Empire insisted on those tall bridge towers, they should at least be utilized to hide the shield bulbs, and thus the bulbs should be under, instead of on top of the bridge, I’m not sure why those entire openings couldn’t be completely closed off by heave armor plating, this making taking of the enclosed shielding units very difficult
Maybe i‘m wrong but this ship seems more to be in an supporting role cause of this flak torpedo and ion cannons and less as an standalone star destroyer
I thought Rendeli Hyperworks was actually owned by Kuat, and was just operated under a separate number to allow Kuat to secretly create the ships and supplies for the Clone army in secret unknown Star system that Kuat had purchased?
i always liked the wedge shaped ships, i would have the bridge in the center near other tactical sections, and where the bridges are standard i would place anti capital weapons, i like the dual towers of the venator class and would make each different, like zans ship, one ion and one massive laser, but prollu less powerful fore both for the size and system strain..
At 4:44 you say class 0.5 hyperdrive and the on screen text shows a 0.8
Yeah that was an audio mistake idk how, it's a class 0.8
Any chance you'll cover the imp missile boats?

That ship looks awesome
Most ships actually had particle Shields, just maybe not around the hanger
It looks like something the First Order would use
rar
I would like to see a First Order conversion on the old Imperial class. At least the bridge between the Imperial Fleet Remnants to the introduction of the Resurgent Class.
Yeah maybe the star destroyers in the second trailer of the rise of skywalker has victory 3s
10 times cooler than the resurgent class
I could easily see this as being built by the first order as a lighter alternative capital ship to compliment the Resurgent class.
Would hope this becomes canon either in a book or in a tv-series
2:12 wait that was them leaving the Venators shields?!? I thought that effect was them activating an afterburner type thing. It looked like the engines got brighter when that happened too which is why I thought that.
It is them adding an afterburner, no idea why he thought it had to do with shields when it was never shown ever again in the prequels.
If your going along with legends, the Eta-2 doesn't even has shields, unless it is a modified variant. MetaNerdz Lore probably confused it.
@@Sistros he means the shields of the venator...
It is the afterburners. Not the shields.
The Invisible Hand’s shield is probably the same as the shield over Scarif, where it blocked ships from entering unless opened.
Particle. Stops physical objects and missiles.
Absolutely cool. It's not only beautiful, it's believable. Hats off to the maker!
Victory 3 vs Nebula: Who would win?
Nebula hands down - its first and foremost an assault boat, with lots of guns, shields.... and armor
Nebula , because plot armor
The Nebula with ridiculous ease
The Victory 3 is an oversized flak boat while the the Nebula is a star destroyer killer. An unfair match.
Nebula, if it can defeat a Tector alone, there's no way an even smaller destroyer could defeat it
I think the edges are rounded for 2 reasons, first it’s easier for the shields to wrap around, second as a added benefit it’s more ballistics.

I just found this channel and am so impressed on the level of detail that goes into these descriptions!!! Especially with the ships and vehicles.
Those large dots could be housing AG-2G quad or even its octal laser cannon, think of them as the Oerlikon 20 mm cannon, Bofors 40 mm L/60 gun on the Iowa & North Carolina class battleships of the US Navy, these would be manually operated but if you had targeting computer that gave you detail of what is coming your way, this could give you the edge in creating a death field effect, anything flying that direction would be torn to shreds,
A secondary system of medium guns such as the 15 cm SK C/28 on the Bismarck & Scharnhorst class, in the form of particle canons, 5-inch/38-caliber dual-purpose canons in the form of either Flack or Mass-driver cannons,
The ion canons could also be used to create a ion net wave effect, spreading the shock and frying pilots and incoming missiles,
Rounded probably makes shield distribution easier because every shield generator makes a circle. Instead of a point getting further away from the generator.
You forgot that capital ships have multi layered deflector shields which have a particle shield to prevent projectiles from getting through. Flack missiles are more to deal with fighters since the New Republic is known for using more fighters than the Empire
its nice to see the empire still have exposed bridges.
The victory 3 is from a fan made AU called Father and Son of the Stars, where Anakin Skywalker never fell to the Dark Side and Palpatine was stopped, However the war with the Confederacy continued and many of Palpatines supporters fled to the Confederacy
What Would Thrawn Do about star ships with round shapes? "Fire all turbolasers at .49 power. The enemy will round it down and ignore the attack."
You should definitely do a collaboration video with EckhartsLadder. I'd watch it.
Oh that ship deserves place in Canon / EU 🙂
Very cool design 👍
What do you think of the Revenge class heavy carrier from the IMPS fan films, considering its stats would you consider giving it a position in your own custom fleet
Wow this ship is perfect. If I were a New Republic Commander or Admiral I'd want to capture one and see where the NR could make improvements. Would point defense weapons be effective in countering the V3's missiles/torpedo's.
Hey Meta Neder can we please get a video on the Skipray Blastboat?
Could it defeat a Nebula-Class Star-Destroyer?
I would think those rounded edges would be accordion doors protecting the variable missle launchers in this position they are closed
i think most ships have particle shields so random space debris doesn't rip them apart, but i guess the flak guns and torpedoes could overwhelm the particle shields.
I love this ship, I hope they find a way to get it canonized.
What's his weaponry? I suppose it still has turbolasers and laser cannons?
Great ship design!!
Awesome video. It’s like a fusion of the previous 2 models in 1 overall better ship. Could you do more videos on Fanon ships?
Lower profile harder to hit,
Use heavy automation to reduce the crew numbers Remember this is a remnant ship they don’t have near unlimited numbers.
@@Marcus51090 wait, but my Harrower model is literally 300+ meters shorter than yours bro 😂
Give me a chance to upgrade 🤣
BlackShogun 27 that’s too small lol
MetaNerdz Lore do the starhawk class battleship Mark-II
Please, is there ANY way we can get these 3D files for printing for Armada?? I thought I wanted a Nebulon-A frigate bad, but this...
Darth Vader’s flagship the executor has particle shields as seen in episode 5 when the asteroids
Venator missile launchers are ib front in pairs aside the forward launchbay blast door
Honestly im still wondering who thought it would be a good idea to put the shield generators on the outside of a ships armor plating.
Hey, meta , could you make more star wars fanon lore videos please? 😁🙏
This probably never made it to mass production, because of shipyards being taken over. If it was Canon that is.
I think it fits more to the EU/legends setting being built 8 years after battle of endor
Scummy af 😤
1:55 So you sayin that this thing is like a S-7000 mixed with a Tunguska mixed with a Kashtan. Holy those x wings are screwed.
Hi Metanerdz, love the channel! Could you cover the Imperial 3 Class Star Destroyer?
Can you do a video on The Imperial one class Star Destroyer

i always liked the wedge shaped ships, i would have the bridge in the center near other tactical sections, and where the bridges are standard i would place anti capital weapons, i like the dual towers of the venator class and would make each different, like zans ship, one ion and one massive laser, but prollu less powerful fore both for the size and system strain..
