You're underrated! This review was so well-made and explained, you talked about the bad sides a lot, but the good part is that it works better than controllers or keyboard and mouse. The price though is not for me, it considered looking cheap and decent feeling, still not that great, I'd rather buy the Thrustmaster TMX or other cheap budget wheels just because of that price.
Just bought it a few days ago, and for more info I would like to say that the buttons are "programmable", what I mean is the L1/L2 & R1/R2 buttons can be programmed to function differently, problem is once the wheel USB port is unplugged. you will "re-program" it again. and yes I also recommend this wheel as a cheap alternative. Also as a reminder, there is a USB port on the back of the wheel for "adding" more buttons. I recommend using a flight stick as a "hand break" substitute.
These are fine when you can't afford Logitech or Thrustmaster wheels and pedals. Also of note there are no longer labels for Share Home and Options buttons just below the center hub of the wheel. They are now just black rectangles with a small cutout in the middle. The throttle can be adjusted in game (I play American Truck Simulator) and that will make a difference. while this is not something you'd want beyond casual gaming it is decent. You also can't expect much from a $90 unit. This is far better than using a controller (like a 360) or keyboard/mouse for driving sims/racing.
Hey ik its 4 years later but i actually found a solution to the no difference in half or fully pressed pedals! So basically there is a program that you can download to calibrate the pedals as either buttons or axis and thw way to do this is to click share for 3 seconds until the green led turns on the middle of the wheel and then just click left of the d-pad . Thanks for letting me spill my nerdy manual brain onto your channel😂
Im guessing the way this controller works is that they just slapped a D/XInput on this hence the 180 degress rotation, its like a large version of left analog stick, and the foot pedals are just a large L2 R2
I love the honesty definitely my most favorite review I’ve seen on damn near any game accessory review I’ve ever seen most people just do the minumum and say it’s fine but I love the honesty
I wouldn’t mind the wheel if the paddle shifters weren’t so cheaply made. That’s one of the major features I’m really looking for in a wheel. Paddle shifters and force feedback
This review actually helped, you mentioned something along the lines of not using it all the time or competitively it would still be a decent wheel. I'm new to wheels and bought this try it out, I have a PC and a console so if I doesn't work for my console I'll just hook it up to my PC! Ty for a helpful review.
I'm new to wheels too! I'm thinking of getting the Thrustmaster TMX or T300RS/T300RS GT, but a lot of them are sold out and kinda expensive. (not that expensive, kinda.), so this could work, not that great for me though.
@@WhatNowTech It was a problem last year actually! I was stuck with this and mine pulls to the left! When I look at Truck Simulator there is a slight bit on the left on the steering options.
will the pedals work with games like assetto corsa? It doesn't allow input for buttons and only for axis which you said in the video, the pedals only works as buttons.
How is it so far? I'm planning on purchasing this very soon. Im mainly thinking of using it on ETS2, ATS, City Car Driving, and GTA probably. Maybe FH5 if I renew my xbox game pass xd. What games do you play using it and what is your opinion so far?
My wife got me this wheel as a gift. Not what I was expecting, but it's the thought that counts. While playing ATS mainly with it I have found that the steering is super sensitive. I did manage to fix this somewhat, so it's all good. Over all I do not mind the steering wheel. Only problem I have with it is at the center point there is like a notch that catches the wheel to its center point. THat throws me off.. I wish there was a way to fix this either in the ATS settings or software that came with the PXN steering wheel. Thanks for the review. I will trade ya your other steering wheel LOL.
I just bought mine and check this video immediately. I'm going to try it out this evening I will let you guys know 😁 Ok I tried it and everything is much easier to setup than I expected. I only play euro truck simulator and the sensitivity is high but you can config it. Everything working great. I have glass table, the suction cup is strong enough to play. For the price I recommend it.
Lol fits my small paycheck budget! Thx for the review and recommendations for what games are good to use it on and what aren't. 1 suggestion for you though.. maybe try not just blasting through the video next time. You did wayy better than I would have but I did have to rewind a few parts to make sure I heard correctly simply because it just seemed like you were speaking so fast! Other than that Great Vid!
I got a similar one for my birthday on Monday and I attempted to learn to use it on Forza Horizon 4. After over 10 hours of practice, I still can not do a 90 degree turn without running off the road or going under 30 mph. I have tried drifting and I died... I have gotten descent with the wheel for cruising but once I am above 100 mph it feels like trying to control a drift car at mach 2. Horrifying. Do you think if I got a logitech my handling will improve? Or is it easier with a logitech or this wheel?
Hi I have exactly the same problem before. But I found out that it is caused by the deadzone setting in the game. After setting deadzone to 0, the steering is very easy in game. The reason of the issue is this wheel is regarded as a joystick and being set with a large steering deadzone. The deadzone introduces delay and makes it difficult to turn.
Guys I want to buy it It is good or not, plz answer me Like,I like this wheel bc it's very cheap and I saw a lot of people saying it's good I don't want to buy smth expensive like the logitech bc I have an Xbox one not a PC
Hi I just saw this review andplanning on buying this, I was wondering how the pedal works, does the throttle and braking depends how light or hard you press the pedals?
Have you done a review of of the pxn v9?? Would luv to see ur honest opinion and comparison on it.. I'm looking to play games like NFS, FORZA HORIZON, and F1
Hi i dont know if you can help , im on ps4 and trying to play Gran Turismo sport ,the pedals work for Accelerate and brake but can't steer the actual wheel can you help
Great review!! With someone getting into driving games, this product is perfect to practice on. Of course once I get good, i'll upgrade to a $400 - $500 wheel/pedals combo. Being in the computer industry over 20 years, were is the controller properties page. No where to be found ?!
Hey guys, anyone have a solution to this? So the steering wheel returns to the center, right? My right side of the steering wheel (when turning right) works like normal, but the left side is loose and doesn't return. It's very hard to drive normally. It's nothing about settings in - game either, they were the same. How can I fix this? What is the issue?
@@WhatNowTech Thanks! I live in the Philippines and I can't buy the logitech one because its so much expensive. I bought the Hori Apex in the 2nd hand market. I think this is enough for me, I just want to learn how to drive. :)
I would like to buy a wheel, but im not on a too high budget, it would mainly be used for euro truck simulator 2, has anyone got any ideas, and if you do just as a note I'm in the UK so not all wheels would be sold here.
So the Thrustmaster Ferrari has a 240-degree operating range while this one is 180*. That'll make a difference in games, moreover Thrustmaster is a better-known brand. If they cost the same, I'd go for the Ferrari.
