*THUMBS UP FOR JOHN!* *HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO MY AMERICAN VIEWERS!*
I forgot to mention I did play the 2 blu-ray discs on my computer, although I don't have 5.1 surround or Atmos, the sound quality of the stereo mix was superb.
Release date is July 12th. store.johnlennon.com/collections/music/products/mind-games-the-ultimate-collection-deluxe-box-set

Great review! I agree 💯 that “I know (I know)” references Paul’s “Some People Never Know,” which in turn referenced “How do you Sleep?” In its bridge:
‘Some people can sleep at
nightime
Believing that love is a lie
I'm only a preson like you, love
And who in the world can be right
All the right time
I know I was wrong, make me right, right’
Funny that it was The Lennon estate that saw the value of letting Beatles fans on YT enjoy & review these & not the distributor UMG. UMG should take advantage of social media , not ignore it. Happy Election day to UK 🇬🇧 viewers ! Labour 🌹 Landslide coming 😊
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful weekend Larry ❤😊
I love all the original albums John's mix are the real versions for me. Remixes done by someone else doesn't interest me. I can see people want it as an extra.
Very glad to see you received this box set. Well deserved, particularly in light of the difficulties you have faced recently.
Nice review my friend i love John Lennons music take care man.
Wow! I never thought of I Know being a message to Paul. That totally makes sense, especially, as you say, the "getting better all the time" bit. Thanks. Brought a tear to my eye.
You did good..Really enjoyed your review..I always liked Mind Games..Out The Blue might be my favourite track..The Lennon Estate does a great job with these deluxe sets..Very classy packaging..Keeping things consist with pre our sets..and of course the content..👍❤glen
Thanks Glen!
That's a really cool feature with the blacklight, I love a good gimmick like that one, it's perfect!
You did a great review, Larry!😊
Thanks so much!
Awesome Review!!!
Thank you!
I purchased the 2-CD package. I had not listed to "Mind Games" in a long time. I remember the sound quality was not good. I rank his first album as No. 1 and "Walls and Bridges" as No. 2. I really did not listen to the rest of his discography that much. Nonetheless, the remix of "Mind Games" is very good. Lennon's vocals are clear and upfront. The songs are OK. "Meat City" and the title song remain my favorites. Some songs seem a little bit like "granny music" to me. But overall, "Mind Games" is OK. I now rank it No. 3. Thank you Larry.
I was looking forward to the Mrs. miller review hahaha. All jokes aside great video Larry! Happy we still get to watch
That thumbnail had me in stitches! You da man Larry 😂 Cheers from Morten in Oslo 🍁🤗🍁
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful weekend Larry ❤😊
Thanks Larry....good review.....but btw I don't buy the McCartney link in 'I Know' :- )
Awesome review Sir
I am very happy to hear that Mind Games has grown on you
I’ve always said that this album is underrated and I hope that this new mix can help people appreciate it more and that the new John Lennon fans can hear that this album is a masterpiece like all of John‘s albums
I am eager for July 12 to come so that I could have that box set in my hands and so I could listen to not only the new mix of the album, but also the outtakes and the evolution documentaries and the other three CDs as well
Now regarding the song I Know I Know, I think that he wrote it for Yoko but you might be right when you say that he wrote it for Paul
Anyways, God bless you Sir and I will catch you on the next video
Oh, and please wish me luck on finding the hidden tracks
It's the High Quality guy!! Sup, LG😻 Lennon's my fave all time dude. Groovy review.
Yes, I feel it was mostly a “mello” album
Nice review larry as always, Lovely box set now im going to buy it thanks 👍✌️
Good choice! Thanks, Marvin!
Hey Larry!!! Great review - I really enjoy your assessment!!! Would you suggest putting the Nutopian International Anthem on repeat because the remix is so awesome? Probably only to me for being a smart aleck. Well, thanks for your overview. I appreciate your way of going through the music because unlike other channels that feel like they have to go into great detail, you give thoughtful impressions. If I remember correctly, Dear Friend was an ode to John by Paul. I think you hit upon something I never thought of before, that I Know, I Know is an ode to Paul. As I was looking up the lyrics, I found a Reddit "article" that indicated the same thing you said about it. The comment also said I Know, I Know begins similarly to I've Got a Feeling. Pretty cool. A year later John and Paul partied in the studio together in L.A. with Stevie Wonder and I forget who else. May Pang has a very cool photograph of Paul and John together hanging out in 1974. I got off the Mind Games topic, sorry. One thing led to another. Again, thank you for your open and honest thoughts about the Mind Games Box Set. I'll have a copy in a week and a day with a brand new ultraviolet light. Take care, and enjoy the rest of the night!
😄Meat City has to be one of the wildest craziest rock songs ever✨
I've never been into extra stuff Larry,I just want the finished product whether it's on a CD or DVD,for example I've never watched the extra A Hard Days Night or Help DVD's because I just don't care about anything other then the movies and the songs, regarding your box sets I prefer the books with the extra pictures rather then the lesser quality songs, you and other people might like that stuff but I'm just not into it,it's a great gift for sure Larry and I'm glad you like it so enjoy. Bob
I just want to say thanks Larry for this video, you have given me lot's to think about as I eagerly await my copy of the box set, 2 LP and 2CD to arrive next Friday. I don't get all he hoo haa about you getting the box sent to you by the Lennon estate. If people don't like it then it's simple, don't watch the video. It's a bit like folks moaning about something on the TV or Radio, you don't like it either change channels or Stations or switch off your TV or Radio, not that hard. I liked your honest review of this box set, really looking forward to hearing the remix disc of the original album. It sounds like the separation of the tracks is allowing the song's themselves to breathe as it were and give them an all round dynamic in tone, volume and sound. So this should make for very interesting listening. I'm looking forward to playing this set through my recently purchased surround sound system, if the other box sets are anything to go by in doing this, it will sound amazing. Again thank you so much for this review Larry, you are the King of the you tubers in my book, so you tube undemonitize his Canadian Studmuffin channel. Do it, do it, do it now, freeda studmuffin now...
Thank you, Terry!
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin You are more than welcome my friend...
Fab review Larry. Hoping my 6CD set comes in on Friday, I’d like to get a review out asap. I wasn’t going to watch others’ reviews, but I gave in! I know you think you’re not the best reviewer, but I think you did a fantastic job. You kept it concise and easy to relate to. Enjoy! Cheers, Matt 😊❤️👍🍻😎💥🇺🇸
Thanks very much, Matt. Looking forward to your thoughts on the remix!
Genius thumbnail, Larry, in the true Canadian Studmuffin tradition. Excellent review, too. Mind Games was and always will be my favorite John Lennon solo album. (Not that I don’t love every, single one of his albums). I always felt that John was the most interesting Beatle, as well as being supremely talented musically, lyrically and comedically. I’m happy to see the fresh attention being paid to Mind Games!
Thank you kindly!
Great review Larry , enjoyed it a lot . The remix of Nutopian National Anthem - nice 😂 Love these Ultimate mixes boxes, the Lennon Estate have nailed the album centric box set format and should be congratulated
Thanks Tony! ,🙂👍
I bought Mind Games in 73 with my paper round money, took a few weeks to get enough !! I had a basic turn table, with poor speakers ! I loved the Album then and still do, i probably didn’t realise how poor the original production was, it was the songs i loved. Over the years i never understood people’s issues with the production, i do now, but how people dismissed the 4/5 truly strong tunes mystified me, ones you mentioned ! I loved the vulnerability in the melodies ? His voice now sounds beautiful ! Your honesty has made me more excited to get this ! Thank you and take care !
Thank you very much.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin I am going to the Mind Games treasure hunt in Liverpool 😃
I think Sean and the team have really respected fans with all the fun elements to this new package 📦, i find the negativity towards it baffling ? Cheers 👋
All things pass is the best solo Beatles album
Not for me.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin what is your favourite
McCartney's Ram and Plastic Ono Band. @@markshaw-sh6by
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin both excellent albums especially Ram
I really like the 11 minute version of "You Are Here", I think it's great!
Agree!
Release date July 12th. why you post that today and not on July 12th
Because I have had the box set for the past 2 weeks and can review it to let people decide if they want to buy it or not, just like all the other reviews...
You went over each song, so this was a good review. I would, however, like to know what you thought of the new mix cutting the saxophone out.
Like I said, I am not as familiar with the older version as some of the other channels who reviewed the album and compared the new mix to the older one... I just wanted to focus on the new remix and give my thoughts on it. Thanks.
Larry, that half picture of you imitating the Yoko picture is hilarious! Really funny! 😂
Thank you!
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing . It’s perfectly done!
I screenshotted it and saved it! Absolutely hilarious !
Its excellent. It’s got to be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen! lol
I wonder if Julian got his?
Excellent review! 🙂👍xxx.
Thank you! 🤗
Elton John has a version of One Day at a Time as a bonus track on “Caribou”-I think on Caribou
It was the original B-Side of Elton’s version Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds with John.
Great thumbnail and review, nice!
Thanks!
$1695.00 USD ($1700) is way too expensive for me. Only 1100 units are commercially available +60 promo copies. I wish I had that type of cash. Great review, Larry!
That is for the ultimate box set, this is just the deluxe version which is much less expensive.
2 or 6 cd version? That’s the question. Please help.
The choice is up to you.
How come I can’t find Larry Graves asmr channel ?
This is it, I just changed the name.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin Oh, cool. Thanks. ✌️
