    If people learn to park their egos and realise 200bhp is utterly, utterly pointless on our roads, they will be beaming ear to ear on something like this.

    • @p.chakraborty4453
      @p.chakraborty4453 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly, 200hp is for tracks, specially when after looking at the fact that average motogp track speed is 180kph😃😂. Speak now street rossis...

      I just upgraded from an 08 SV650S to a 23 Trident 660. Now I loved the sv, it taught me a lot, but I can’t overstate how much more FUN the trident is. On paper it is slightly slower 0-60, and lower top speed too I think, but it feels significantly faster than the SV. I learned to stop caring about what’s faster or which has a higher top speed, and go purely on feel alone, the Trident 660 is utter bliss.

    Just found this review and I have to say, as an owner of the Triumph Trident 660, I agree with everything said. Wonderful engine made for winding roads, good torque, and I do not need high speed. The suspension is really magic and I have to make an compliment to Triumph, they found a setting that fits perfectly for daily driving. The brakes I also like very much, they are not for racing, OK, but give a very good sense of confidence and they are as I like it, with a type of build in progression. Not to aggressive at the first moment, but then stronger and stronger. I think something very good i.e. when you get in "panic situations". I could go on and on, but the review described it well. Thanks for it.

    • @cuk5506
      @cuk5506 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dick Thundernutz I left the suspension as it is. I just adjusted the rear preload to maximum to fit my weight, which is similar to yours.

    After 2 years this is still the best review of this bike, the most entertaining and the one that sold me on it. Can I pick any holes in it? Yes, after two years of riding it I do want more power and it would absolutely be intolerable to ride w/o the quick shifter -but- it is a very comfortable commuter that is still a blast to thrash on. I’m keeping it for my commuter and will be buying a bigger one to put the fear of god back in me.

      I'm just 21 (yes i think that's young), and I've ridden R1,CBR1000RRR-SP, ZH2, Ducati Panigale V4, Daytona 675r, R6, Ninja ZX 10, ninja Zx6, Ninja 300, RE 350,Himalayan,650s, t100, and speed triple, i had owned a R1, but sold it for other reasons and investments, and got a cycle instead of the bike, and now i am looking forward to getting a Trident 660 , or the Triumph Speed triple, cuz even after riding all i have ridden, ( even been to track a few times) is that no matter what, 200hp is not needed , and all these bikes are great, these 200hp r1s , Panigales, e.t.c, are pretty useless from ergonomics, useless low end, in the street what i suggest is the street triple, or the speed triple .
      Cuz :
      Such a beautiful sound , the exhaust sound changes as the rev increases , from sophisticated in the low to the roaring in the high ,
      Mechanically (a mechanical engineer here) , and as a bike enthusiast, 3 Cyls are the best when it comes to power delivery, low end torque + top end rush , and due to triumphs T-plane crankshaft (perfect secondary balance) this thing revs very high for a engine that size , and reaches redline quicker than any I4...
      I've plenty experience, owned an R1 (sold last year and got a cycle), r6, zx 10r, the busa, Zh2, RSV4, panigale, cbr 1000, and z900 , daytona 675, street triple 675RS, RE bikes,and what not , but i find three cyls the best among inline 4s and 2s (Vs are better ). (Except some radicals i4s ).

      Speed triple 1200 RS: Very experienced rider.
      After riding 200hp bikes and a load of others, basically every kind of bike you can think of, i believe that hp is not what makes a bike fun, it's the torque delivery, and the gorgeous quality and comfort, even on a track, cuz I've seen guys with speed triples destroying supersports.

    Proper review, not like another Utuber I can think of! I think that 80 odd HP is possibly the most fun and useable power to have. Well done Chris, will subscribe now.

    Really great review! I like in the Paris region and have been through loads of bikes in the past couple of years. Finally "settled" on a little Frantic 500 Scrambler as a fast, light, fun bike for short commutes and errands. But I have to admit I'm once again tempted!! Damn!

    Great review, I’m an experienced rider looking for a second bike for commuting & a bit of weekend Tom foolery & this ticks all the boxes. Had a second generation Street Triple a while back & this looks like it’s modern cousin. Reminds me of why I got into biking in the first place.
    Must sort a test ride.
    Thanks 👍

    Giving a bike a proper thrashing is what makes motorcycling thrilling. I currently own a GSX s1000f and it is way too powerful to be as fun as a motorcycle should be. I think I am going to trade it in for a Trident.

    I just bought this bike a week ago after having had the Suzuki SV650 for 2 years. As I am a tall person the SV650 didnt quite fit me so I wanted a bike that suited me better (Im 1.89). The engine in the SV650 is by far better, but this is also a really good bike and a lot of fun to drive. For me its just a way more comfortable ride

    an he's out there ripping it too, u gotta know his opinions are bang on everything. a real rider, not these people review things going 30-40 thru town an say its super fun, super torquey. we all know/think its great looking an sounds great already, put it thru its paces an he does!.
    I dont rip it like that anymore for a long time, well occasional straight line burst, but nice to know it can, and totally makes me hold his reviews in the highest regard.
    Im the older rider who would replace by trade in my 3rd bike in stable and be the smallest CC, & 12th bike in a lifetime. one was a bonne many eons ago. this would be for short trips an some fun.
    good its the triple as the twins just dont do it for me, too slow low Hp.
    theyre listing here in US right now locally for 8195 USD base model, Im a have a look n a ride.
    I was exhilarated just watching that boy rip it. woooo.
    manufacturers?- wanna sell bikes?. give it to Chris for a video review.

      Cheers, we feel the same, wouldn't you like to see what the bike your planning to buy is capable of? We don't do average reviews, why watch an average review when you can just go and ride one for yourself. Thanks for getting it! Al

    Finally a Triumph with a proper headlights!!! One that doesn't stick out a foot past where you'd expect them to be. I don't mind the twin headlights on the StreetTriple, just hate that they are affixed to the frame instead of swiveling with the forks, like here on the Trident. This looks so much better!
