I’m watching this season with a different perspective. Purely as a melodramatic story, which is fantastically reimagined of course! Especially this scene, Margaret and Peter. So sensitive and touching. And the music…oh dear, just perfect. Loved it !!
Stardust by Hoagy Carmichael. But the instrumental version in this dance I cannot find it. It’s really beautiful! Love it. If someone knows please share.
Que hermosa canción, pienso en mi amado cuando escucho esta canción da ganas de escribirle cartas de amor, el amor que tenia margarita era único pero no tuvo un final feliz 😢
The scenes between Peter and Margaret in this episode were the most touching to me. ❤️ But hopefully people won’t take the love story they saw in this episode too literally. Sometimes certain scenarios are better for entertainment purposes as opposed to a portrayal of how things played out in reality. In real life, the Queen and prime minister had paved the way for Peter and Margaret to marry, but the love was no longer there (maybe it wasn’t ever true love to begin with?), or had at least mostly diminished that it wasn’t worth marrying. All Margaret would have lost was her claim to the throne. And what were the chances of her ascending the throne anyway?
Margaret told her biographer that her love for Peter did fade during their two year separation, which is why she chose not to go ahead with it. However, close friends also claimed no one told Margaret the plans. Nonetheless, she probably regretted this decision.
She was given a choice which was actually NO choice...she was not strong enough to fight the establishment (maybe because she was very young). In fact she was left all alone (the queen mother wasn't there for her and the queen's hands were tied in this matter). She was trapped and tired.... of course she regretted it later but it was too late... Peter was always in her soul and perhaps that was the reason she wasn't satisfied with any man she met afterwards.... for her no-one was like Peter. Townsend was her idol.
Poor Margaret you can really tell that when she found out she couldn’t marry Peter(Her soulmate) it broke her and then when he had moved on so fast explaining it in that letter it really extremely truamatized her 😢
He didn't move on fast, he became engaged four years after their relationship ended to a woman who looked so much like her. Frustrating as it is, he deserved some happiness since he was practically banished from the RF he was devoted to and Margaret got to enjoy her privileges.
This is FICTION, this is NOT REAL! In real life she actually had opportunity to marry him, she only had to relinquish her right to the throne (she didn't have any chance to ascend to begin with), she was able to preserve all other privileges and responsibilities... So she didn't actually lose anything yet she still refused. Why? Because she didn't want marry him afterall. It;s not as melodramatic in real life, it's not some grand love story, don't make tragedy out of banal affair. She's not a victim, she made her choice consciously. So don't jump to conclusions based on this FICTION and popular myths.
People called Margaret an entitled brat when we don't know the full story of why she decided to remain a princess rather than leave to marry Peter Townsend. There might've been different reasons. Who knows? Life is complex and hard even for one born into the British Royal Family.

She would have had to give up being a royal

What a shame that they couldn’t have gotten together!
Maybe boths biggest what ifs:(
Can I ask what instrumental version of stardust was used in this wonderful scene?
I would like to know as well. I’m going to dig around on the Internet and see if I can figure it out. I love the trumpet and I love the key changes.
It is actually Hoagy Carmichael, 1942 Best of....:)

Margaret deserved better. Charles and Diana deserved better.
Stardust
This is where the show veers into outright soapy melodrama...
Does anyone know the name of this and who performed it?
this is my favorite scene in this episode!!!!
what is the name of the music?
the song is stardust, but this specific version of the instrumental is unknown
What is the song? I'm in love we them 🥰🥰
it's called stardust
pls can someone say me the song name???
What episode was this
4° episódio da 5° temporada.
Even though I love this song, the stop-action photos are stilted and interrupt the flow of the music.
Que canción es ?
Stardust from Hoagy Carmichael
This season was the worst, slow and superficial, but this dancing scene was amazing.
