    In short, Gan is the Apple of cubing. Revolutionary at first but then only realease new -phones- cubes that's amazing compared to old generations but mid compared to current cubes with extremely high prices. And people would still eat it up because it's Gan/Apple. It's great how much Gan changed speedcubes but i don't see them going up from now with those prices.

      I mean wouldn't put it that way. A lot of people don't realize this with phones is ecosystem which isn't a thing that exists in cubing. If you have an iPhone, it's hard to switch to an android (or any non iPhone). Not only is it a different UI, it's a whole different ecosystem. Not so easy to transfer everything, as well for paid apps you have to buy them again in the google playstore (or whatever one) or they might not even be available (granted usually it is the other way around).
      But here's the thing with cubing, someone can relatively easily switch from a Gan cube to a non gan cube. While the cube might feel a lot different, but you can get used to it and in fact you might find yourself to prefer it as it won't take as long to get used to as switching a phone ecosystem.
      So with that said, Gan has to actually worry about their customers switching to buying other branded cubes as they can more easily do that. x

    Great job man. Honestly it really depends on the user what cube they like. Because a lot of the top cubers use the Gan 12 or 13.❤

    • @CewbPianist
      @CewbPianist ปีที่แล้ว

      Top cubers don't really use the 13. If you look at all gan sponsorees, none use the Gan 13. I will say Seung Hyuk Nahm did try using the Gan 13 at one point, but he immediately switched back to the 12.

    I think gan is definitely falling. The 14 is really uncontrollable and unstable, pops a lot, and sounds really bad. General gan problems since the 11. People care less and less about gan.
    Also, they didn't revolutionize piece design too much, apart from the centers.
    Also, their pieces are the exact same as the xs, they just have more magnets which the want you to believe is better.

      tbh after the 11 and 12, gan 3x3's have been honestly very disappointing.

      As I said, these features were not originally from GAN. However, GAN has taken these features to a new level.

      @@TheSuperflip Except in no way did they take it to a new level...
      It's he exact same thing, except GANs had that inferior GES adjustment system but that doesn't change anything about maglev.
      In general, GAN doesn't innovate, they copy - Now this isn't all that bad since everyone copies, but the bad parts are claiming GAN is doing anything revolutionary, and also that they price them in the most predatory way imaginable. Also was bad where you claimed most puzzles use these features because of GAN when GAN uses these features because of other puzzles.

  • @CewbPianist

    Sorry but have to say I disagree with most of these innovations, most of them are copied off of other companies or individuals or simply obselete.
    I wil give gan credit though for adjustable magnets and corner center magnets as they were the first to experiment putting magnets in different places.
    Overall with that said I don't think Gan is anywhere near the most innovative cubing company even when it comes to just 3x3 hardware.
    As for 3x3, the most innovative company has to be Dayan, as they have done the most innovation. They invented florian holes for corner cutting with the guhong, as well as torpedoes with the Lunhui, which was than used in the ever popular zhanchi.
    But if you're talking overall wise, Dayan is only good at making 3x3's, 2x2's. megaminxes, and maybe decent at some non wca puzzles. As for overall wise it's hard to choose cause most companies are good at certain things, and do lack in certain aspects.

  • @kiraPh1234k
    @kiraPh1234k ปีที่แล้ว

    So much misinformation...
    Dayan definitely had a larger impact than GAN, with EVERY speedcube today being inspired by the Guhong.
    The internals, inspired by Dayan.
    The centers, inspired by Dayan, the original Guhong used a beveled design and GAN took it to an extreme making it round.
    The GES nuts inspired by Moyu DAS, except that the DAS is clearly superior in every way to GES nuts. Even ignoring that you can change DAS setting by hand, carrying 1 tool around is better than 7 pairs of extra nuts.
    Magnets GAN just took from cubers modding puzzle, same with maglev.
    Bluetooth they copied from Giiker.
    I think the only thing GAN actually came up with was adjustable magnets, but the system isn't great and it certainly isn't copied by most cubes.
    GAN is more like Apple, copies most of their stuff providing little to no innovation of their own and sells it for as high a price as the suckers are willing to pay.

      @CewbPianist ปีที่แล้ว +1

      absolutely agreed by dayan is the most impactful cubing company of all time when it comes to 3x3 hardware. Simply can't beat how good a dayan cubes back in the day, especially guhong, and zhanchi.
