RIP Barry. I love hearing Barry chortling away, normally to almost any one of Graham’s quick quips. Barry’s laugh made the joke even funnier. He was a true legend and is irreplaceable. He can now joke and share laughs with Willie, Tim and Humph up there. Thank you for the wonderful laughs and tears.

Sandi Toksvig's laugh is so infectious, I bet the recordings for the shows went on for ages with her laughing and Humph as well

M.J.Nicholls, thank you so much for these priceless gems. It's been so uplifting, not to mention poignant, hearing such comedic gold. Crying and often breathless with laughter, and loving every minute.

Consistently the funniest programme on Radio.

This series was definitely a high water mark in the programme's history. Graham Garden's "Teddy Bears' Picnic" was perhaps the best ever 01:04:30

The best quiz show ever. And it is so sad to hear Barry Cryer as now left us. There is no one to replace him.

Jeremy Hardy''s 'Hawaii Five-O' with 'We'll Gather Lilacs' is an absolute classic! I'm loving all of these programmes. Thanks so much!!!!!

I've got a recording somewhere of Humph playing the trumpet on VE day in Trafalgar Square.

Grew up listening to this on r4, and with the sad news of Barry's passing I came here. I've laughed out loud at least seven times in the first ten minutes.

Poor Lionel Blair, bless him, RIP. Wonder what he made of these jokes. Ep.2 was the best ever 😂

The two Bill Bailey episodes , particularly the first are probably the finest examples of this show ever made. I remember listening to them when they were first broadcast and crying with laughter. Jack Dee does a magnificent job but Humph was truly the Master. Gone are the days when you could enjoy a double entendre purely for its comedic value. These days some woke snowflake is bound to pipe up on behalf of someone who probably couldn't give a toss.
