Smart move in the dev’s part, making a party game while also using it as a way to create assets for another hinokami chronicles. That’ll save them some time later
Kinda dumb imo demon slayer 2 isn't gonna be anywhere near as successful as demon slayer 1. This is what kills games, instead of just constantly updating the current demon slayer game their making a new one instead 🤦🏿🤦🏿

@@M4r1111 it's been like how many years since the last release of hinokami chronicles? I think it deserves a new game with good netcode, new characters and an updated story mode. New universal mechanics would also be hype, but I assume it will take the storm ninja approach and have more new character gimmicks instead of the former.
@@M4r1111 I mean you could say that about a lot of sequels but you can’t try and take away from the fact that if they had to constantly update the first game they’d be charging the next arcs as dlc and that makes 0 sense ya might aswell make a new game with possibly better net code possibly new mechanics making sequels doesn’t kill games it gives them more time to either improve or stay stagnant but well done or just simply fall off the first game was great sure but saying we don’t need a sequel is like saying we didn’t need DBXV2 when ya look back at how jank DBXV1 was 💀

I actually like arena fighters. They could be repeatitive but all that matters is that is fun to play
The thing about hinokami chronicles is that out of any arena fighter, it has (what feels to me) the most balanced competitive gameplay in the genre. It's the pinnacle of what ninja storm 4 wanted to do, in that they wanted a competitively viable game.
If ninja storm was the basis of all arena fighters, then Hinokami hands down is currently the best modern interpretation of the genre.
It's just that a lot of people don't get to experience that :/ the community is small and the perceived notion of arena fighters being one button games are still strong, especially from the fgc community like me.
I like them, but there's too many of them. They need to try new things with anime games.
I'm probably the only one who's craving for more musou anime games like One Piece Pirate Warriors where you can unleash chaos on the battlefield and take on boss battles.

@@Localweirdo2745 It's good to know I'm not the only one haha. Bleach: Soul Resurreccion and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Impact were sort of Musou games, but they are on older consoles.

There are definitely smart ways to make the most of use of game assets that makes everyone happy across different genres, I think of the relationship between, Jojo: Eyes of heaven and Jojo: Battle Star R, or Street Fighter x Tekken from the games from installments at the time, it's fine to save money, just redistribute some of those funds into making a unique product in that's that worth our money in the end!

Could also be buying time for the game. usually with license properties you're required to make a game within a certain period of time. So they made a lower budget party game that would also let them work on the actual big budget game longer
You make really great videos
having team ultimates, making auto combos shorter or unsafe (so new players stand a chance against new players) and reworking substitutions, so you can also parry a combo at the cost of meter, however the timing has to be frame perfect (or maybe 2-3 frames)

I think a good way to handle hantengu's emotions is to do it to where you can switch between on the character select screen. Like switching outfits in storm

I’d like to see gyokos pot form he can still move hopping around in the pot and it can lean more into game mechanics like surging being a transformation that way gyokos will want to choose between ultimate or surging

The hype is very real. I can't wait for Hinokami 2. Can't wait to have those tournaments again, hopefully they learn their mistakes and don't make ranged demons overpowered like in the first game.

I have a question for anyone who has played the game, does the game force you to use the joycons as a controller to play? because I personally don't really like using the joycons but I feel like this is one of the games that doesn't let you play without the joycons
You can play with joycons and use motion, or any other controller. Even half a joycon. I play mostly with pro controller
