Thanks for sharing, sometimes God works through people to bring healing. It's not always an overnight thing though I do believe that can happen for some men. What men really need is to learn the tools necessary to handle their desires with self-control and maturity. They also need to find more community. That's a process that takes time.

Kinda like the opposite of positive reinforcement. It's hard for many to break away or resist it to begin with when the nastiness is everywhere we look. When I see negative or depressive content I like to reassure myself by asking how many times I've seen it irl, I tend to find the only place I see it is online.

@@eriklarson4082yes the constant access makes it difficult but not impossible. I've helped many men to break the cycle. It just takes the right tools and the right approach. There's a lot of resources for this out there but many of them are shallow/superficial. Find someone who knows what they're talking about and go all in on attempting the change, and you might be surprised how a life long habit can break.
I think he did put that in a good way it's like chasing a high. It changes over time what you need to watch to get off. And it's really just better not to watch any of it.

I was addicted to porn for almost 30 years.. I prayed one night for the holy spirit to deliver me from the spirit of lust and just like that, it was gone. I havent used it in 3 or 4 months now since that night.
There is no power greater in this universe than the holy spirit and it is available to all who seek it. My fiance didnt believe in Christ, one day she said "I just want the truth about God" and I told her "Pray to the holy spirit and ask it for truth. Right there she prayed "Holy spirit give me the truth about God." 3 days later she told me that Jesus was indeed the son of God and died on the cross for our sins.

Definitely an easy addiction that most people don’t even realize. I do that once you know it’s an addiction it’s not hard to quit.
For some people it's harder than others. Some have to work harder if they have a more addictive brain and have been using it for a while. For some its really simple though, doesn't always have to be super hard when you have the right tools and the right mindset.

Placing the responsibility on the woman isn't going to solve the problem. Men need to learn to take personal responsibility for their own desires and urges and learn to deal with them in healthy ways regardless of what the woman does.

I'm not watching porn since before covid period and it's so much better not having that vice, now i find it disgusting but if i think to all the sex i had with my girlfriends when i was young it was always influenced by porn and i regret it i think you can experience sex more on the love and intimacy level instead of the exciting idea of self degradation in the name of sex associated to porn.

Almost every teen starts looking at something innocent like a plain Jane naked body. But after a decade of porn that source material doesn’t work anymore. They need to up it to perversions. To satisfy an itch. And from my experience in the world anyone who says otherwise is covering something deep.
I heard a women I forgot her name. But she basically said how porn destroys young boys and any future relationships with women they have. A young boy just pleases hisself he’s seeing whatever he wants to see his mind is destroyed from it because it’s all about him. And not taking his livers wants or needs into consideration. It’s the lowest form of instant gratification there is. She spoke on if so much better and more in depth. And I wish I knew who it was cus she was so right and i never thought about it the way she said it.
I was addicted to porn until a year ago. It almost ruined my marriage. It truly is a drug the way it burrows into your brain and hooks you. Sadly my Dad gave me a porn magazine that a trucker gave him when I was about 12-13. From that point on, I was either looking at porn or thinking about it. I am so glad to have that evil out of my life and mind now!

How long does it take to be somewhat normal again in terms of self control and interest in normal activities after a 2 year porn addiction. I’ve been struggling with adderal too if that changes anything.
How long it takes depends on a lot of factors. It depends on how effective the tools and techniques are that you are using to try and quit. For example, are you doing it completely alone or do you have some community to support you? It also depends on how severe the addiction got before you tried to quit, such as how long it was going on for. I know men who have been addicted for much longer than two years who have found freedom, so you can do it too!
I don't know if there's a cut-and-dry point where you're simply all good, versus totally ill.
You just feel better the more you do it.
Pro tip:
You gotta fill your life with positive actions, behaviors and habits. Otherwise, when you just remove a bad habit, you create a vacuum that will suck in the same bad habit or other bad habits into your life.
Only the Good can push out the bad. So you got to spend a little time figuring out what these good things are going to be. For many it's exercise, social activities, helping others, working hard, meditation.
And schedule these new good habits! And commit time and money to ensure you will show up and do them.
Don't leave it up to your willpower.

The reason behind the MOTIVATION to wanna quit, has to for YOU. My son struggles with addiction everyday, he is now 4 months clean and has come along way. Even though his addiction was Meth, I love watching him grow as a man since.
