Dee your so right, I've grown up in the US since I was teenager now fifty plus and I've decided to move back next year, everyone is now looking at me like I'm crazy. I told them if they choice to work like slave, be stress just to stay in America that's their problem, I love my peace of mind so I'm moving on.

Deeza I'm Jamaican/British and I have been to several countries in Europe and to America. But the peace and freedom I find in Jamaica is nowhere else. People always tell me that I'm at my happiest when I'm in Jamaica. Like I say Deza. Each to his own. Form me Jamaica is freedom and peace. It's my safe place. Dream every day of moving back. God bless Jamaica 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️

It's great to hear you share your experiences.
So many people want to make the move but succumb to the negative perceptions being put out by the press, content creators and even Travel advisories being issued by other countries.
Like you, I left the UK a few years ago and have forged a simple enriching life in Jamaica
For me, Jamaica is more than the beaches, reggae and great climate, it is about the culture, nature, the history, the hospitable people and the opportunity to reinvent oneself.
Wishing you and Outlaw continued success x

It's the weather , the naturalness of the island, the people. There is something therapeutic about just sitting by the ocean and the breeze from the ocean just extract the stresses from your body. It's also the smell of Jamaica. Jamaica has a smell that no other place has. It's a refreshing smell. The minute you step out of the airport that refreshing smell is breath of fresh air.
Jamaica is also clean. The food cures you it's so good.

For Jamaicans born in Jamaica and living there, the SALARY IS A PROBLEM! For those looking to move to Jamaica, ensure your salary will be in USD, CAD or GBP. Once you convert it to JMD, your money will stretch further and u will be able to live in a nice area. DO NOT, and I repeat, do NOT move to Jamaica with the intention of finding a job and living in Jamaica happily ever after because the salary will be much lower than you're used to. Also vacationing in Jamaica and actually living there and dealing with it from day to day is different. However, it does offer peace of mind... but make sure you have money and you live in a safe area.

    • @phillyyardyvibes808
      @phillyyardyvibes808 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

So what . Kicking out those puppet politicians who are working for foreign interests instead of Jamaicans . How about starting working for Jamaicans to make the salary better and stop the currency from sliding. We cannot throw up white flag and think things will be better. Singapore did it with less that we had, so why can’t we do it. Oh I forgot Singapore is not a predominantly black country. they are not crab in barrel, not falling to the colonists divide and conquer strategy. We need to get it done , no one else will do it for us, and obviously neither the government. These governments were formed before independence by the colonial master to keep us poor, and still dependent on them. They were and still playing chess, while we are not even playing checkers. It is more like we snake and ladder. How could we be independent and still using the parties that our colonial master created. More like the illusion of independence. Our failure is their success. We are helping building their countries by way of brain drain, while at the same time they are exploiting us, as with their all -Inclusive and slave like wages

Hi Deezer (and Outlaw). I'm new to your channel, and I ran upon you on an interview you did with Throp. I'm glad to see you happy 😊. I took a solo "Birthcation" to Jamaica last month, and I cried when I had to return to the United States (Dallas, Texas), but I plan on making future trips to Jamaica. I stayed in Negril for nearly a week and celebrated my big day in Kingston. Jamaica is what one makes of it and for me, it was therapeutic.

Hi Deeza, welcome back. I visited other Caribbean countries and Europe ( Spain, France and Italy). I love Barcelona, Spain, but visiting and living in any country is different. I was born in Jamaica and left at age 11. Now I'm grown and took early retirement. I visited Jamaica and do business (banking) in Jamaica. Each time, I'm disappointed. I don't get the feeling of living there. I close out the bank accounts. I am at home in Canada. I will always visit other countries, including Jamaica. This is what works for me. I think everyone will do what's best for them. I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing what they think is best for them. Including my kids.

As someone born & lived in London all my life until a few years ago moving to JA, your vid is spot on. One of the things I love is the peace of mind of not being stereotyped. No subtle/overt racism. I am an individual not racial mascot. For the most part the people are nice.
Once you got a car (the public transport sucks lol but there's InDrive etc), a place to live, income (even better when it's foreign £), send down food/household barrels (the supermarkets are expensive), be diligent with your surroundings & company, you'll be Gucci

Many Jamaicans who migrated years ago still dont accomplished much. The value for the pound might be high but it dont mean a thing in England. The money that ppl a talk about use up in rent and council tax. If you want to get your ILR you have to pay a bag a money...Many ppl not working 3000 pounds good. Tell me what are you actually saving again..We dont have a bunch of bills...and we still able to build our house, drive a nice car and have our insurance. Everything i have a Jamaica give me. It’s not the place, it’s the people you’re with. If you’re go back well off but the rest of your family in Jamaica is poor, that divide will be a big problem and you’ll find yourself no better off socially. Going back as a small group has to be the best option to overcome this. Even if just a friend, it’ll make such a difference.

Don't get wrapped up with family, best to limit your contact while being cordial. It's the same in every developing country, trust me. Speak to Nigerians, Ghanians, Pakistanis, Indians to name a few.People will see you in a different light simply because you've lived abroad. Your experience, success, or otherwise depends on your level of awareness and understanding of your new environment and how you are perceived.

Iv been watching you since really day one and yes you have discussed this before. I love what you share about your life but still… I watch a lot of Jamaica news and see how sometimes foreigners are targeted. Please nobody come on and tell me they’re not because I’ve seen it with my own family members and non-family members. I realise you have to be careful, but I can’t live like that having to watch my back all the time and even if you’re not watching it I’d still be worried because of what I’ve researched what I’ve watched, sadly, it has put me off ever wanting to live there. I will always visit But as a British black person who came from Jamaican parents with a strong British accent. I would be an easy target. Nothing anybody can tell me will change my mind about that. It is very sad that even dealing with discrimination and unfairness on a daily basis in the UK. that I still feel safer here. where I live in the UK, I can walk the street at 2 o’clock in the morning and know that I’m gonna get home. I don’t feel scared to drive at 4 o’clock in the morning which I’ve done a lot of times and never think anything about it. I do now after watching news in Jamaica. 😢Still I will continue to watch your journey it’s lovely to see how you’re doing. Thank you for showing us that it can be done.😊

Why all the negativity about the UK 🇬🇧. If it wasn't for the UK many of us wouldn't be able to buy houses and move back home. Love the land of my birth and also the UK for what it's done for me.

?? If you watched any of my other videos, you’d see that I express my gratefulness for being born and educated in the UK as this has afforded me opportunities I may not have had if I was born somewhere else. I can only speak for myself, and I repeat just as I did in the video, EVERYWHERE & EVERY COUNTRY has its problems and issues including Jamaica. Did you hear me mention on the video that my heart bleeds whenever I hear about the things going on in Jamaica with regards to crime & violence? Just the same way I feel down when I’m in the UK. There are pros and cons to living in both Jamaica and the UK, but each to his own and I support everyone. It’s not about being negative towards the UK, but it’s sharing my personal feelings and journey. I hope you can understand that and maybe if you watch some of my other videos (there are over 300 on this channel) you’ll see that I also speak about the positives and negatives of both Jamaica and the UK. Thanks for your comment

@DatMiSehTV my comment wasn't directed at you personally . I watched all post and saw where you said If you had to return to the UK it wouldn't be a problem because you were born here. My comment was directed at all negative comments from the UK.

I have nothing to be grateful for when it comes to the UK, my ancestors were forced to work with their blood and tears to enrich the UK. The UK owes me big time!! Also, what’s sickening is that up until recently the ancestors of those enslaved STILL had to pay back the compensation due to the SLAVE MASTERS by means of tax, how sickening. Jamaica would be a wealthy island if the UK did not shut down the sugar factories and refuse to buy Jamaican produce. So you can stick the bowing to master England where the sun doesn’t shine!

@africanexcellencemovement1266 your welcome to live in the past. Most black people are more concerned about making a better life for themselves and their family. We can't change history it happened and it's something as black people we have to live with and never forget.i don't know where your from but if your in the UK you will probably see what I see every day.i see the Indians doing much better than us in all aspects, Education Business. In time they will be the dominant race in this country. Were they not slaves.

@@tonyc6736"Slave" by name, maybe, but the black treatment and experience is completely different to that of the Indian. That's a low and cheap blow trying to compare our turmoil with other races. There are many different factors and systems that HAVE to be taken into account. Do you know why Chinese and Indians have shops and restaurants while many black people don't? Because of the system put in place by the British Government that stopped black people from obtaining the same (or at least made it harder) and "favourable racism", where we have had pure negative and degratory propaganda spread around the world against us and others have had more "favourable" views and comments said about them. Plus the people in charge will have that thinking also, "Do I give a business loan to the 'mild mannered, meek, good with numbers, hard working' Indian or the 'lazy, troublemaking, dangerous' black person? You and many others, may have worked hard and did well for yourself, but others have tried too and it didn't always work out, whether thru lack of opportunities or taking the wrong path, doesn't mean they are living "in the past". The discrepancies and injustices, even between the races, has been highlighted numerous times. It's a shame you're so dismissive of the black experience and ready to throw the "that's the past/slave mentality will get you no where" card around so freely

So, pleased that you are still enjoying Jamaica, but life is what you make it whoever you are and wherever you are. I live in the Uk and for the past three years I’ve have been a caregiver to my mother in Jamaica. I stay for 6 months of the year, but I always look forward to going back to the UK. I am glad I’ve had the opportunity to experience living here because I now know my home is definitely the UK.

I believe a lot of Jamaicans living abroad especially in the Uk are suffering from Stockholm syndrome. How can you live in a land where the natives only tolerate you and they have shown you time after time that you are not wanted eg Windrush and the racism against black footballers which happened recently. I know Jamaica is no paradise but are you telling me you would be ok with living in a damp, racist island? Heck even white British are immigrating in their drives. If I had to leave Jamaica I would choose another Caribbean country or Africa to move to because the UK would NEVER be an option.

Island living is great but it can get redundant and boring too where you'll be itching to get off the island for a bit. That's why many foreigners will do it for 6 months of the year or so.

Really and truly, the people who are simple will believe a pipe dream. The ones who have an expanded minds will know it takes hard work and sacrifices to get to your destination. Talk to people who are successful , they will let yo know, they did not do just working 9 to 5. They worked evenings, weekends, managed and invest the money, cut corners etc.
