Waffle was just SO happy to be back in training he couldn't contain himself! I love how patient and understanding you were, without that balance it would be easy to sour his love for work
Great lesson and reality check. The need for consistency and building on the basics. I actually enjoy waffle being a bit bonkers and the honest demonstration, how to respond to the excitement, not the perfect scenario which is perfectly executed which can make us feel like failures. Thank you.
Great video once again, totally agree with what your saying. My two walk nicely on the lead as I have worked on it since pups but if I go to visit folks in Canada for a couple of weeks and my husband is left at home minding them he happily lets them scoot about the field at the back of the house. Then I come home put leads on and they both forget their lead manners for first part of walk, then it's like oh yeh mum's back better behave.
My 10 month springer is driving me nuts at the moment, running off having too many independent moments. Watching your videos reassures me that I just need to look for small progress and accept that he won’t get it all right all the time.
Yes I know what you mean I have had 3 months off training after my complete knee replacement he is now 1 year old Black Labrador named George, I have got a lot of work to do with him now but will be getting help from a qualified trainer. My breeder a well known person with which I had a very good dog before said he will be a good dog he has got a lot of characteristic. I looked it up on my phone and he sure has we will see. Thank you for your videos.
A joy to watch as always. Since you asked for ideas and you have springers, I’d love to see some work with them and a chat about pros and cons of the three breeds/comparison. We have just got a Labrador puppy so all and everything puppy, early training and Labrador related is appreciated 😊
Thanks for this video it's great to have a realistic and relatable scenario rather than some of the fix me quick videos which lets face it are full of BS
Thanks, Charlie. Very helpful advice when things go awry. Just back from a walk round town which is always a challenge because of the smells. Being yanked about is not fun ... Should I not bother doing that or persevere?
Great to see that Waffle is back and to see what ‘slippage’ he has experienced by his extended holiday. Make sure you let us all know when your merchandise is ready for sale. 🤞
Brilliant. Watching you interact with waffle will really help me with my pup Rolo, who is still learning. I don’t think my technique has been the best 🥹

Training spaniels is really like flying heilcopter in the living room. Always going nuts
😂 so true
LOOK WHO'S BACK!! WAFFLE'S BACK!! Yes, Waffle!!!
Great to see waffle… and to be reminded of what can happen 🤣
Thanks Charlie.
Stay great.

Another tremendous video. Thank-you
Just love these videos - I have an 8 month old working cocker and these films have really helped me!
I'm so glad I came across this video it answers so many of my questions about my sproker. 👍🏻
Looks who’s back sporting his new American jeans! Oh wait, Waffle is back 😀😀 Loads more waffle videos please!

Waffle really reminds me of our cocker, looks like a little livewire 😂

Next time you take a trip send him here and I’ll “help” … or just keep him…lol love the little bugger
1 month later. Waffle is still an adorable rascal.

Great video Charlie. What's the saying...labs are born half trained, spaniels die half trained..... 🙂
